Recovery
Recovery has been actually better then what I expected. The night before the surgery when I looked at my face I was already able to see that my doctor did such a good job. After Day 2 I was already deswelling!!! I was so happy, cus that means the doctor was so gentle on me! From my last experience at my last full face fat grafting at the other clinic I was full blown swollen up till day 6 and didnt start deswell until day 8. Anyways, back to my recovery process at the moment. My friends husband who grew up in Korea saw me on day 3 and said he can already see that it's gonna look so nice. And the doctor did a really good job. Daysi has been checking up on me through Kakao too!! And when I had some questions she answers me so kindly. I swear the hardest part of recovery is not being to fully wash my face. Haha. I feel like the hair on my face is moving cus my face is trying to breathe through the oil on my face haha. Tomorrow I will be removing my stitches. I'm so excited!! Can't wait to wash my face and see my results without the tapes on my face!! I forgot to mention about the site that had my fat taken from. My bruising is nothing compared to my last fat graft. It's so minimal bruising I keep thinking it might get worse but it only gets better each day.

 

Day after surgery
I got to the clinic on the 10th floor and Daysi and another girl greeted me so kindly again. My eyes were so closed I could wait for them to clean me up haha. Cus I was so scared to clean it myself. My doctor came in and greeted me with a warm smile and checked up on me. He told me everything looked good and the surgery was perfect. I felt so happy and excited. Hes so kind. They started with my deswelling treatment. It was some lights flashing on my face. Haha. After everything was cleaned and treated Daysi walked me to the train station and made sure to ask her anything through Kakao

 

Surgery day
Again I was greeted so kindly by every single one of the front desk and the consultant and translator were there with me again. We went into a consultation room to discuss everything we have discussed on my first consultation and after that we went through forms for approval and understandings of the surgery. Afterwards, a nurse brought me to wash my face and another brought me to take pictures. After the pictures, I was brought upstairs to have my last consultation with the doctor and he marked my face before the surgery. He again was so warm and kind that it reassured me that I made the right decision. After the consultation with the doctor I was brought to go use the washroom before the surgery. Then led to the surgery room with my translator. I was so nervous and excited at the same time haha. Daysi talked to me until I passed out. I don't even remember how or when I fell asleep. The only thing I remember was them trying to get me to the recovery room but i just remember the sound but don't remember me actually moving haha. I remember a voice coming in telling me that they already see a v line shape on my face and I was so happy and passed out again. I think after some time they kept coming in to check up on me to see how I was feeling. Daysi kept making sure I felt okay. Amazingly when I woke up consiously I didn't feel like I needed to puke. I remember last time at the other clinic that I had my fat graft two years ago I felt like I needed to puke. I only felt dizzy and Daysi told me it's okay I will feel better. She waited for me until I wasn't dizzy anymore. Later a nurse asked me if I was able to come in the next day for clean up and deswelling. Of course I had time hahaa. Afterwards, Daysi told me where we were gonna go to the pharmacy downstairs and told me I needed to eat something before I take the pills. I asked if chips was okay and she ran out of the room for some time, I could hear her going back and forth and she came back with a cup of microwavable congee . When I myself felt like I was ready to leave I realized that everyone at the hospital has already left and Daysi and a nurse stayed behind just for me. I felt so bad. Daysi held onto me the whole time making sure I'm okay and went downstairs with me to the pharmacy to get my prescription. She called a taxi for me ahead of time and the taxi was there for us when we finished with the pharmacy. Daysi called my hotel and asked someone to bring me to my room when the taxi dropped me off. She even called me to make sure I got to my room safe.

 

Because we were late for my first consultation, I was also late for my appointment for Ruby. My friend helped me call Ruby to see if we can change the time later in the day and they were so nice about it and gave us another time spot later in the afternoon. When we arrived, every single person behind the front desk person stood up and greeted us. We felt so bad that we had to change the time on them, but they were so kind to us. The consultant and the translator came out and greeted us in the lobby and gave me forms to fill out. They asked about our day and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We actually had a 9 month old baby with us throughout the day. So that was why it was extra hard for my friend who came all the way with me to my consultations. We were directed to the consultation room. The consultant and translator were so sweet and friendly not only to me but with my friend as well. We then talked about my concerns of what I would like to be done with my eyes. They did mention that I do have one side of my face that is lower then the other hence why I also have one big one small eyes. After my consultation with the consultant and the translator we waited for the doctor to come in. He asked what my concerns were. He said I wouldn't need incision for my eyes and that he would suggest doing natural adhesion for me. The doctor was so friendly and kind I felt like he really cared about my well being and my concerns. He actually stated everything i originally thought I would have needed for the results I was going for. I asked about a lower eye thing that I had under my eyes but they said I wouldn't need to do now. Everything I asked about, I didn't feel like I had to do it with them. Not once did I feel pushed to do any surgery during the consultation. They only suggested and listened to me. The doctor was so patient with me with my questions I had and I never felt like he was in a rush to go anywhere. He made sure I had no more questions and we were all happy before leaving the room to continue with the consultation with the consultant and the translator. I asked about the prices of the procedures and their prices was within my budget. I asked when they're next opening spot were and they tried to find one for me. I like how they gave me and my friend room to talk and not once did they ask if I would like to go with them. The feeling that I got from Ruby was so warm and friendly. The doctor made me so comfortable and that I can trust him with my face.

I decided to go with Ruby in the end. I was so happy finding a place that I felt so comfortable with. My friend was so happy for me too and happy that I went with them as well.

 

I had my consultation last week with GNG hospital and Ruby Plastic Surgery last week. My main concerns were my eyes and full face fat grafting. My local friend helped me book my consultation times for both places and came with me for both of my consultations. It takes around a 15 mins uphill walk to the hospital from the train station and we arrived at GNG late and was welcomed by the staff at the front desk. The front desk were annoyed that my friend who spoke Korean fluently came to translate for me. Apparently they weren't going to do a consultation with me because of that but the consultant came in and told them they'll do it for us this one time. I was told to go upstairs to take pictures and come back downstairs to see her for the consultation. When I finished with the photos I went in first to see I believe Dr. Kim who was the one that focuses on fat grafting for me. She was very nice and sweet and asked me what places I think I would like work on. I told her where I was concerned about and she agreed with me. She spoke really good English and was super sweet. When we finished with the discussion with Dr. Kim I was led to the consultants room. We talked about my eyes and what I wanted to be done with them. I have one small and one big eye. And I wanted to fix my smaller eye to be the same as the other eye. So we felt that we can just do eyelid surgery on one eye. When the eye doctor came in, he said that I use more expression on one side of my face so that's why I have one big and one small eye. So he suggested a forhead lift to even out my eyes. He spoke English as well. When the doctor left, the consultant talked about prices and when they have an opening for surgery. I wanted some time to think about it because forhead lift was such a big surgery to me and I also had another consultation booked on the same day with Ruby and wanted to see how they were as and what they would suggest for me. The consultant was sooooo persistant for me to book a surgery date with them, we felt like we couldn't leave. I asked my friend to ask if we can pay for a deposit for a spot for the surgery and if we decide to not do the surgery in the end can we get our deposit back and she said no. In the end, I had to tell her I will let her know by the afternoon very firmly about my decision. From her facial reaction I think she understands English but doesn't speak it. I felt really uncomfortable seeing my very good friend trying to tell the consultant we would like some time to think about it and we will get back to them. But the consultant was very pushy... I didn't like that at all. It made me very uncomfortable and I felt so bad for my friend.

I'm planning on consulting with GNG and Ruby for eyes and fat grafting =)

 

I had full face fat grafting done with them two years ago. The staff and everyone were very nice. And even contacted me after I returned back to my home ckubgry. The doctor listened to all my questions and responded well. Because I didn't secure my appointment with the doctor I wanted at the consultation, they recommended me another doctor. I was fine with it. Surgery outcome even till now, I am still very happy that I got a full face fat grafting from them. But the only thing that kinda made me a little upset back then was that I only had one week to recover in Seoul. I know I will be swollen and I still needed time to deswell. They gave me one laser treatment for aftercare that was included. I went back asking if I can get a deswelling shot to help my deswelling, they wouldn't give it to me. I told them I wouldn't mind paying for it if it wasn't included in the price I paid for the procedure. They still wouldn't give it to me either. I love my results and have not regretted getting it from them. Just the after care wasn't that great for me.

 

Is it okay if I add you as well on Kakao?

 

How are you feeling so far? Are you liking your results? Oh my! I thought i was the only one that felt that my eyes got smaller too. I'm thinking of getting ptosis next year in hopes to regain my old eyes. Or I'm just getting old hahhahahaa

 

Are you sleeping upright? Or with a travel pillow? I took some vitamin c drink when I was in Seoul that a pharmacy recommended me. And when I went back to Canada, since we don't have pumpkin juice here. A friend recommended me to drink pineapple juice and eat pineapples. I found that that actually worked for myself =]

 

That's awesome!! So happy for you!! How are you healing so far? I'm not sure when your leaving Seoul. But when I went on the plane to go back home I got more swollen. Maybe due to the high pressure? Just wanted to give you a little heads up so don't get too nervous about it!!

I have been trying to get in touch with Brian through Kakao and it seems like he must be very busy. He initially replied very quick, but once I asked to book an appointment for a consultation next year he hasn't replied back. Is that what you experienced too?
