Hi everyone I am planning to go to Seoul next week (~15-19 July 2015) for DES, ptosis correction and epicanthoplasty. It will be my first trip to Korea and I have not booked flights or accommodation yet. I am going to consult at Teuim - Dr Kwon for sure and probably a few others.
Can someone in the July kakao chatgroup add me there? My ID is salad126
I'm wondering if your other half will be accompanying you for your PS trip like me? We are likely to go from May 2014onwards. If you are planning on major invasive surgery like me (cheekbone&jaw, eyes) likely unable to step out for a couple of days, so maybe we can accompany each other while the guys go out and play? Please get in touch
Hey thanks, I quite like JK for facial contouring but can't find much details on the English website. What are the prices they quote u? So they have an in-house English coordinator then! Are u staying overnight? tell me more ok? I will prob email JK soon...
Whoot u went to Woffles Wu for nj! How did it turn out? He is ranked top 10 for PS in the world but we rather go Korea hehehe...
Hey mwol, u need to rmbr tt my response is as such cos u took my post personally and find it "annoying" that I asked for specifics and details. That's why I told ya to chill cos when a person asks for advice on forum, the more response the merrier?
I just look at kpsurgery purely to see consolidation of B&A in Korea. I'm aware tt it is a student who is an overseas born half Korean. She prob can't read Hangul so only recommends big well-known clinics? So no worries, won't take her advice seriously.
Appreciate ur input on DAPRS! I have actually seen many B&A pictures on kpsurgery.co without crediting the clinic name so it was a pleasant surprise to know tt they operated at View/DAPRS.
You mentioned PRP postop, which should be platelet-rich plasma injection made from one's own blood and concentrated in platelets, as the name suggests?I was wondering more of any hair wash, who removes the stitches (doc or nurse), any hospitalization, the service of the care-givers, any skin care treatments etc.
For surgery method u only mentioned "cutting method that minimize(s) bleeding", I am wondering about usage of screws which was not mentioned until your post above. Plastic surgery is a life-changing procedure which is why most of us get on forums for information even more than a year before planning to go Korea, sorry if I ask too much but where else can I get info if the website is incomprehensible to me lol.
For your B&A, all 4 girls have v-shaped chins. Exactly what I don't want. Which was why I made a passing comment about the need to login. Please don't feel a need to respond to all DAPRS posts or feel a responsibility to "mother" this thread abt DAPRS, You would agree the more opinions/reviews sought from DIFFERENT entities about a clinic, the more reliable are the reviews. So I'm trying to seek others opinion as well. Still you have been extremely helpful so really appreciate that lots!
Mwol, I am looking for more B&A without V-line as I'm leaning towards square-jaw/cheekbone reduction. A few B&A of what has been posted here feature V-shaped faces. No worries, it was more of a passing comment anw.
Can anyone advise about post-op care and the methods use for square-jaw, cheekbone and V-line at DAPRS? I can't understand Hangul so it is rather hard to trust a clinic I know nothing about! Why do I need to login to see the Before&After pics on the site? :/
I notice a few uneven eyelids from DAPRS though, is it cos the swelling hasn't completely gone down? I'm definitely doing my eyes, cheekbone and jaw so I need a place that's good at all these.
Obvious one is the hair! Next is the bug-like eyes. Screams of fake to me.
I saw a YouTube video of an American teacher about culture in Korea and she says that Photoshop is a must even for company ID pictures. Photoshop for touch-ups like hair color, blemishes are fine but not fakes.
Wahahaha my suspicions confirmed! From her Google link she indicated tt she is Msian/lives in M'sia. Correct me if I'm wrong, but English-educated m'sians can't possibly use such broken English; her English is clearly too basic for her age. Her eyes also look very weird from the epi and some pictures were definitely weird and photoshopped.
I was impressed with her pics at first but the clinic website has no decent 'transformation' other than hers. Definitely blacklist this clinic.
TLPS website states that all 3 methods of their cheekbone reduction involve incision on the cheek (and oral incision for dramatic changes). Any complaints abt tt since it will leave a visible scar won't it?
Mentioned this b4 in another thread, Grand is advertising a 'celebrity' Yoon Hyun-sook for two-jaw surgery who was operated on by a doctor who has left. I happened to realize this when I saw her picture repeated on the website of Life Plastic Surgery.
I Skype with the coordinator and she confirmed tt Dr Rhee of Life Plastic Surgery performed two-jaw on this lady. But she definitely had other procedures done to make her look so much younger (it is Photoshopped)
If Grand is still advertising the work of a doctor who has left, then the resident doctor must have no good works to feature so don't go with Grand.
Life PS is very new so that is still a question mark too.
I came across Life on a medical portal. I asked for a discount and was given one that made quite some difference so you should ask for it! If you read another thread I posted I realize that Dr Rhee used to be from Grand and he is the one behind their star advertisement Yoon Hyun-sook for her two-jaw. Still, just two-jaw alone won't make her two two decades younger so I am not so sure about him as he just set up his own practice.
Thanks for ur detailed reply mwol. I will def look into the clinics u suggested. I just joined this forum so really appreciated if you can forward me info abt View/Dr Lee thanks in advance!
Has anyone been to DAPRS either for consultation or surgery with Dr Lee? Seems that he can produce dramatic effect, even a lil "Gangnam girl" with the V-line. Please share your reviews!
Hey Rapid, thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. the forum page tt u gave only mentions BK and VIP, nothing about Wonjin though. I do see M's feedback on Page 421
Hey hope you got that cyst cleared up! It sounds like milia or clogged oil gland, could it be due to some rich cream they gave you post op? If you are willing to share B&A pics privately, that will be great! my email is [email protected]
Hey is your trip confirmed? A consultant told me it is better to go during colder months so I won't feel hot and stuffy with the bandages but I prob can't make it any sooner due to $$. I was thinking May /June 2914 too.
Dear all,
I'm planning to go Korea for plastic surgery (Square jaw/cheekbone/eyes) in 2014 so I've begun email correspondence with clinics such as Cinderella, Banobagi, Grand, BK, Wonjin and Life. I was very impressed with Jewelry but didn't email them since they don't have English coordinator (although they replied me to say they have a Chinese one). Some comments and questions based on my email correspondences below:
Cinderella- prices quoted are super high and this clinic recommended the most procedures. Taking out hair transplant which no other clinic mentioned, it still cost 32.5mil won which is DOUBLE the average quotation of all other clinics!
Banobagi- has a good reputation so I will definitely visit them for consultation. I am recommended "All-for-one" and 3D Rotation Malar Reduction. Can anyone who has done these surgeries before share your experience with me? Hebe mentioned sagging is possible in the email so I'm a lil worried.
BK - I had video conf with Anna Jeong and Dr Kim himself. He shouted at me over Skype just because I turned my head instead of tilting (as he wanted to scan my face to deem suitability for surgery). It was an awkward consultation thereafter and I must say he turned me off. Not sure if Anna has had plastic surgery but as a clinic representative, her looks do not appeal to me.
Wonjin- the stimulated picture they sent back to me after ages (ok maybe 3 weeks?) is rather nice in a natural way, but the changes are very subtle which makes me wonder if the surgery is worth it? I have very small eyes and hoping to get somewhat dolly big eyes. Heh... Anybody went to Wonjin for eyes, cheekbone or jaw? Please give a shoutout!
Lastly, Life - I was trying to reach Wonjin on some portal and the system encouraged me to send the same enquiry just by ticking some other clinics. So I choose Life since it was one of the options. I was intending to ignore them (the consultant actually called me two times on my mobile to ask me to provide my picture for stimulation so I had the impression that they don't have much business). But!!!!! It seems like the Before&After picture that has everyone going "wow!!" at Grand; specifically Yoon Hyun-Sook with her two-jaw surgery (featured on Grand main website) but looks two decades younger is done by the doctor Sewhan Rhee who is now at Life Plastic Surgery!!! I made this discovery after seeing her posing with the doctor on Life's website; she even scribbled something and signed on the Polaroid. The consultant confirmed that Dr Rhee did her two-jaw when I asked. I guess he got famous for her startling change and decided to start his own clinic? Can anyone confirm this? I'm not sure if I should hand my face to him since this clinic is virtually unheard of, think it just started not long ago? If anyone is a past patient of Dr Rhee, please PM me!
So I have learnt that doctors come and go, esp at the bigger clinics/hospital) so when looking at Before&After it is also important to know which doctor performed the surgery! It would be such a disaster to go to a clinic by their pictures when the doctor responsible for the change is long gone but the clinic continue to promote using the same patients.
