I am happy at least you got some money back. No compensation is high enough for a botched surgery. You have to look at yourself in the mirror everyday and might affect your job performance and mental health. Good luck on your revision!!
I think you might be interested in Dr. Kazuaki Yamaguchi in Ginza, Tokyo. He did Airi Arimura’s surgery and she looks fantastic. He seems to have good taste, in my opinion.
I don’t recommend surgeries for symmetry. It is very difficult to achieve symmetry and it will require a lot of bone surgeries. It is expensive and high risk. I think you should start with something small, may be some skin care procedures. BTW your selfies doesn’t mean it’s the “true” you. You should take some pictures 2 meters away and check how you look in them .
I think it’s fine if you are young and have thin diamond shape face. I’ve seen people with broad jaw get this surgery and end up looking like an “otafuku.” I recommend consulting with a doctor to find out if you are a good candidate.
True! Age is also quite important. I find doc’s aesthetic is critical to a satisfying procedure. Some find procedures performed by some doctors are too subtle/extreme for their taste. I wish the search for reputable doctors would be easier in the future. I am truly glad that OP had successful revision and is moving on. It must have been emotionally, physically, and financially straining. There should be some laws set for PS docs to get proper training before claiming as such.
I’ve seen good result on a Asian girl before. She had very prominent protruding cheeks, enough to make her temples and jaws look concave. She was young, extremely slim (BMI18) with mantis-like short face. I think this procedure has so many problems because most people are not good candidates. I also considered such surgery when someone pointed out my prominent cheekbones, but I decided to not through with it because I have relatively long and fleshy face. The surgery would make my face look even longer and bottom heavy. Good luck!
Hello! I think this is a complicated topic, and I believe in the end, it really depends on the individual doctor’s abilities and not at all dependent on the doctor’s nationality or ethnicity. Of course, the patient must have reasonable expectations.
As far as I am concerned, the doctor’s skills are based on his/her taste in beauty and how many patients they’ve operated on. It doesn’t matter whether they graduated from Harvard med or Seoul National. It doesn’t matter whether they are professors who have published numerous papers. They have to have hands on experience and similar taste in beauty as their patients. This is why I believe certain ethnic surgeries (jaw reductions) are probably better to be performed in Asian countries.
I see what you mean showing too much pink. Although I honestly can’t tell that you had epi done (no scar,) it does have a hole-punched look. I believe the shape can be changed easily.
I’ve had PS done in Japan and I can say that they charge same amount for both foreigners and local Japanaese. I don’t recommend SBC based on their poor after care services and how young their doctors are; they could be very good but the amount of time for research is simply not available to me. I do believe Dr. Fukuda is a very good and experienced surgeon but am unsure if he ever did operate on AB. Dr. Fukuda is most famous for doing nose. Takasu Clinic is very famous because of their founding chairman, who is an audacious character. Takasu is known for conservative approach but there are many doctors working there so you should check who you’d like. I would NEVER pick a place based on cheap price. If you end up needing revision, it will cost you more money, time, and emotional devastation. Best of luck!!
It's my first time posting on TPF, but I want to share my experience. I've gotten double eyelid surgery in the U.S. (a Korean doctor who speaks fluent Japanese in Beverley Hills!), which ended in a TOTAL FAILURE. I am not even talking about the crease being too narrow, or too high, or not natural. They did not crease properly and left huge uneven scars on my face. He used thick absorbable sutures on my face, causing massive scarring (ppl will ask me what is wrong with my eyes--> car accidents?). NEVER TRUST A DOC WHO RECOMMENDS ABSORBABLE SUTURES!
