Online Consultations...?

Recommended Posts

Hey y'all, this might sound dumb/stupid or whatever but what do you usually ask when contacting clinics online etc.? Because what I've heard is that you rarely talk to the doctor him/herself but to some translator (?) or staff at the hospital/clinic that speaks english. I might be wrong, I really don't know since I'm just saying what I've heard.

In that case, what kind of questions can one ask when contacting them on kakao/whatsapp etc.? Is it sufficient to only do an online consultation? How do y'all choose to do a f2f consultation with them or not?

I just sent my photos into a few different clinics, so I'm still waiting for my online "consultations" to come back. I imagine that a Dr. would evaluate the photos on a preliminary basis just to get the ball rolling for potential patients. I know seven years ago, I did a skype consultation with a revision rhinoplasty specialist in San Diego - unfortunately, I couldn't afford to get the surgery done because he quoted $10,000. At any rate, maybe some places offer video calls. And I'm guessing if there's enough communication between you, the translators, and the Drs., then you can move forward with face-to-face consultations.

From my experience, the consultant will evaluate what you want/need first and give you a generic ballpark quote. If you're a foreigner, they will quote high so when you go to f2f consult, you can bargain. There are only a few clinics I've come across where the actual doctor will respond to chats/email inquiries and you can request a video chat consult with smaller clinics.
