I am only on my third day and my gosh the swelling keeps getting worst. I've reading online and assume it should get better around the 5-7th day? What did you get done? Yes I am here alone 😁 I still have my eyes, lipo/fat graft to do tomorrow!

I'm doing 3d zygoma reduction and square jaw only, i will get there and bargain the chin procedure because i am also looking into doing other things (paranasal implant, fat graft and lower canthoplasty) i just made sure to get the important ones first. i think it will be easier once am face to face anyways.

I finally bargained the price from smps down to 8,000 USD that is equivalent to 8,788,360 KRW for forehead implant, zygoma reduction and mandible reduction. is that still too much??

Fat graft doesn't prevent sagging. It can conceal the signs of signing that's all. The only procedure which can revert sagging is a lift. For the forehead implant can I ask where you are going to get this done? Most clinics don't seem to like using implants. I think Item is the one of those who does forehead implant but as far as I'm aware in the form of bone cement.

Sagging will always happen after zygoma and mandible reduction. There's no two ways around it. But the degree to which sagging occurs depends on whether or not you are a candidate for the procedures, your skin condition (elasticity), your age, strength of supporting muscles and the amount of bone resected. I've seen very few ppl who actually DID NOT have sagging after their facial bone reductions, and that's because they were older patients who had a lift performed together with their bone contouring. To add, some younger people don't even notice their sagging until later on because it is mild soon after surgery. However it does cause premature sagging so sooner or later it will become more visible.

I am traveling to korea in June to get zygoma reduction, mandible reduction and forehead implant. I wanted to ask if my skin will sag after these procedures therefore will i need a fat graft after or is there a more permanent procedure? i did fat graft before and loved it but after a few months it was almost all gone. Hey guys,

I did my 'virgin' nose job with this clinic last April. I decided on doing only tipplasty and alarplasty because like many of you I was very resistant to the thought of having something artificial in my body, and being an athlete in contact sports I didn't want to compromise on my performance. I had originally wanted to be extremely meticulous in my research (after all, this is my nose and my face) and had a hefty list of clinics I wanted to visit. The entire experience of landing alone in a foreign country after a 17-hour flight with zilch understanding of the language is seriously a shock to the senses, and if you know you're not very mentally strong please don't underestimate the effect this sense of alienation can have. In the end i went for 2 clinics, JW and Pitangui.

The first consultation was with JW. The doctor was not Dr Suh but rather a young doctor who seemed to have been called from the middle of surgery. He focused only on my problem area but insisted that I had to have bridge augmentation on top of my tipplasty and alarplasty. He was also rather blunt about the fact that most of the time patients who undergo rhinoplasty with implants would return for revision after a few years. Ha-ha. Note that he meant this not just for his clinic but in general.

After this consultation I went off to Pitangui. There should have been this sense of foreboding because the JW consultant smirked when she heard that I was going over, and she uhm, wished me luck...

The English-speaking consultant at Pitangui had been very prompt and responsive in her emails, and after JW I was relieved to be able to speak with someone rather fluent in English, the consultant having studied in Switzerland. They were very quick to agree to what I wanted- just tip and alar, no bridge. It seemed good at first because they agreed to what I wanted so readily, but in retrospect the JW surgeon was so much better in insisting that I had to have bridge augmentation too, for they know that onlly with bridge augmentation is the entire overall appearance of the nose improved.

Once I said I wanted surgery, the consultatnt definitely went into hunter mode. It was about 6pm but she was like yeah you can have surgery in an hours' time. Dr Yoo was called from mid-surgery to talk to me. He was weary and looked grumpy, and being so experienced has most probably already become jaded with what he probably sees as the superficiality of the scores of wannabes going to his clinic...I made the rooky mistake too of saying I wanted a nose like the consultant's, at which he sighed, rolled his eyes and went I cannot give you what you want. It turned out that he had performed 5 surgeries that day and was rather tired. By then i knew I wanted to have surgery with them, because the price I was quoted was really low (1300usd if I'm not wrong). Bear in mind though that Pitangui only seems cheaper because the cost of an overall rhinoplasty is broken down into many separate components- if you add them up altogether they are actually more expensive than some of the clinics out there with perhaps less able English translators but more caring staff..

The operating room was indeed as described by the other posters. The staff were... inexperienced I think. Although they were very very nice and sweet. But then again I think that locals in general are this nice and sweet (correct me if I am wrong in this...). I woke up before the operation had ended, which was so scary. I was partially sedated and so was too groggy to panic, but I distinctly remember them laughing and felt the needle going in and out of my alars as Dr Yoo sewed them up... it didn't seem that scary at that time but in retrospect I don't ever want to experience that again. Period. It is also dangerous I think, because even though your senses work the sedatives mean that sometimes you are unable to respond or make enough noise for them to notice you need help.

Post-op care was bad. Sorry. The nurses didn't seem to know what they were doing, and if you looked through my earlier post I had a piece of cotton wool stuck to my stitches, which meant that my alars did not heal properly. Post-op care is nothing to be scoffed at. In fact, I think it's equally if not more important than the actual operation itself.

I haven't had enough experience with other clinics so I will post again after this revision, but after reading the experiences of others I think that it really is a hit and miss, and what matters is that you click with both the surgeon and the consultants, and that you do take good care of yourself and receive adequate post-op treatment. I was quite happy with my alars at first until that piece of cotton wool got lodged in the wound. Also, do remember that doctors do sometimes know what is best for you. My nose is decent but looks awful from the side and at angles because I have a non-existent bridge. Sometimes they are not trying to upsell you but are rather really thinking about what will look best. Also, I don't really think my operation was very well-performed..the tip of my nose remains bulbous and when I went for consultation for revision rhinoplasty even the surgeons didn't realise I'd had a nose job done... whether that is good or bad is up to anyone's guess.

But there you go. My two cents' worth. Sorry for the long rant- I tend to ramble a lot :greengrin:

I'm glad you had a good experience because I would only wish for everyone to have good surgeries and outcome. Everyone who goes to these consultations are having high hopes and believing that they will leave beautiful. My experience was terrible and I am not satisfy but I wrote the reviews only to share my experience, not to speak badly about the surgeons or the clinic. If you would like to see how my nose turned out.. I will be gladly to email you the pictures. To think it is in the center of my face. I am counting down the days until I am back in seoul to fix it. I can barely get myself to go socialize because I am so insecure about it. But everyone recovers differently. Please do go to the consultations and decide for yourself. good luck everyone

Yes Dr. Yoo was the one performing the procedures. I asked specifically that only Dr. Yoo worked on me because I've read that sometimes they tell you one person and once you go to sleep they let some trainee work on you. He woke me up while working on my rhinoplasty and I'm not sure if everyone also did that. I didn't have to do that in the US.

I did full face for 1,500,000krw. I believe it is 1000krw= <1USD about 90cents. So it was roughly 1500usd. I had a discount for getting multiple procedures.

Hi everyone! Just my little input on Pitangui. I had plastic surgery done at Pitangui in October 2013. I had my eyes revised, rhino revision, fat graft and magic thread lift for my laugh lines. I have to say their clinic is very nice when first entering. Nicole and the girls were all very nice. I was told that I will be able to speak to him right before surgery to go through any other details I was concerned about. I went in for the consultation and paid for it all in cash about 8,000USD, which I think is a pretty great deal! I booked my procedures for the same day at 5pm. I went in and they took me into the recovery rooms to change etc.. went into the surgery room to take pictures and take IV. The recovery rooms were not nice, felt like an insane asylum. The surgery room was even worst. It was smaller than my bathroom. I'm not exaggerating. If anyone had surgery here I think they can agree. It did not seem professional at all. Something in my stomach said this isn't right..But I already paid and there was no turning back. As I laid on the surgery table waiting for the chief surgeon, I could hear him working on another patient next door ( doors were paper thin), I can hear a little screaming a little moaning, drilling and what not. I waited about 30-45 minutes before he came in. As soon as he came in, I wanted to say something because they said I would be able to but he immediately started pumping me with meds and before I knew it, I awoke to him telling me to look straight because he was working on my nose. It was REDICULOUSLY PAINFUL. THE WHOLE PROCEDURE. I was crying and telling them give me more meds but they were all just trying to calm me down. I wasn't being a cry baby, I had my eyes and nose done in the US prior to this and it was nothing like this. I felt like I was in a horror movie. After the agony was over, I was taken to the recovery room where I literally laid for 10 minutes before you hurried me out, told me here is my cab and turned back. WTF?! I'm a foreigner, alone, after having 4 procedures doped up on meds.. you just left me there with the cab driver that doesn't speak english? ok..

Anyways that was beyond the point but to conclude, my experience with Pitangui was not pleasant. I had high hopes for this place. I did a lot of research with other places and also went for different consultations at BK, DR OZ, GRAND.. I went with pitangui because the they were around the longest, the surgeon was very thoroughly and knowledgeable about everything we talked about. sighhhhh -______-

As for the outcome, my nose is not all how I wanted it to be. The tip is very bulbous, my bridge is not entered and is too low. I initially asked for a facelift and they said no, it was unnecessary and offered the magic thread lift only. I regret taking their advice because it didn't provide the dramatic change I had hoped for. It's been 3 months since my surgeries, I contacted Pitangui about my problems and they offered to fix my nose free of charge. I am coming back to Seoul in April to touch up my fat graft. Should I let them revise my nose or should I opt to go elsewhere? Any thoughts?
