I think it's a bit too early to tell if my surgery went well since it's still swollen and bruised. But, I'm happy that I got it done and over with. I was a bit nervous (my legs were shaking when I got into the operation room haha), but it wasn't that bad. I'll eventually post pictures or update my progress on here in about a month so please check back then for updates I think I'll have a clearer picture of how my surgery went when a bit more time passes. As for getting put to sleep, yes, I was put under sedation for about 5 minutes or so? I think most clinics in Korea do this for DES right now since it lessens the pain of the local anesthesia. And I actually prefer it since local anesthesia did hurt! Good luck with your PS journey! If you have any questions, feel free to PM me
Did my double eyelid surgery 2 days ago and I'm currently recovering! I have a quick question for those that underwent DES, did you guys apply an ointment or something on the scar? My doctor just told me to use cold packs and take medicine for 3 days to help with the swelling but didn't give an ointment or anything to apply onto the scar.
I heard that both doctors are good. I just consulted with Dr. Ryu because Dr. Jang is gonna be in and out of the office next week according to the consultant. So, she wanted me to consult with Dr. Ryu just in case something happens and I need to see the doctor during the recovery period. I think I first read about them on a forum written in English (don't really recall which one it was since I've been going through many different plastic surgery forums), but I ended up mainly reading about them on Korean Naver cafes. I do speak/read Korean so it was easier for me. If you're in Korea, you should ask for a consultation with Dr. Ryu as well and see which doctor you prefer.
You're going for double eyelid revision? I consulted with Dr. Ryu. The consultant mentioned that there's two doctors that do mostly eyes. I think it was Dr. Ryu and Dr. Jang. You're lucky you got to wait for only 10 minutes! I waited for over 30 minutes today...maybe because plastic surgery clinics are getting busy now - since a lot of students finished the national high school exam, a lot of them are doing plastic surgery now. I saw a bunch today at the hospitals I visited. I don't know how Wannabe is with revisions, but I think they're okay for eyes. When I went today, I didn't see any foreigners and I usually see Wannabe on Korean sites...so, you probably won't be able to see a lot of reviews about them. I liked them though...I think I might actually request a second consultation so I can ask some more questions - I was nervous since it was the first clinic I visited and forgot to ask some questions.
Finished my consultation for 3 clinics today. Here's a brief summary of each clinic...it might be helpful for the people wanting to go to these clinics.
Wannabe: I spoke with the consultant first. She used a small tool to create different types of lines on my eyes (infold, outfold, in-outfold). She recommended I do in-outfold with incisional method. She stated that the non-incisional method would probably become undone in the future. She said I couldn't do latheral cantho with my eyes and could do epi if I wanted. I spoke with the doctor afterwards. He stated that I would look best with either infold or in-outfold, and said that I had slight ptosis on one eye, but he said it wasn't severe enough to go for ptosis correction. He also stated that there's the option of doing slight epi which would open up my eyes a bit. But, he said that too much wouldn't be good since my eyes may look too close together. He also said latheral cantho wasn't possible with my eyes. He showed me pictures on his computer of people who he's operated on, and how eyes would look with/without epi surgery. But again, he stated that epi was an option, not necessarily necessary. He didn't explain as thoroughly as the doctor at Yonsei first, but he wasn't bad. Felt that this clinic wasn't pushy with trying to get its customers to pay for unnecessary procedures which I liked. Wait time: 35 minutes with appt. Total procedure: double eyelid incisional method + epi (optional); I only got a quote for double eyelid incisional method though.
Braun: Spoke with the consultant first. She recommended either partial incision or non-incision. She also talked about doing epi. Then I spoke with the doctor. Whoa...he talked WAY too fast and the consultation was hastily done. He tried out a couple different lines on my eyes with his eye tool, then proceeded to draw a bunch of pictures with eyes and how he'd do the surgery. He recommended that I do non-incisional with an in-outfold, get small eyelids, remove some fat from my lids, do epi, and he also stated that I had slight ptosis but it wasn't necessary to do ptosis correction. Overall, they recommended non-incision with epi. This place seemed very "factory-like,"...it was consultation with consultant, then doctor, then consultant. Oh yea, wait time = 30 minutes with appt. Total procedure: epi + double eyelid non-incisional
Yonsei First: This was the smallest clinic with only one doctor. I met with the consultant first. She stated that I had ptosis and would probably need to do ptosis correction, epi, and double eyelid surgery with the incisional method and in-fold. I met the doctor and he stated the same thing. He was very thorough though, which I liked. But he indicated that ptosis was absolutely necessary along with epi. He also stated that I needed to remove some skin on my eyelids, but fat removal wasn't necessary (he said it was more bone than fat). While I liked the doctor and he seemed very meticulous, I felt like they were enforcing too many things when 2 other doctors said that ptosis correction was unnecessary. Maybe he's right or the other two doctors are wrong...hmmm..Wait time was around 30 minutes as well. Total procedures: epi + double eyelid incisional + ptosis correction
I don't want to post the prices I got quoted publicly because I don't want to be seen as advertising any of these clinics, so if you're interested in how much I was quoted, please private message me! I'll be happy to provide it that way. Anyways, still got a bit of thinking to do. But, I think I'm leaning towards Wannabe.
Has anyone contacted JW before via Kakao? I'm heading to Korea this upcoming week, and I would like to add JW to the list of clinics I visit...but they haven't responded to my Kakao.
Ohhh I see. If you're just planning on checking out Wonjin for rhino, then you should go ahead and have a consultation. Wonjin is pretty well-known for noses. I think Braun PS is good for noses as well. I'm going there to consult for double eyelids but I've read several people recommend Braun for rhino as well. Are you planning on going to a local friendly clinic or one targeted for mainly foreigners? If you're looking for clinics for foreigners, check out Oz. There's some good reviews on rhino for Oz. And yup, I'm heading out next week. Kind of excited and scared at the same time since I'm planning on going to the consultations by myself. I speak enough Korean since I'm ethnically Korean but I'm pretty sure the clinics are going to know I'm from out of the country since I dress, talk, etc. differently than Koreans there. And I can do conversation Korean but I'm not too familiar with more difficult vocabulary unfortunately!
I've been reading reviews online and most of them seem to be related to double eyelid surgery more so than rhino. The thing I don't like about Wonjin is that it's too "factory"-like, which is the main reason I did not want to go to Wonjin. There's MANY surgeons there - I think it was 20+. I believe my friend had her nose done by the head doctor Dr. Park. Don't have before/after pictures as I just saw it in person, and plus, she wouldn't want me to share. For double eyelid surgery, what kind of double eyelids do you want? Natural/subtle or more drastic? How about your price range? And are you planning on doing just double eyelids or other eye procedures - ptosis correction, latheral cantho, epi, etc? A few posts back, I listed the doctors I'm planning on consulting with next week for double eyelid surgery..and even though I don't have first hand experience with those doctors, I've found them to be pretty good from reading posts on Naver cafe.
This is NOT a blacklist, don't worry. And I've seen several negative reviews about Wonjin...but from my friend's personal experience, her outcome turned out great for rhinoplasty. She would recommend Wonjin (and she's a local) since Wonjin is known for rhino. But, I've seen too many negative reviews recently so I probably wouldn't go there.
I haven't heard of Real before. I'm scared to do ptosis correction because I've seen so many cases where the double eyelids turned out uneven before of ptosis correction. Hopefully, I don't have to do that. I'm thinking of doing double eyelid with incision method and latheral cantho (mainly because I feel like the width of my eyes are too small), but I may just go with double eyelid surgery since most of the doctors in Korea are not yet fully experienced with latheral cantho. I was thinking Regen at first, but they're known more for skin care than for the plastic surgery portion. I was also thinking of going to Girin, but the plastic surgeon is out of the country for a seminar while I'm in Korea so I crossed that off my list. I'm going to have consultations with Top Class, Wannabe, Yonsei First, and Braun. Braun and Wannabe is my top choices so far. I've been wanting to consult with one more clinic, but I can't find another one. I really wanted to go to Girin..but I guess the timing isn't right I hope you can find a better surgeon for your revision! It'll turn out well so don't worry too much.
I heard Braun and Wannabe were good too, especially Wannabe seems to be pretty popular among locals. I am going for double eyelid surgery for the first time so I've been looking for clinics that are good with eyes. If you're considering revision eyelid surgery, then maybe you should check out Lee Hee Moon (or Eye Magic). He does only eyes and I heard he's pretty expensive, but I've seen many people suggest him on Naver for revisions. Braun's website is http://www.braunps.co.kr/ I'll definitely report back after the consultations, and update you guys on the double eyelid surgery process. Oh yea, if I may ask, where did you undergo your first double eyelid surgery?
Okay so I just made my appointment for Braun PS, Top Class, Wannabe, and Yonsei First after looking at reviews on various Naver cafes. I am thinking of adding one more clinic (probably a more foreigner friendly clinic as the other clinics are more popular with locals)...possibly Grand, but I've been hearing mixed reviews. Anyone know of any clinics that specialize in eyes? My top choice is Wannabe and Top Class, but I'm open to suggestions. Oh yea, and for those that did double eyelid surgery...when you went to the consultations, did you wear eye makeup? Or did you not wear eye makeup?
Just booked my flight. I'll be there from November 7th~19th. I'm thinking of doing double eyelid with either epi and/or cantho. After searching through Naver, I'm thinking of consulting with Yonsei First, Yes, MS (it's in Bundang I believe...my friend stated that Hong Yong Gi the ulzzang did her eyes here...but I heard the surgeon is good with eyes in general), Chungdam U, Rex, and Wannabe...and possibly Eye Magic (they only do plastic surgeries related to the eyes which is good...but I heard it's expensive). Anyone have any experience/ heard of any of these clinics? Or any suggestions? I'm trying to avoid "factory" plastic surgeons so to speak, and I would prefer more natural and subtle than the dolly style eyes.
OH YEA...and that is NOT a blacklist. It's just a list of clinics. On the top, it specifically says it's NOT a blacklist. The red portion with the larger font says "This list has absolutely no relationship with blacklist."
I am planning on getting double eyelid surgery and have been looking at clinics. Has anyone heard of Hershe? There's celebrity photos and such, but I'm not sure if the celebrities actually did surgeries there, or if those photos are more for promotional purposes.
