Hi All,

I wanted to give back to the community since I was able to prep so much for my surgeries because of the forums and KKT chats. Here is a summary of my prep and also consults/surgery journey.

Disclaimer: I don’t have a medical background and I am only sharing my own preparation, experience and my own assumptions. I received a discount from the clinic to write a review but this review is my honest opinion.

Procedures: Revision DES + epi, Primary Rhino ( bridge, tip projection and (short) nose elongation) and full face PRP fat graft.

Pre-surgery context:
I’ve had an issue with my short and flat nose from the moment I was told by a (caucasian) classmate I had a flat nose when I was in kindergarten. I learned about Rhinoplasty (when I turned 13) and knew I’d someday get that surgery. Fast forward to 2019 I thought I might as well add DES and Fatgraft to my trip as well. So here we are.

This was my 3rd time in Korea as I’ve been here before to get filler for my nose and do consultations. I consulted many (15+) clinics, but will only talk about my shortlist for this recent trip as these were the places I was most confident in (aesthetically).

A doll line nose bridge (basically sloped nose bridge instead of straight) and parallel creased eyes. I knew I needed to have fatgraft as well to balance these features so I took that into account in my budget. I prepared pics of eyes and noses I wanted, I also photoshopped my own pictures and printed out these infographics to really make sure the doc and I are talking about the same things:

Pre-surgery preparation list:

Scar gels: Kelo Cote and Dermatix Ultra.

Supplements I’d been taking to prep for surgery a week before: 1000mg Bromelain (for swelling), 1000mg Vitamin C (collagen and just for not getting sick/a cold), multivitamin and Arnica pills (for bruising).
(When I was at 2 days post-op I was having a hamtaro-like swelling, so I got desperate and also bought the expensive after care plus packet of ampoules and supplements (available in any pharmacy in Gangnam area only).)

Things I brought with me that really helped (aside from supplements and scar creams):

a mini humidifier for the nights against dry throat/nose (bought a cheap one on aliexpress).

Large disposable face masks for the times you go outside and don’t want to be stared at (aliexpress is cheaper than buying them in country)

A visor cap as you can’t put on sunglasses when you’ve had rhino.

Wide or buttoned clothes as you don’t want to push your face through tight clothing.

A decently sized mirror (I wanted to really check on my progress).

Headband to keep your hair back as pony tails can hurt after multiple days.

Pills for sore throat, constipation (I didn’t have it but it does happen to some people that go under GA/sleep sedation) and lip balm. Your lips will get dry from all the breathing out of your mouth.

Micellar water/face wipes as you can’t wash your face until stitches are out.

Buy at 7/11 upon arrival: a lot of facial tissues, qtips, lots of bottled water, food for the mornings/first day(s) (I loved this premade congee I could warm up in the microwave), mouth water (Listerine), a small toothbrush (as I couldn’t open my mouth wide enough for my electric toothbrush the first few days), candy (e.g. Ricola) to suck on during your dry throat period, gum (it’s nicer to smell mint in your facemask than your own breath) and a T-money card for all your public transport travels.

The Uber app works again in Korea and also UberEats will be your friend for food.

Exchange your (cash) money for the best exchange rate in myeongdong right across the Chinese Embassy.

Consultations:
I did not lock in a surgery date with any clinic before I flew to Seoul as I knew you had to put down a 10% deposit prior and I wanted to have more bargaining power during my f2f. Because I was doing multiple procedures I was fairly confident they'd fit me in somewhere in my 10 days stay as it’s not the busiest season of the year. It doesn’t give you any peace of mind though, so you have to decide for yourself how much risk you’d like to take (or you can decide to stay longer). Please note that this already is a shortlist of clinics I was confident in (through previous research):

View:
It was my third consult in view and one tip I've learned is that aside from Korean people, the better prices will be given to people that speak English. Also take off any clothing/jewellery that display any signs of wealth. And be mindful of the ‘occupation’ field you have to fill out (they ask you to fill out a form pre consultation), try to be generic and if you’re young enough just say student.

I spoke to two doctors for nose (Jeong Jin Wook) and eyes (Kim Jeong Min). Before I left for Seoul I wanted to speak to doctor Lee Dong Chan as he was pretty famous for dolly noses. I eventually heard he went to DA and the top doc from Hyundai dr Jeong Jin Wook came to replace him at View. After reviewing his b/a I decided I liked his style as well and discussed with him my wishes. He was a good listener and we agreed on the procedures of adding a silicone, rotating down my nose to elongate my short nose and project my tip. Interesting to note is that dr Lee Dong Chan always preferred goretex over silicone whereas dr Jeong Jin Wook prefers silicone over goretex. Then Dr Kim Jeong Min for my eyes did some tests to see if I had ptosis and then quickly mentioned parallel lids was not something he could create because of the short space between my eyes and brows. Instead he proposed to make the crease a bit higher. Since I wasn’t too unhappy with my current eyes, I did not consider paying a few K for only a minor change.

I spoke to both docs for like 10 mins as I already knew exactly what I wanted. So the only thing left was for them to confirm they could/should do it. If it wasn’t for dr Kim Jeong Min being too conservative (I really wanted both procedures to be done at the same hospital). I would’ve been confident in getting my surgery at View.

Nana:
The consultant Kylie spoke perfect english as she grew up in South Africa. Good thing to note is that when the consultant is not a native or went to an Eng speaking school, even if their english is fluent. They will have a hard time translating specific things. So if you can afford it I’d recommend to bring a translator to your last consult (the day you’re going into surgery) to really make sure everything is being translated correctly to the doc in those last moments. I wanted to speak to Dr Kim but found out his style was more ‘straight’ noses rather than doll like sloped noses. Dr Jang was recommended to me for those types of noses. Kylie did mention that the doctor will always listen to your wishes. But I feel like if that style is not his/her style, I’d rather not take the risk. I didn’t get to speak to both Drs in the end as they were both in surgery and I was also told it was quite hard to book a surgery date as Dr Kim was headed out for a convent and Dr Jiang had only 1 surgery slot left. I was able to come back the day after to meet both docs so I rebooked the consultation to the day after.

Topface:
I really wanted to speak with dr Shim for both my eyes and nose as I’ve seen beautiful results from him in a few kkt chats. But his surgery ran out and they asked me to come back end of day the next day. I rebooked the consultation but I was getting a bit worried about having the surgery on time as I was only in Kor for 10 days.

Uvom:
This was the smallest clinic (they only have 1 floor) and I was greeted by a lovely consultant Jasmine who spoke Eng fluently as she went to high school and college in the US. I spent most time here as it was my last consult of the day. We went over the procedures I wanted with another consultant (Eun Mi) and I got to see both Dr Lee for nose and Dr Kang for eyes. Dr Kang was able to recreate my desired eye shape with 2 toothpicks and recommended me to have a tiny epi. I mentioned I was afraid my eyes would look too close together as I already had ‘open’ eyes to begin with but he confirmed the change wouldn't be that drastic. I was happy he did not see any problems in creating the (parallel) lids I wanted since I heard he’s a pretty conservative (surgery style wise) guy. The infographic of eyes really helped a lot to communicate with the doc the specific things I want and did not want. Afterwards I saw dr Lee, he’s a very friendly doctor who has a preference for a specific style, most of the noses I’ve seen he's operated on are quite similar (in aesthetic sense). Sloped bridge, tip slightly upturned and natural looking with a dolly effect. We quickly agreed on what should happen to my nose, he asked me the top 3 things I wanted to change in order of priority, he noted it and then he left. I think I also spent like 10 min per doc here.

The decision:
The most important part is that you feel you agree with the doc's recommendations and that they also understand what you want. I eventually decided to have all my surgeries at Uvom as Rhinoplasty was my primary concern and I was most confident in Dr Lee's capabilities. Also, it helped that dr Kang confirmed parallel crease line would be possible (so I could have both surgeries the same date)

The consultant informed me that it was possible to have the surgery the next day but I’d had to decide the same day as they needed to take out filler from my nose prior to surgery. Removing fillers from the nose hurt like a btch and it continued to feel sensitive the next day.

To conclude, I’d say it’s hard to decide on a clinic if it’s your first time consulting. Some Dr recommendations contradict each other and you need to understand what procedures you exactly need and want as some consultants might also try to upsell additional surgeries to you. Ideally I’d say you travel to Korea twice, first time to have consults (and do holiday stuff), then go home do some more research and on the second time to have surgery and recover. After your first consults write down all the recommended procedures for your desired nose/eyes/whatever and then research those procedures and keep an eye out on the chats for real reviews, B/As to understand the styles from different docs. It takes a lot of time and research but it’s your face after all.

The surgery:
So on the day of surgery I wasn’t nervous at all, the consultant was continuously by my side and holding my hand when I had to do the many different injections. I first had my eye surgery under twilight sedation, that's when you’re sedated but still conscious. You can still think and hear but are kind of like, high on drugs? I was going through colorful tunnels and heard the doc talking to the nurse. At some point the doc asked me to open my eyes a few times and then after an hour or two he finished and informed me I’d be put into sleep sedation. I was pretty much KO immediately after and only remember being woken up about 9-10 hrs later. I was at the hospital until 10.30 pm, I felt super cold and my throat was drier than the sahara. They put me into another room with a warmed bed and there I also saw my poor s/o who waited for me all this time. After an hour or so I was less dizzy and ready to go back to my airbnb. (Living in an airbnb is better than in a hotel room as you’ll have a fridge, freezer, mini kitchen (and microwave), washing machine etc. so you can cave for a few days.)

Post surgery:

Day 0
I went to bed with my head elevated (on 3 pillows) to minimise swelling. My throat was hurting so much I did not feel any pain from the surgery. I wasn’t able to sleep much as my nose was packed and I had to breathe out of my painful dry throat.

Day 1
I was still super weak and felt super swollen, surgery is no joke and you really need time to recover. If possible bring someone along as that’ll make your life easier in terms of food, traveling, mental support and other help. I was asked to come back to the clinic for both drs to check up on me and also got rainbow therapy for deswelling and a vitamin drip. My throat still hurt and I was tired like hell due to lack of sleep.

Tip: don’t forget to ask for your Tax refund slip.
Interesting insight: at View they told me they couldn’t write down revisions (my eyes and they event counted me having had nose filler also as a nose revision) on their VAT slip. I have no idea why that is as Uvom didn’t mention anything about this and put down the full amount of my operations. So make sure to double check with your clinic to see what you can actually get back.

Day 2
Swelling was worst for me this day, I looked like a guinea pig that got his wisdom tooth removed. My eyes were like Frankenstein's and my head was rounder than a balloon. Luckily I mentally prepped myself with a lot of B/As prior to my surgery. Good to know; when you get fatgraft they take the fat from your (inner) thighs, so your thighs will also look like two purple eggplants.

Day 3
Swelling stayed the same but the bruising around my eyes was turning more purple/yellowish as if I got into a fight with Chris Brown the day before. I think the higher the crease the more swelling there will be. As for my nose it didn’t swell that much at all. I went back to the clinic again to get the cotton balls in my nose removed. The dr checked up on me again and looked satisfied. I felt completely normal again and wasn’t tired anymore. My throat was feeling better but instead I had a runny nose, developed 2 ulcers on my tongue and had to cough in the middle of the nights because of nose stuff dripping down and irritating my throat. Ironically, all of these hurt more than my actual surgery sites. So I did not feel any pain post surgery but was very uncomfortable from all the side effects.

Day 7
The days in between my swelling was getting much better and I got my stitches removed on day 7. I learned to take a painkiller before stitch removal so you'll feel less pain. It still hurt like a btch for me, nose stitches were bearable, eyes were horrible.

1 Month post-op
All in all, I was super happy with the post-op care and always stayed in good contact with the consultant regarding any questions or issues I was running against. I completely love my nose as it definitely is the nose I've wanted but also looks very natural on my face. My eyes have been healing very slowly both swelling wise as scar wise so I'm still waiting for it to settle. At this point I can't say I love my eyes as I feel the inner corners are starting a bit too high for my liking. Also, it didn't help that my skin formed hypertrophic scars on the inner part (where the crease starts) of my eye at around week 2. The hypertrophic scar is getting flatter and less red at week 5 and I feel like it will disappear over time but I do think it inhibited the formation of the crease in the inner eye area. The doctor advised to wait until the swelling is gone especially since I'm only a month post-op. Which makes sense.
I was also very worried about having too much fat in my face from fatgraft and looking 'plastic' but the fat definitely absorbed about 50% over time (also swelling subsides) and I'm happy it looks much more natural now.

Dr Lee added 3.5 mm to the bridge and 2 mm to my tip. Only septal cartilage was used for the tip and eptfe for my bridge.

I'm addressing the same issue: beginning signs of droopiness of upper eyelids. I've already determined I can't stand the issue enough to want to do something now rather than wait until my lids are like curtains over my eyes. But researching is tricky because I think there are a few possible ways to address the issue: upper blepharoplasty, DES, forehead lift or brow lift. It makes my head hurt.

What did you decide on? I think I’m starting to get these issues too and I think it’ll get worse as we age. Some say sub brow lift doesn’t make that much of a difference but I’m not sure what is what...

I think his Korean spelling name on the site is Dr. Jung but when they write his English name they write Dr. Chung... not sure why! Did you see a Dr Jung on their site? I can only vouch for Dr jung because he did my eyes and I’m extremely happy with them.

You’re 100% correct! Lol I should make a new Kakao username and ask them again in Korean to see what the price difference is lol. Another thread had them quote a user asking in english 3.9M krw during December 2018 so I’m not sure why mine was 5.4M?!! Seems ridiculous to have gone up in price after only one month.

Yes, you are right. They usually charge foreigners twice or thrice the price of what the locals paid.
However, because of the price that we paid as a foreigner, we will usually be able to get the surgery on the same day or the next day whereas the locals will have to wait for 1 week to 1 month before they can get the surgeries.
I am thinking that maybe the small scale plastic surgery clinic will be able to offer foreigners a similar price to what the locals paid and earlier surgery date as well.

I always thought Golden View was a small clinic and wouldn’t do this but maybe they’re bigger than I assumed. Definitely not happy about their over inflated price quote!

I just asked Golden view (GOLDENVIEW) how much hey would charge for a bullhorn (subnasal) lip lift and they quoted me 5,400,000 krw!!! Wtf!!! What a RIPOFF!! And they gave me that price quote without seeing any of my photos, so it’s a blatant scam for your money. This place is trying to take advantage of foreigners and rip you off your hard earned money!! Do not go there! Even a famous doctor (Dr Mascaro) in the USA that specializes in lip lifts costs less than half of that so Goldenview is trying to rip forgeiners off. I mean I knew they would mark up the price but I didn’t think they would DOUBLE IT to even more than what USA doctors charge?!! So ridiculous and for that reason alone I won’t even consult with them, and I will continue to tell people what a scam they are. You might have better luck asking them in Korean (because they clearly scam foreigners) but I would give a place that is so scammy a HUGE PASS.

I have finally booked to see Dr SONG at Golden View on the 12/01/2018 for top lip complete cut and re-shape + raising the lip/mouth height. This is how the Chinese Translator described the process after Dr. SONG viewed my expected results from the pictures i sent him.. I also want my front 2 teeth to be peeking out as an end result.... like a little pout. I have paid the KRW 1,000,000. 00 deposit. Looking forward to this.

I'm also considering possibly going for a consultation at Hyundai - if time permits after i land.

Do people still go to Item? After 5 years from my initial post on page 4 with a very good surgery by Dr Chung/Dr Jung, I’m now looking to get a second eyelid surgery because my eyelid skin is starting to droop a bit due to aging. I don’t know if I should wait another 5 years until the drooping gets worse (it’s minor now) or fix it now while I’m younger. Someone also said to use retin-A a bit on the lids as a temporary fix. Thoughts??

For medical reasons I think using real names is better but you can always use an alias and then when you decide to book at a specific clinic, tell them your real name? Haha or tell them the initial name was your "middle name" lol

Last year at the end of October I had made a trip to seoul and had multiple consultations to different clinics. I eventually, after meticulous comparison of proposed methodologies and seeking multiple opinions from respectable plastic surgeons I decided on Dr Park Yang Soo and Dr Kim Young Joon at Dream Medical Group for my procedures.

5 days ago i had undergone my 2nd revision rhinoplasty, forehead fat graft and acculift. Dr Kim performed my acculift while Dr Park did the fat graft and revision. And I have to say other than Bryan Mendelson, I have never had so much respect for the skill of a plastic surgeon as I have with Dr Park. This man fixed my botched nose through the use of closed rhino, a technique very few surgeons are capable of pulling off through the closed technique.

Day of Surgery:

The schedule was as follows: a) Final consultation with Dr Park and Dr Kim at 9.30am b)discuss final surgical price with the consultant and c)get prepped for surgery at 1pm

As far as surgical methodology goes, the main concern for me was my rhino revision. This was going to be my 2nd revision, 3rd rhinoplasty. My nose had been severely damaged by Charles Lee of Beverly Hills, who used a mix of diced ear cartilage and goretex for my nose. I had asymmetry, bumps, a hump nose and cartilage extrusion which caused visible thinning of the skin tissue. The method I agreed upon with Dr Park was using ultra soft silicone placed above the bone and under the periosteum to protect my weakened nose skin from extrusion and prevent and potential deviation. I had mentioned to Dr Park that after speaking to Dr Mendelson, 2008's president of the ISAPS, I was concerned that my periosteum might be too damaged to protect my nose from potential complications. So Dr Park's plan B was to use auto dermis should my periosteum be too damaged.

While Dr Park and Dr Kim are both fluent in English, not all of the other staff (nurses etc) were. Hence I had the in house translator Daphane, a lovely singaporean lady shadow me throughout my every move in the clinic. She really made the entire experience more comforting. I highly recommend anyone who is a native english speaker requesting daphane as your translator during your activities at the clinic. She is super helpful accommodating my every diva request. I even asked to borrow one of their humidifiers to bring back to my hotel and they let me lol

Last thing to do before surgery was discusss price with the consultant. Her name is Mi Yeong Lee and she gave me a nice discount. Initially she already gave me a discount but i felt that i could negotiate a better deal as I was able to recommend alot of people to her, thus increasing her commission in terms of quantity. Basically i told her (with Daphane as my translator) that being a surgical junkie, i know alot of other surgical junkies too lol. And under the caveat of having satisfactory post op results, i would not only recommend my friends to her i would also write a glowing review for the clinic should she agree to give me a better price. She also promised to give my friends a better price too when they come in for their surgery. So that was my bargaining strategy and I actually kept my end of the deal. I am happy with my results hence why im writing this review. Tho to be honest if i weren't happy i would still write a review...a flaming one that is lol

During Surgery:

So i decided to use Sedation + Local Anesthesia seeing as it is less stressful on your body. It was the best decision i ever made and ill explain why in a moment.

First up was the acculift performed by Dr Kim. A minute after he walked into the room the sedation was administered through my iv and i immediatedly felt like i was having the most amazing trip. It was as if i was on a fun relaxing amusement park ride. Then moments later my vision came back and i noticed Dr Kim doing the acculift. This took only 20 mins. Once i was done the nurses took me to the toilet for me to relief myself. I actually took an extra 5 mins updating my facebook about how my swelling made me look like id been face bashed lol....After that we went back to the OR where nurses laid me down while we waited for Dr Park to come in. Daphane had been watching by me this whole time while i got the acculift

Next procedure was the fat graft to the forehead. Now this one i really barely remembered much. I was reallly knocked out and when i regained consciousness again and by that time the procedure was done.

Final procedure was the revision rhino. This part was surreal. I was actually fully awake albeit a little sleepy. But i could see Dr Park performing the procedure on my nose. I could hear him removing the cartilage and the goretex. I was actually speaking to him the entire time. We were even cracking jokes at times. I was trying my best not to do the "are we done yet?" while he was concentrating. Anyway we actually encountered some difficulty during the rhinoplasty but Dr Park discussed it with me DURING THE OPERATION. The conversation went like this...

Dr Park: Your periosteum is damaged. Your skin is all too weak for the 4.5mm implant. I need to use the 3.5mm one.

Me: Should we try using our backup plan? The auto dermis?

Dr Park: I tried that, it doesn't fit your nose. Your scar tissue also had to be excised because it grew into the goretex so we cannot use that to protect the ultra soft silicone either. But don't worry I can use fascia to protect your skin.

Me: The fascia from my diced cartilage graft you just removed? Because I don't want you to harvest any from my scalp.

Dr Park: No the fascia from your diced cartilaged is damaged and cannot be used. Since you don't want to harvest fascia I will use donor fascia from Germany. Its really strong, also very expensive, do you want to pay for it? (jokes)

Me: No thanks, but put it in anyway lol (we both have a bit of a laugh)

Dr Park: So we cannot use the cartilage we removed from your previous surgery, I will use donor cartilage for the collumela and dermis graft to project and protect your tip.

Me: Am I bleeding alot? Because i was told by previous surgeons who did my nose that im a bleeder

Dr Park: No if surgeon is skilled you won't bleed much.

After he was done he handed me the mirror. I could already tell that it was really well done. Then he placed the cast on my nose with a light packing only for the incision in my nostril. So it was not the one that goes down your throat. I actually had a blocked nose so i ended up removing it myself 4 hours after the surgery.

That evening I opted to stay in the ward for an additional 150 000 won. I always believe the first night is the more crucial and the highest likelihood for something to go wrong. Also it really eases your mental state knowing u have professional care. Oh and i forgot to mention that i was actually sick with a sorethroat and cold during the surgery. For some odd reason when i ended up back at the ward all my symptoms had disappeared :S????

2 hours after lying in the ward I start to notice an odd sensation at the top part of my bridge. That is the part where i had extrusion from the cartilage. I've had 2 previous nose jobs and never felt this sensation before so I immediatedly started to panick as i thought the silicone is going to extrude. I contacted Daphane who arranged for Dr Park to come see me the moment his last surgery was done. 30 mins later Dr Park showed up, removed the cast to reveal a deep bruise in the damaged area on my nose. He explained that the reason for the odd sensations ive been feeling is due to how damaged the skin was by the previous surgeon. Then Dr Park examined the area and told me that there was good circulation going on so there's nothing to worry. But just to ease my worry he will check up on me in the morning once more before I leave the ward. To my surprise, the next morning the brusing had actually disappeared and there was just redness now.

Post op Day 1:

so swollen i look like id been bashed. But this time i noticed 2 slight dents in my forehead above the brow. So panick mode again, i contact Daphane and sent her pics. She showed them to Dr Park who said that ive been having too much muscle movement that is dispersing the fat cells. He told me to come back the next day to get some botox to solve the problem. No extra charge

Post op Day 3:
Swelling Peaked I looked like id been bashed over and over again

Post op Day 4:
Swelling finally started to go down. I bought a fashionable black surgical mask (ninja much? ) and walked around a little with it. The dent was also less visible

Post op Day 5:
Went back to Dream to get all but the stitch in the nose removed. Saw Dr Park for our final post op check up. They provide me with a complimentary Healing Lite II laser to speed up deswelling and to help ensure the fat cells are evenly distributed. I was also give my nose retainer (didn't know there was such a thing) to wear for 3 months while i sleep

Wow, sounds intense! I want to see photos of your beautiful new nose! I have never considered Dream clinic before but if I want to get my nose done i would definitely consider Dream after your review. Except I still want to see pics

It didn't allow me to post everything at once so this is the 2nd part of the post.

Day 2: I was complaining about my nose plugged so much that the nurse finally unplugged it for me. I could breathe better but I was supposed to have it plugged for two days or something. I couldnt help it. I now I would go crazy if it doesnt get remove. They removed it for me. I still feel horrible. It was time for us to leave the clinic. We were staying at Highland hotel when we first arrived and we booked the Xena Healing camp (www.xenachina.com) for 5 days after our surgery. I suggest to stay at this place after surgery even though the rooms are tiny but they provide pick up service and clinic visit transportation service while staying at the healing camp. They also provide hair wash service (once a day) and simple meals like congees. The people are super nice. They are very patient and caring. I am glad that we both went there for 6 days. We extended on day because we had our second surgery date so we figured its easier to stay there one more day to make sure we are ok.

Day 3-7: We met other girls who had their PS done at different clinics at Xena. Its really a PS healing camp. We were sharing our info and experience. Few girls went to ID and few went to Braun. You wont feel lonely for sure. Lol everyone there is trying to recover from PS. I was worried because I kept coughing blood so I text Yuki and she would ask the doctor for me right away. She is not an interpreter or a middle man. She is the marketing manager of White so she doesnt get bonus by taking care of us but she treats us like friends. I feel like everyone at White clinic is very sincere including the doctors that whats I like about White. They are not fake because some girls told me that they never get to see their doctors after surgery. They only get to see the nurse during check up. PSP and I are so fortunate because we get to see Dr Choi almost every time we go back for check up. We appreciate that a lot because he always try to speak some English to us. They dont find us annoying and they treat us the same even after surgery. Some girls were complaining that the staffs became so cold after they paid. They are not really to do more for them. They were so nice before the surgery. PSP and I are glad that we picked White over other clinics.

Day 8-11: We moved back to Highland because its more spacious and we need some quiet time. PSP couldnt sleep properly at Xena because their beds are too thin so we moved back to Highland as soon as we felt better. Highland is so nice. They kept our luggages until we are back with no extra charge. The service was incredible. They would order food for us and they would heat up things for us. They never say no to our request. I would recommend Highland if you are looking for a hotel that is near Sinsa station. They are affordable and they are located on the big road which is good. You feel safer that way even though we felt very safe in Korea.
Last day before leaving Korea: We went back to White clinic for our last check up. My eyes were still painful and swollen. Yuki called the pharmacy for me to have the eye drops and eye ointments medication ready for me for the next two months. We would still keep in touch to make sure we are healing well. I dont heal as fast as PSP. My body is weaker and I am easily bruised. It was hard to say good bye to the White clinic staff. We have to go home and we will be back for our 2nd fat graft in the next few months.

I wont be posting pictures as I am still look swollen and my eyes are still not good. My left eye didnt heal as well as my right eye so I am following up with Yuki. Shes been very helpful and supportive. I understand its part of the recovery. Everyone is different. My healing process is slower and hopefully my eyes will heal soon. Overall, I am very satisfied with my face contour surgery. I am waiting patiently for my eyes to heal and my nose to be normal. My nose tip is hard at the moment. I will keep posting any new updates whenever I have time to do so.

Wow! I just want you to know I read ALL of both your posts and I am really impressed you two went through so much! I had my eyes done recently but I'm thinking about lipo and fat grafting in the future. I am so glad to learn about the healing camp and about White clinic. I actually never heard about White clinic on these forums before but their price on lipo seems too good to be true! Do you know if the 480,000 krw included both arms or just one arm for lipo? Thanks as don't worry you'll heal fine, just make sure you sleep elevated, ice and take bromelain supplements!

They went up 60% from the price I had which was 1,320,000 krw for non-incisional. You should email them your pics and see what they recommend plus their price. Also look around if your budget is tight. Maybe they'll let you bargain if you're getting more than one procedure

Yes it is parallel as i wanted, its the ending of the crease that is weird. I only showed pictures but did not draw anything to show. I shall wait another month to see the results.

Definitely shop around! I didn't because I knew I wanted to see dr Chung but if you're not sure definitely go to consults because they're free and you can compare different recommendations

Thus, thinking would it be better and this miscom might not happened if he were to draw the dots in front of me before going in the sugery theatre.

I like the epi though, it done well. But i just couldnt understand why the crease is drawn downwards the ends of my eyelid making the crease to start at a higher height and descending. I will post my photos soon. Can i see a photo of your eyes if possible?

Did you tell the doctor or consultant you wanted a parallel crease? It sounds like you never told him and he never asked. I believe the consultant is supposed to ask you.. She asked me when I went and even drew it out to make sure we are on the same page, as I was very specific about what I wanted. For surgery it's better to be more specific.. Hopefully it turns out for the better for you

I prefer natural looking rather than big googly eyes. What I mean by natural is not a low crease. If you see my after pics, my crease is high but natural looking in that it doesn't look like I had surgery I wouldn't want to scream "my eyes had surgery" lol but they are much larger. Some people like the fake look, kind of like the "fake boobs" look vs fake boobs that look natural. It's just a preference but I think someone said cinderella does very dramatic results?

I am thinking where the miscommunication is now as the ends of the crease is going downwards. So the crease looks like it is going up at the arc and going down after that towards the ends of the eyes.. I am thinking that he might have not extracted enough skin as I did the incisional method.

Did you tell the doctor or consultant what type of crease you wanted? They asked me and the consultant drew it and also showed the doctor and I also showed the doctor photos of eyes I liked and made it clear what I wanted. I think it's really important for any type of surgery that the doctor knows exactly what you want because if you don't say anything they will do what they think is best which might not be what you want >.< From what I remember, the consultant told me that tapered creases and infolds are very popular in korea as it is the most natural so thats why I think showing pics is a must to be clear.

Yeah I knew dr Chung was clear on what I wanted as I saw the shape he made with my eyelids using a toothpick so I was confident about the results of my eyes but if you google Hui Rong's blog, she was sponsored by ITEM and they show the drawings on her eyelids and it's like..dashed and dots, not creases like you're thinking so I doubt you seeing the drawing on your lids would make a diff? I think what people should do is ask the doctor to show them the finished crease using a toothpick being more helpful

Maybe you should wait a bit to see how your eyes settle? Any pics? Maybe it's not as bad as you think

For me, he only draw after I was injected the anesthesia where he did not even show me what he drew and shortly I have blacked out.

I'm sorry to hear that! No I went and when he drew it I was already lying down but I showed him lots of photos and he showed me the crease height using a toothpick before I went into the operating room. What do your creases look like now?

Your hotel should have wifi. You should use google maps to look at the nearby area, that helped me lots as google maps shows icons of restaurants or hotels or subway stations. I didn't use a translator at all except google maps and google translate when I was in the hotel

Anyways at the end of the day getting a translator is a blatant waste of your money. Those potential issues which shinyglittery mentioned aside, the most important things to note are the following.

a) For navigation, its called google maps. When you arrive at the airport buy a prepaid simcard for ure duration of stay. That way you don't need to top it up, everything is unlimited besides international calls.

b) If you stay at a landmark hotel, preferably in gangnam near ure clinic then there are shuttle buses that take u to directly to and from the hotel and the airport. If you are not at a landmark hotel simply get the shuttle bus to the station and from there get a taxi.

c) When at the airport go to the help desk and have the staff write down the address of the hotel in korean just in case. When at the hotel get the staff to write down the address of the clinics you will be visiting in korean. Google maps, the address in korean will be your bread and butter when it comes to navigating around the place. Taxis are fairly well priced in Seoul so if on google maps it shows your next location is too far to walk then just hop into on. If you are too stingy to get a taxi then u shouldn't even be having surgery.

d) Use google translate for the little things such as buying certain products etc

e) Your surgeon, as most surgeons in Korea are proficient in English. Most clinics also have english translators on site to aide the clients. Consultants also speak english. Even more clinics have chinese speaking staff which i imagine would benefit alot of you on the forum.

f) if your surgeon is not proficient in english, move on. The last thing you want is someone to translate your needs to a surgeon who doesn't speak english. There is no way to know how objective and not subjective your translator is when interpreting your requirements to the surgeon. Why take that risk because you are too lazy to find another surgeon. There's thousands of them out there and lots of skilled ones who have a strong command of english

So basically, unless you are a moron and lacking any independance whatsoever do not waste your time getting a translator. Getting around Seoul is like common sense my dears u shouldn't be having surgery in a foreign country if u can't manage that yourself.

I 100% agree with everything in this post, especially with the fact that an English proficient surgeon is a must! And yes there are always in house English and mandarin speaking consultants that won't need to make a commission off you!
