  1. You should check out Dr. Lee at Beverly Hills Facial Plastic Surgery Center. A couple of my friends have really been happy with her and her work.

  2. My friend had hers done with Dr. Kimberly Lee and was really happy with her results. She went to her because she specializes only in plastic surgery of the face unlike others who do body and face. I go to her for other stuff and she's really friendly. If I were you, I would pick the one you feel most comfortable with, not necessarily based only on price.

  3. i agree with asian90210. female cosmetic surgeons are hard to find, but if you can find one, they're seem to be more compassionate and aware of our concerns. i don't think they will be jealous at all! i think they would want to do the best job for you!

  4. asiangirl, my friend had a dorsal augmentation and alar base reduction done at the same time. before surgery, her nose was totally flat and wide (wide like an african-american even though she is asian). instead of using implants, which could get infected and extrude, her doctor used my friend's own tissue and cartilage from her own nose and ear to augment the nose. my friend really liked that since it was from her own body and thus less likely to get infected.

my friend went to dr. kimberly lee in beverly hills, who she thinks is beverly hills' best hidden secret. dr. lee works together with dr. babak azizzadeh in a team approach and is very talented with asian facial plastic surgery. from what my friend said, she's totally reasonably priced too, esp considering she was featured in a lot of magazines, like people magazine, and TV for her work repairing the lady who's face was attacked by a bear last year.

i don't think you'll get the cookie cutter jackson pinched look from an alar base reduction. that look usually comes from over-aggressive tip work. initially after surgery the nose looks great, but the pinched look forms about a year later.

  6. most definitely! the tip is narrower and elevated. there's been placement of a strut for more support as well. it gives a softer look to the hump taken down from her nasal bones.

asiangirl: there are a lot of asian rhinoplasty specialists in the US. personally, i feel more comfortable getting it done in the US, where i know if there is a problem or complication, i can get it fixed. not even the best specialists can guarantee you won't have a problem or need a touch up afterwards. my friend had hers done in beverly hills. pm me if you want her doc's info.

  7. this person had alar base reduction surgery. there are small incisions made in the creases on the side of the nose. a small portion is removed and then resewn. it heals beautifully and you can't even tell there was an incision made there if done well. a lot of asians also get this done as the width of the nose tends to be wide (and gets even wider when you smile).

  8. that's not necessarily true. i've seen many rhinoplasties from asia that have needed to be revised (from infected grafts, collapsed noses a year or two after the surgery, etc.) revision rhinos are possible but they will require either ear or rib cartilage, both of which can be avoided the first time around. you can get the surgery done here relatively inexpensively by highly skilled surgeons. if you live in LA, pm me for recs.
