  1. I had mine done at the Dream by Dr YongWoo Jo.

And I won't be checking these posts anymore, so good luck everyone!

  2. Hi,

It has beena while since my post.

I didn’t want to rush to post here with my progress until I have clear view on this topic.

I had beenback to Korea since my last post.

To cut the long story short - aculift wasn'tworkable(it could have worked on younger skin) but I had a fat graft oncheek area where it had become quite flat after facelift, and it is slightly bettersince.

Red scarsbehind ears are a lot better and can't see much of redness.

De-swellingcontinues even after 1year mark, and my face looks a lot more natural than itwasa year ago.

I had onesteroid injection on raised scars behind ears by the local surgeon, and it’sworking well and it has gone down a lot.

One side ofear is slightly pulled back at the bottom. I was told it would be ok after allsettled down but I am not holding my breath on that.

So it's alot of improvement after 1year. But would I do this again after been through allthis? My answer will be 50/50. Some partof my face has gotten better and younger, but I feel I have lost naturalbeauty and suffered quite a bit along the way.

However IfI start from the scratch, I would have out sought a reputable local surgeon who isspecialised in facelift instead of going all the way to Korea. The price savingdidn't justify for the travel cost and anxiety etc in my case.

Anyway for thosewho will choose to go through this path I wish all the best and lots of luck.

  3. I know it depends on a lot on individual, but what you described seems also applies to me.

I's been 9months since I had done mine, and my face is still going through de-swelling process. Even in the last month or so it has come down a lot. I still am not happy with the result, but it's better by miles compared to 1month after the surgery.

  4. I am planning to be in Korea at the beginning of October for a couple of weeks to explore options.

I will be looking at aculift and fat graft to even out areas I am not happy with.

@ Mrsking, you might be already in Seoul? Hope things work out great for you.

  5. Hi Susaki & Mrsking,

Sorry I haven't been able to check this website, I have quite a lot going on at mo.

I'm still hesitant to name the clinic on this site, but please PM me and I will let you know.

    Thanks

  6. To answer some of you

    Where do I start

My mid face wasn’t too bad, but lower part and neck was showing earlier sign of laxity problem as I have thin skin. Dr has done a ok job with neck but there is rather a long scar under the chin which I am not happy about although hard to notice as it’s under the chin.

He has grafted fat to cheek area as I liked slightly them higher and fuller, but one side is significantly less in proportion, that I am hiding it carefully with my long hair whenever I am in public. There was a little dent in one side of jowl I asked him to fix with a bit of fat graft. He has injected a little too much on it now that area is hanging downwards.

The biggest disappointment is jowl area. There is a slight improvement but after such a major procedure? The face became squar-ish, long, flat rather than voluminous because jowl hasn't been lifted enough.

I was told that the lift I had was a deep plane lift (or MACS lift) which lifts the smas layer. It wasn’t just a pulling the outer layer of skin type.

I still have some settling down to go as the lower part of face feels quite thick and heavy. I will give another few months, and if it doesn’t improve I may look into revision for jowl area, and that’s regardless more fat graft to even out cheeks.

I don’t know whether the other patients had similar problem with my Dr. I heard very positive review about him on this website, which was a big influence in my decision to go along with him, although that review wasn’t directly from the person who had surgery herself.

I had visited five clinics in total while I was in Seoul. It was late December and all the clinics were extremely busy. Average waiting time to see doctors was a couple of hours, and with one particular clinic I had to wait four hours to see the doctor as he was toooo busy. And the quality of consultation? How could you do a proper consultation in a few minutes, but that was norm everywhere. It was CRAZY and I SHOULD have stopped there and then. I should have planned for another visit when it was less busier.

Also all those information I had from various clinics were very confusing. I had done the research before going to Seoul but still I needed time to digest/check if they were valid etc. It was stressful I was thrown into a situation that I had to make a decision without confidence. In the end I took the bullet.

I don’t discourage people having the facelift. When it’s done nicely it will be a great booster. However it is a major surgery and you should be prepared for a long healing process (if it ever comes out nicely at all). There is no guarantee in the cosmetic procedure no matter how good the surgeon is. The outcome also greatly depends on the individual’s skin conditions and healing etc.

@ motherhen, sorry to hear about yours dear. Unlike you I looked terrible shortly after surgery. I was a freak and I feared looking at myself in the mirror then. It took a long time for my tissues to settle down and majority of irregularities to even out.

If your face is hollow and gaunt, a fat graft could be an option? Yes we need a sculpturing expert with good aesthetic artist.

About naming the clinic, I am going to give a few more months to fully assess the outcome as often they say the facelift recovery takes at least a year etc. Also I haven’t ruled out the possibility of discussing adjustment with him. Will see.

@ mrsking, like a lot of people I had bad asymmetry. My right side was perfect but left side was a lot gaunt and skinner. Dr said he would try to make the asymmetry less obvious but I will give 60 - 70% on his effort. But more concern for me right now is my bottom face which is very chubby in that some people commented if I have gained weight.

At this stage I haven’t got dates when I will visit Korea, but will let you know if I will be there similar time. Good luck with your research in the meantime!

  7. I am in my late 40s. I did a mid facelift and nose revision this January in one of reputable clinics in Korea. I am very unhappy with the result, the aesthetic outcome has been poor and I still have red skin behind my ears that I still can put my hair up. I have been waiting patiently with hope that it may improve but I clearly see now what had gone wrong and further improvement would be unlikely.

After such a cost and pain etc it is very disheartening.

Knowing what I know now, I didn't really need a facelift except the lose skin just underneath chin which could have corrected with small excision to remove the skin, and a bit of graft would have been perfect. I look at my old photos and I miss her. There was a bit of sagging but she looked supple and beautiful, it looks weird and unnatural.

I am planning to visit Korea in the next couple of months to see what can be done to improve the aesthetics/shape, and also looking into nose revision.

Please DO NOT rush. That is my biggest regret.

If anyone knows any doc in Seoul with good aesthetics (not just skills) and experience I would appreciate info. Thanks.

  8. thanks for that, KCouture. have since checked your post about consultations in Korea. that was a wake up call i have to say! i have taken up your advice and decided to take time to check the potential clinics. Much appreciated!

  9. Hi there,

I am going to Korea at the end of this month for nose revision and a couple of other procedures. I will check two others clinics but 99% sure I will have it done at OZ. I have done zygoma reduction at OZ last year and am very happy with recovery and the result.

Let me know if you are going around the same time and etc. I can't PM you as I have just joined etc... :graucho:
