  3. If you're looking for natural results, the following are my shortlist of clinics who have in-house translator & doctors who can speak English:
    • Gyalumhan: Dr Ahn Tae Joo (used to be at JW) for non-incisional DES, ptosis & epicanthoplasty
    • JK: Dr Paik Hye Won (the only female doctor on my list) for partial incision DES, ptosis and minimal scarring epicanthoplasty
    • BIO: Dr Shin Yong Ho (used to be at BK) for revision cases
Can you update us on your progress and best of luck for the surgery

  4. Thank you for sharing your experiences jellyprincess  It's good that you can have non-incisional eyelid surgery since they're virtually scarless and have quick recovery period. I'll add pumpkin juice, fake glass/sunnies to my surgery preparation list

Just wondering with the antibiotics do you remember what's the name/strength/direction you were given? It's because I'm thinking of getting the antibiotics from my local doctor before coming to Korea >°< Also did you have consultation with any other hospital before deciding on ID?

  5. Me! Finally after 2 years of lurking, saving money and continuous research, I've made the plunge to go to Korea to get double eyelid surgery

PS: For those who are interested in Banobagi, they're running a model competition, so if you're active online (i.e. Youtuber/blogger) and looking for free surgery sponsorship for expensive procedures do check their Facebook post dated on 2/9

  6. Based on my research from JW, Dr Choi Hong Lim will be my first choice (especially if you need ptosis correction and natural result) and Dr Kim Yeon Jun for lateral canthoplasty. Also, from now to mid-October is perfect time for surgery since it's not too busy.

Edit: didn't read your question properly. In terms of deposit, if you can secure a date during the busier season from November onwards with a good (&popular) doctor, it's worth as a trade-off for a higher price.

  7. There are other ways apart from lateral canthoplasty (i.e. cutting the outer eye corner).

In terms of cutting in the up direction, there is ptosis correction to reveal more of your iris. However, there is the risk of looking surprised all the time if overdone.

Alternatively, lateral hotz can help opening the eye in the down direction especially if you have slanted eyes. However, the cons is that your eyes might look droopy and sad if it's not slanted enough to surgery.
