Need some help with narrowing down clinics

Recommended Posts

Hey guys Estheryuki/Esther from the Kakao chat.  I would have used my kakao handle but Estheryuki was taken already so I just used a nickname my irl friends call me lol. I’ve never had that handle taken before since it’s a name ID I’ve used since middle school lmao 😂

Situation: Ive been researching ps stuff since last year, dipped out for a several months bc school and work and now I’m back at it but it’s more confusing now for some reason.

Background: For background, I’m 27 years old, Work in the healthcare field, and am Korean American who has about 50% ish grasp of Korean.  So I chat with clinics via English and Korean but still what info I get feels very....shadowed since I’m not technically a local lol. I’m trying to get primary double eyelid surgery with the goal of dolly eyes that can make my eyes more awake and brighter 초롱초롱 but I’m befuddled by my long ass list I’m having trouble narrowing down.  Please help me out as I’m set to go to Korea 7/14-7/29!  I’ll attach my document here if that’s ok.

Assessment: I already have double eyelids but uneven and I’d like to further or enhance it ^^ my eyebags are a problem too bc nightshift work ruined me lol

Plan: narrow down five clinics, consult them ASAP during my visit...or just pick a clinic, pay deposit and plan surgery date so I can focus on healing my eyes for two weeks! Help please?

Esther you are having analysis paralysis. Right now you're at 10 picks, and you should really think about getting this down to 3 to 5 max for face to face consults. Having 10 face to face consults is too much. It will become confusing and all the recommendations, prices, schedules and doctors will become a blur.

Based on this list, the ones you have responses from so far are essentially 5, I took out DAPS because it did not supply a quote.

Eyelid surgery is one the more straight forward surgeries in Korea, so the clinics below should be competent in this procedure, especially from my own knowledge and experience.

  • Ruby
  • Pop
  • Gylumhan
  • Marble
  • Top Face

Your next step now is to go out into the field and consult and begin the process of elimination.

Write down what are the most important factors for you and at the face to face consultation start to narrow down:

  • Your goals:
    •  Wider and brighter (dolly) eyes and appearance
    • Under eye and dark circle / bag correction
  • Assess the clinic / doctor
    • Recommendation & method
    • Doctors understanding of your goal & feasibility
    • Staff & overall vibes (listen to your gut)
    • Pricing and schedule

Thank you so much Kino this helps me a ton.  I’ll work on choosing my top five and just going for it rather than wear myself out with consults.  Thanks so much.

update: So with Kino's advice I've narrowed down my clinics.  I will def post all the deets when I consult with them! No sponsoring or biases LOL.

My top fives are POPPremier (Dr Jang YuJin), DA, ILUMI and PR.  I have Topface also but that's as a backup, but may end up dropping as well.

  1. I know Pop's doc has a suspended license but I think I'll at least consult f2f and heck even ask why he didn't pay his surgeon fees.  I'm so curious to this clinic's monumental advertising and rise to locals' fame
  2. Premier.   Acc to GU, Dr Jang has really nice dramatic results.  Of course I did hear about the hygiene questionings but I'd rather assess her in person.
  3. DA.  Their results are my type so.
  4. ILUMI.  They are terrible with answering back their texts! It's been like a week LOL.  But as long as I have a consult with them I'll see them in person.
  5. PR.  Another top riser according to GU.  Their results seem legit.
  6. I dropped Marble because although they were totes my style they were overcharging me LOL
  7. Topface is a backup because honestly I've only seen/heard good results from them.

Hi Esther,

Glad you have managed to shortlist to five clinics. Yes, you will better be able to gauge your preference after the f2f consults (so don't place the deposit before the f2f). I am also keen on those clinics and would really appreciate your sharing on the consultations. All the best for your upcoming trip!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey Esther! Thanks for posting this! I am still working on compiling my top 3 or 5 clinics that I'll do f2f consultation with. I have 6 clinics on my list right now. Did you schedule the f2f consultations with all 5 clinics before you come to Korea? How do you make sure you can get the surgery scheduled in time while you're there if you didn't book the surgery time beforehand? I'm also not from Korea, so I want to know what other people do. Thanks and have a great time in Korea!
