  1. I'm sorry for replying late. If you went for surgery in December, hope you're satisfied with whomever you chose.
It's been 2 months post op and I feel that I owe this thread an update.

I had revision DES at ITEM in Nov 2016. Previously got tapered creases but apparently my forehead started sagging, hiding the crease.
I wanted parallel creases this time and went with Dr. Kim. Like someone here suggested, I made a powerpoint comparing my "dream crease" to what I did not want. He drew the markings on my lids before going into theatre and seemed to know what I wanted.
The operation went fine and unlike last time (where I was under deep sedation), I did not experience any nausea/vomiting. Got to rest in the recovery room with an ice mask for around an hour before taxiing home with my post-op package (consisted of 2 ice packs, meds, ointment etc.).
I didn't have any major complications during recovery. One eye was more bruised and swollen than the other.
However, I have to say that ITEM's post-op service pales in comparison to other clinics.
    • The only instructions I got regarding medication dosage was verbal, right after surgery. I only learned I was taking the wrong dose (once per day, but was supposed to be 3x) one week later when I realized I had a lot more medication left. I guess I should have paid more attention when the consultant was explaining, but I was quite groggy from the sedatives. It would have been nice to have the instructions written down or sent to me via Kakao/email.
    • The post op package had the tiniest amount of ointment, and I had to go back for refills, twice. I also had to request for anti-bruising cream (again, they have a stingy amount and I had to return to refill). This should have been included in the package.
    • Some other ladies who went with MVP said they got free antiswelling and skincare treatments every single day. Last time, I got an antiswelling treatment from Dream too. ITEM didn't offer any of these services. Fair enough, because MVP and Dream charge a premium.
TL;DR: Regarding aftercare, you'll have to take care of yourself.

ITEM isn't the most luxurious clinic, but I felt that it provided good service for what I paid. I'm satisfied with my revised eyelids. I would say that one crease is higher than the other. I don't know if that's due to residual swelling and need to wait perhaps 2 more months to make a final say. I'm happy also that the scarring is minimal - just a 3mm notch towards the inner corner of one eye. All in all, I got the high parallel creases that I wanted.

Hope this helps those considering ITEM.

  2. From what I've researched on Realself, there's no consensus on the benefits of post-op breast massage (regardless of implant brand) because capsular contracture is an immunological response. The dr. I'm consulting doesn't recommend it either.

Mentor, Allergan and Sientra are the only implant brands approved by the US FDA so I'll be sticking to those.

  3. I consulted with Dr. Amorn Poomee at Bumrungrad Hospital earlier this year (but didn't end up getting the surgery) He's pretty nice and not arrogant. Let me to try on the sizers even though I said I wouldn't do the surgery this time. His wife is the most caring "consultant" I've ever encountered. Thinking of going back for BA this December.

  4. Hey everyone, would appreciate some input on this!
I've been messaging several clinics on Kakao regarding revision DES. Planning to have it next Monday so I guess the consultants can sense it's quite urgent.
One of the clinics I'm talking to is quite well known and has all positive reviews here on Purseblog.
When I expressed interest in scheduling a consultation, the consultant immediately tried pushing me to book the surgery date by sending them a deposit, for which she promised a 10% discount.
She also asked me if they could use my B&A photos (full face, not just eyes only) for marketing in exchange for a 10-30% discount - which I thought was weird since their website already has 6 pages of B&A's for eye surgeries alone. And their website is one of those extremely messy ones, graphic-intensive ones with more than enough photos.
I enquired further about the B&A discount, and she tried pushing me to send a deposit in order to "secure the discount."

Funny thing is, none of the other 5 or so clinics I've messaged have been pushy about surgery deposits. And none have offered discounts for using B&A photos. I know that surgery deposits aren't a rarity, but at just how pushy this consultant was...is that a red flag?

My fear is that they recently got a bad rep on Korean forums (unbeknownst to the English speaking community here) and are trying to salvage their revenues by throwing discounts.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

  5. Oh, thanks so much for your update, K Couture! I got Acculift a week ago and was paranoid since I didn't see my jawline become any less voluminous than before. I was under the impression that the procedure involves a cannula sucking out the fat at the same time that the laser "melts" it. Maybe it's too early to tell but I haven't noticed any tightening effect either. :hrmm:

  6. Hey thanks for sharing! I'm considering Pitangui too and the same procedures that you did (minus the eye bag repositioning) for my trip in mid July. Would you mind telling me how it's like doing all these procedures at once? How are you feeling now, and how are you coping with the swelling? When are you leaving Korea? Thanks in advance

  7. I had Radiesse (calcium hydroxyapatite) injected into my nose bridge and tip in Hong Kong 2 years ago. They charge you by the vial, and it was expensive to HK (US$1000 but should cost only around $700 in the States/Canada). I got .5 cc for my nose and tip combined (and the rest for my chin).

I had NO bruising at all for the nose but for my 2nd time with the chin injection I got severe bruising for 2-3 weeks which made people question the presence of domestic violence :P...so do be aware of that risk

Other than that it's a very low risk procedure and the numbing/sore feeling lasts only about a day. The results were quite decent but after 2 years everything is gone and I'm looking to do permanent rhinoplasty and chin implant now
