  1. internal incisions for alar reductions is more commonly known as alar base reduction. Instead of cutting the alars which normally leads to more external scarring, they cut a small section from the alar sill + use sutures to reduce the base/width of the nose.

if you have nostril flaring, cutting the alars is the best route. Avoid alar base reduction b/c it will increase flaring.

if you have wide nose base but no flaring, alar base reduction is effective.

if you have both a wide nosebase + flaring of the nose, a combination of both techniques should work. Really depends on your nose.

  2. reddelicious, thanks for sharing ur experience. Can't believe the doctor injected fillers into u after what you said.. Are the fillers permanent?

I have wide alars too btw. Was wondering how effective the internal incisions were at reducing your alars?

  3. Talk to ur surgeon about it. I'm sure it's different for each clinic so it's better if u communicate with them directly.

Congrats on ur surgery btw. Your bridge is probably going to get lower but at least a silicone implant replacement is easy to fix vs. infection or what not. Which clinic did u go to btw?

  4. Liara, ur nose looks awesome! The bridge looks really natural :O

Do you think you could show us a before shot?

  5. brklyngirlnyc- ur nose looks amazing!! I never considered doing my nose at item but now I'm thinking about it. Did you get much time with the doctor during ur consultation? Keep us posted on your healing

  6. Glad u love ur new nose Chrissy  Does your nose feel hard?

  7. Thanks for sharing ur experience with Life; I think this is the first time I've heard of them. Looking forward to your recovery story!

  8. VIPpatient - Oh, I'm so happy for u!! :yahoo:How much did the rhinoplasty cost at VIP? Do you think you can show us a before and after pic?

  9. OMG, good luck EspressoLatte on your trip!

  10. She didn't do it Aone... she did it at dr Jung shimmian clinic. I consulted with Aone, they do not use gortex.

  11. If u feel uncomfortable with the idea of using him, you can seek another surgeon. I would go back for the free revision b/c at least he knows what kind of nose you want and it doesnt seem like it was a technical error on his part but more so, the supplier who supplied the gortex. From what you said, it seems that his past patients were happy as well so why not.

  12. $8500, Seriously? I asked for a natural nose (nothing drastic) and Dr. Ting Wang quoted me $10000 USD for my primary nose job using silicone! When I asked him why it was so expensive for silicone, he never responded. I would definitely NOT go to a doctor who is unresponsive and for asking for so much money compared to what he quoted you. Maybe he's over charging me b/c I'm an international patient.. who knows.

  13. I've been doing lots of research on rhinoplasty in Asia and Korea.

I contacted Aone, and so far I'm leaning towards them. They only use the diced cartilage method to build the bridge. While I was hesitant first b/c many of u had bad experience with diced cartilage, I think I trust Dr. Kwon with it. Here's why:

    1. the clinic doesn't do much promo work but apparently are booked fully for locals and international patients which means they have a good reputation.

    2. I asked about the bumps and complications in regards to diced cartilage. The receptionist says it rarely happens at their clinic and recently no one has had any complications at all.

    3. the only reason I'm haven't flown over yet is because they said I should not proceed with a nose job unless I get a forehead lift otherwise, I would look too 'strong', (what does that mean?). I'm hesitant about the forehead lift and can't afford both procedures together which is about $10 000 + $1000 USD if they use rib grafting. They also said they would do fat grafting on my forehead + remove bags under my eye.

Another option was banobagi but they haven't responded to my email and another blogger stated that they were SUPER pricey. So I'm bummed out.

Some of u guys mentioned Dr. Ting Wong. I was interested in him as well, however, he quoted me 10 000$ USD for primary nose job with silicone implant!! :O For just a silicone implant, that's a rip off! Plus, he never did follow up on any of my other questions either.. so crossed him off the list.

Does anybody have any first hand experience with Dr. Kwon for Aone? I would love to see someone review him at this forum.
