  1. thanks bro for the compliment. yes, all the credit goes to dr shin. i think he has the best eyes for detail in the business. he can tell what wrong with you and prescribe exactly what is needed for your case. he is the most underrated surgeon i've seen. so many attention has been given to dr kim or dr Hong and not enough lime light on dr shin. but the true wizard of the scalpel is undoubtedly dr shin yong ho. i think a lot of people over look the credential of dr Shin because the clinic charges an arm and a leg for their service, which is a shame really. dr shin use to run and operate his own PS clinic before joining BK. in fact he is the only director surgeon at BK that once own and operated a PS clinic.

a lot of changes you see in my face is the result of the treated area, the nose, cheek and paranasal. its amazing when i look at the picture and i see the changes resulting from the area that was surgically treated. result from paranasal is still sketchy at the moment due to the mid facial swelling. but cheek and nose is really coming into place. i think the mild swelling contribute to my youthful look  hope i still look youthful after the swelling subside. i will be going back in a few month for love and fat grafting under the eyes, which dr shin suggest that i do next time. so i have more excuse to go back to seoul in a few months )

  2. thanks LC, if i weren't me, i'll probably love my new look too LOL. but yeah, dr shin did an amazing job for me. i couldn't be more estatic by the result, and its only been a month post op. i can't wait to see further improvement after a few more months when the swelling has completely melt away  until then, no more picture. hehehe. i wouldn't want to spoil the big unveil :graucho:

  3. thanks for the compliment. the first priority of sr shin to create a natural look and still produce the result that i wanted... mission accomplish  still have a lot way to go before i could consider my nose perfect. just keeping my finger cross that its going to be soon  i think the reason why my lip look smaller is because the rest of my face look a little bigger due to the swelling. the reason why my eyes look different is because again of the swelling. incision were made during the zygomatic reduction near the corner of my eyes to removed the screw from my cheek. thus my eyes seem to become smaller due to the swelling. after a few month, everything should return back to normal.

  4. thanks dear for your compliment. yeah, after much consideration i decide to go with silicone instead of dermis, which is why i didn't take you up on your kind offer  i did consider long and hard before electing to go back on silicone. my only only concern with dermis is the overture, plus silicone is a time test material to use on the bridge of the nose. so why mess with tradition  initially i didn't know how a curve would make me lok, but it turn out a curve on my nose look just as refine as a straight nose. so i'm not complaining  3D look huh? can you send a more close up view of your picture. the one that use on your avatar is too small for me to make out anything. i want to see how your new nose fit in with your current profile :smile:surely will be beautiful...

  5. Just because you see other surgeon dr park doesn't mean some other surgeon is performing the surgery. Every clinic required a few assisting surgeon to help with the main surgeon, especially ifs its a major procedure such as 2 jaw or ASO. To accuse ID of having some one else perform the surgery is jumping into conclusion with out first assessing the fact. When i had my surgery done at ID back in april, i had the same concern as well. But it was dr park who woke me up from the GA. I know that doesn't prove anything, but assume that it was some other surgeon who perform my surgery, knowing that dr park was around to supervise the procedure is assuring enough for me. Who care which surgeon did the surgery, whats important is the result you achieved afterward that really count. I wouldn't want dr park doing my surgery if he can't produce the result that i wanted.

  6. This will be the last comparative photo i will be posting for a while until the end of this month. I just want to share this picture to show the difference my before and after surgery. Apologize for the grainy looking after shot since it was taken with the front cam of my iPhone. So far so good. Noticeably difference is the area treated (nose, cheek and paranasal) still experiencing about 30% facial swelling, 70% swelling on the nose. Any feedback would be appreciated

  7. oh.... thats great. we can definetely meet up  i will let you know the detail of my flight once i have them. so talk to you soon my dear

  8. ah ic.... well i guess its blessing that no rib were harm in the making of your surgery. LOL :graucho: wow. 1cm would? thats small. BK told me the incision would be 7cm long. thats a long scar to live with. guess you're right. the hand of a surgeon play a crucial part in the outcome and i'm so glad everything turn out great for you and your bro.

there's still a silicone up my nose  but dr shin gave me a nice, but subtle curve for the bridge of my nose. i didn't think it would look nice until i saw it on the simulation. what a difference it make to my profile. you're right about the cruvy part of my cheek bone being gone. the reduction is quite subtle on the right side of my cheek but what a difference it makes in my overall appearance. my face is noticably slimmer which is why i think my parent never notice the swelling that was still evident on my face

  9. i was there last month with a few forumer who arehaving their consultation. quite honestly speaking, they ain't that bad. dr kim seem quite knowledgable and patient when consulting the consultation. he present plenty of examples and describe procedure using moving animiation. he isn't all that pushy and their price seem quite reasonable. but for whatever reason, i just don't feel for them. their SG representative has been spamming my phone with promotion which i had never ask for. and i'm still waiting on an answer to a question i asked her 5 months ago. so i don't think the clinic its self is the problem, the real issue is the representative that promote the clinic. i too seen a picture of peggy. the result were pretty good, although i did notice some minor defect such as the eyes and the nose. not sure when she have had the surgery with ITEM. could still be swollen. but if you ask me would i ever trade up dr shin for dr kim of ITEM, the answer is going to be a resounding NO

  10. i have had silicone in my nose since 2009, so believe me when i say that it doesn't get the way of your daily life. i'm a gym rat myself and spent most of the week on treadmill and pec deck machine, and i have never once experience any complication or pain during or after my work out. extrusion however is very personal. i never have to worry about extrusion due to the density of my skin. if the density of your skin is paper thin, extrusion will occur regardless if you work out or not. one of the reason why i opt for silicone instead of dermis for my nose is because dermis is a combination of fat and skin. while the skin will remain, the fat will overture eventually into the body, overture will be much faster if you go on a crazy diet or exercise extensively as i am doing now. so i am concern if i use dermis for the bridge, it might shrink over time. beside. i have never had an issue with silicone in my body. so i see no reason not to reuse silicone for my revision rhino.

    hope this help

  11. congrate on you and your brother successful rhinoplasty. so glad that everything turn out great for you this time around and there weren't any complication. still not to hot about the idea of having some one cut out a piece of my rib though. so allow me to tip my hat off to you and those (tthhxx22, kain) who took that step  happy recovering my dear

  12. Swelling is common my dear. Expect them to be around for quite a while. And i wouldn't too much about your nose. I saw many shin nose example and it all look great. So i am very sure once the swelling subsided, you will get the nose that you always dream of  good luck and happy recovery

  13. I thought i would ink my 700th post with a photo update of my zygomatic reduction procedure i had with dr shin of BK. i believe it was kkim120 who requested that i post a photo of my b/a cheek, so here it is. The before picture were of my right cheek, which has the slight protrusion compare to my left cheek which has the more severe protrusion. Both my left and right cheek were reduce differently, my right cheek being cut and shave, while my left cheek were just cut. Because my left cheek is bigger than my right cheek thus required a different approach. The after pic is also that of my right cheek bone and if you do the comparison, you can see it is now more flat and curvy. The protrusion is totally gone which is enough cause to celebrate )) the left cheek bone has the same curvy linear running from my forehead down to my chin. Somehow the before picture doesn't show the severity of my protrusion due to the angle of the photo. But its severe enough in my opinion to fly all the way to seoul to get it fix  i'm glad i had it fix cause every time i look in the mirror, i no longer see to cheek bone sticking out like a sore thumb. There is still swelling as always, so final result be seen in a few more months. I think the result will continue to get better as the swelling continue to subside.

  14. My pleasure dear. Just want to make sure you have issue with transportation when you arrived in seoul, which i doubt you will. There are frequent taxi running the street of seoul. Here a little tip, the older cab driver seem to be the unwilling one. So if you hail a park cab and if the driver look like in his late 50's, move on to the next can cause chances are the older cab driver are the one that i have the most problem with. If you wave down a moving cab, then just try asking if they willing to take you, even if the driver does look like he is in his late 50's. The only good thing about veteran can driver is there are less of a dare devil on the street. There drive slower and the obey traffic like majority of the time. So you don't feel like your life is in danger  but that also mean it takes longer to reach your destination which reflect in the meter

  15. if you refering to sinsa, then its relatively easy. but some taxi driver will be very reluctant to take to some places if there don't know or understand where you want to go. this is where lack of knowledge of the local language can be a real burden. too many cab driver in seoul rely too much on the use of GPS. so before you hail a cab, make sure you have the full address in korean handy. you could probably show them address in english, but to ensure the cab driver will take you to your destination, its best to have the address in korean. don't be too upset if the first cab you hail refuse to take you to where you want to go, reason being either its rush hour at the time or its just not along the way where they are heading. don't get too discourage. keep trying. eventually you will hail a cab that is willing to take you where you want to go

  16. great to hear that you on your way back. hope everything turn out great the way you wanted. make sure to keep all of us updated on your result

  17. great to hear that my dear. hopefully your consultation with anna and dr shin turn out great. i'm sure you will be intrique by dr shin meticulous attention to detail

  18. you may be arriving at seoul at that time, but you must take into account the immigration and how long its going to take for you to check out. not to mention the transit from the airport to sinsa will take about an hour give and take depending on traffic. so i guess by the time you reach sinsa after everything considered, you're looking at around 6 - 6.30 pm. that might just be a little too rush to my liking, especially if you have plenty of luggages to haul around. plus both both BK and ID knock off work at around 7pm. so my suggestion would be to set the appointment the following day instead, that way you won't be in such a rush and either anna and joanne can accomodate you longer during the consultation. i suggest to set the appointment 2 hours apart from one another. that will give you plenty of time to wrap up one consultation and move on to the next with plenty of time to spare.

BK pick up service is 80,000 KRW which is about USD$ 80.00. (80,000 KRW) if you take the limo bus to sinsa station and walk to highland which is about 15 minute, then it will cost you about USD$ 10.00 (10,000 KRW) but i suggest you take a cab from sinsa station especially if you have a lot of luggages with you. the cab will cost you an additional USD$ 5.00 (5,000 KRW) which bring your total to around USD$ 15.00 (15,000 KRW) you can also take the subway, but for a newbie like your self who have never been to seoul, it might be kinda confusing. so i prefer you take the limo bus. from the airport to BK or ID is quite far away. atleast an hour depending on the traffic. you might reach there faster if you take a cab since limo stop does make make several stop in between your destination. but you will never get lost in seoul trust me

quite honestly with you, i am not a fan of paranasal implant. its either fat or dermis. i personally choose to have dermis since it is permanent compare to the fat graft and it doesn't resrict expression when you smile. i have no issue with smiling although its still a little tight due to swelling.

you sure you want to have the consultation on the day of your arrival? you sure you be able to make it? if you can ofcourse i can arrange the appointment for you, but i doubt you will be able visit both clinic on the same day. remember, both clinic close at 7pm.

all three currencies that you mention they will be able to accept. to get the best rate, i suggest that you hold on to the currencies that you have pay for your surgery with it. you get a much better rate especially at BK paying with your own currencies.

  19. BK doesn't offer free pick up from the airport, even if you decide to have the surgery at their clinic. ID might, but you'll need to put a certain amount of deposit with them before they would pick you up from the airport. that is not really advicale since by paying a deposit, you losing at leverage that you may have when negoiating the price. my suggestion is simply take the limo bus from the airport to sinsa and from there, hail a cab to your hotel. you don't really need either Bk or ID to escort you all the way from the airport to the hotel. i can certainly assist you to arrange an appointment with ID and BK. but i would need to know the date of your arrival and the time you wish to have the consultation with them. i will KAKAO talk anna and joanne to arrange your appointment for you once i know the date and time you wish to have the consultation.

i really doubt you going to get a reply from highland since most of their speak only korean. i suggest that you simply drop by highland and book a room in person. there usually have plenty of room to spare. if you want, i can ask my friend from korea to help you book a room at highland, just incase if there are no response from highland through email.

i'm not sure about ID service going down. but i'm not sure about their quality. thus far i haven't heard any complaint about bad result coming out of ID. maybe their post op care may not be up to par, but to me that doesn't mean the result i gotten from ID is the same. i had my 2 jaws done there and i love it. but i guess we all have different view and perception of what good service and quality is

my cheek and smile is doing fine. like you said, its only been 3 weeks, so there won't be a dramatic difference. but since i own my cheek and smile, i can say for sure that it is coming along nicely. i will post a picture of it later once i taken some more photo of my face. are you a working model?

coex is at samsung area which is near yeoksam. you would need to grab a cab or subway to get there. there is a hyundai supermarket near ID you can visit. there is also an subway entrace, exit number 5 at apgujong station if i'm not mistaken. whether you bring KRW would depend on the rate. i suggest you change some KRW at your country and change the rest at COEX mall casino. you get a better rate. some clinic will accept your local currencies, provided that your currencies is recognize by the bank in seoul. ite better to pay in your currencies, especially in BK. there give a rate from the internet which is a very high rate.

    hope this help

  20. my pleasure. keep your finger cross that 2 jaws isn't an option for you cause i'm telling you, its not the most pleasent experience

  21. hang in there my dear. there is a reason why it is called a recovery room. you won't get too much luxury while you're there. just focus your attention on resting and healing. i didn't like the recovery room that much either when i was there. but i bear with it until there move me to the guest house. the guest house is no more luxurious then the recovery room, so prepare some basic ameneties before you move to the guest house.

nose bleed is normal after a nose job. so don't be too concern about it. just make sure to take your medication at the recommended time and keep replacing your gel pack as soon as it get warm. there should have plenty of gel pack stock up in your recovery room, but maybe not in the guest house. i have to warn you though, the frezzer section of the fridge in the guest house is really small. you might only be able to fit 3 or 4 gel pack in there and its not very cold. i strongly suggest you make an ice pack instead.

    happy recovery my dear.
