Hi popcorn yes its still asymmetrical. mine is pretty obvious that one side still has the mongolian fold. I have plans for korea in autumn, but i have not decided if I wan to risk a revision. there has been too many stories about asymmetry if u revise only one eye.
I had a friend who did her DES with JK, the doc didnt suggested epi for her. Price wise, I think similar with Teuim. I didnt really like how her lids turn out, it still looks puffy after 6 months and the arch is a little ... i duno how to put it.. not smooth? too rigid? I cant really pinpoint but it just didnt look good.
And the thing is, my friend thinks that her puffy lids is her problem, not because JK did not do a good job -.-" Duno how they brainwashed her.
She did incision by the way, they could her taken out her extra fats..
Hi zwc, my epi was not done well for one eye, resulting in one tapered one parallel, but its just a small difference, like maybe if kwon cut just 1-2mm more , both would have evened out. There is a little scarring at epi ( the side that was not done well) but not noticeable. Similarly, nobody would have notice it was parallel/tapered if I did not point it out to them. Overall, I have received nothing but compliments for my new eyes. I did not do any other surgery other than the eyes, and everyone compliments on how much more prettier I am, as in overall.
So I am pretty much happy with Teuim.
Kwon did say I can go back for revision if I like. For free. But as with all surgeries, revisions are difficult and best avoided. Hence I am contemplating if the minor difference is worth another surgery anot.
Dun worry dear! Ur swelling will go down definitely. My sausge stayed with me for almost 3 months. It went rapidly down 4mths onwards. Im nearing my 5th nth, still feels a lil tight when I look upwards. As teuim advise. It will take 3mths to look natural n 6mths to feel natural. I did incision ptosis correction n magic epi
Hi rinda. My eyes are after surgery already! it was horrendous before.
Hey jilly, I think sharp corners are the norm haha. I personally felt round corners makes me look more kiddish. Look up fan Bing Bing. I love her eyes. Very sharp inner corner. Before my surgery I even had to use eyeliners to draw the sharp corners. It makes me look more awake.
Hey susaki. How are you? I read on ur thread abt the skin. Has it been better already?
it must be the rear n front camera haha. Yes! its rounded. and it was rounder before surgery. I look like a cartoon! I would have liked it a lil sharper thou
hv u decided on which clinic?
just a note, my lids collapsed by at least half since surgery. so do request higher lids if u would like the height, as I heard at least 70% of my frens who did it, wished they had more height like mine.
i agree! the folds are actually at a nice height now. ah, two mths is still not at its final stage. Infact, kwon asked me to wait till 6 mth mark before any revision. jilly, he suggested revision but must wait till the 6th mark.
popcorn: during consultation, when he use the metal stick to push my lids up, he actually created a very thin lid, natural if I must say, however I told him I would like my double eyelid to be more defined, i guess that why my lid is higher than most of kwon's patients? I guess thin lids = more natural? well, my fren who did at JK, says her sausage lids stay with her for 3 mths, it was only at the 4th mth mark that it started to thin out... (btw, JK didnt do a very nice job -.-" her lids are like /````\, it looks like a half hexagon. and her lids are still puffy although they already extracted the fats)
Tyler: Yea, kwon's method of "tapered" is parallel, followed by epi, to pull the inner corners inwards to create the tapered effect. According to him, that is the most natural you can get. Yeah I nearing the 4th month mark. there is still retention on the "tapered side"
I will show u guys my eyes today. dun mind the smeared mascara. haha. Btw i put much less eye makeup than before but still look better. So I would say, I did not regret the surgery
ya.. that was a recent pict. I sent kwon this pict and he advised revision to be at least 6 mths. I think the remaining fold was not done on purpose but rather the excision was not exactly the same on both side. As I explained, if i pulled the tapered side slightly inwards towards my nose, my eyes would have balanced out completely. I was thinking maybe it the "left handed right handed" thingy. But I cant be sure. Also the parallel side tearduct is showing a lil more than the tapered side. I asked him why the discrepancy, he has yet to reply me.
I am not keen in revision, as revision is usually difficult and more complication. My frens has advise a lil asymmetry is natural, instead of perfect symmetrical eyes. I do agree if the asymmetry was one side slightly bigger/smaller or one side epi was rounder than the other... but one side tapered one side parallel?? I am not quite happy with it thou..
Yeah I will wait till 6 mth mark and see if the swelling goes down further, if the difference is minimal I would rather not revise.
I rem u had quite bad symmetry, how long did it take for your eyes to balance out?
I am approaching the 4mth mark soon..
Abt the fold.. TBH, I didnt really ask as I didnt understood much about epi at that time. I just told kwon I didnt like my rounded corners and I would like it to be sharp. well.. it is almond shape now.. but not exactly sharp..
Hi Jilly. I asked for tapered. Thou kwon suggested parallel will look nicer on me. Which unfortunately for now, I have to agree with him Haha. I wonder if he can make my tapered side to be parallel for the revision. I also thought that epi would make my corners very sharp, But it didn't. I think the side that is tapered now is not done Well for the epi. Because I still have a scar, And there's still a bit mongolian fold. Because if I pulled my corner inwards a little, my eyes would have balanced out. Here's my pic, pardon me I have zero makeup on.
Hey I'm at my 3 mth mark. Regretably, I have one side tapered n one side parallel. From far It's not noticable, But it actually bothers me: ( although I have to add, everyone thinks my new eyes are pretty. Even strangers say my eyes are so pretty. I Hv asked kwon (teuim) he advised to wait til the 6mth mark before any revision.
Juscurious, select at least 5clinics after all the reading. Send them a email ask for price, then go down to Korea n see face to face.
Dun ask anyone Which doctor creates natural looking, as natural looking to A might not seems the case to B. Looking at the BnA or looking thru the photos in TPF is the best way to guage If u like that style.
A word of advice, price is not the main deciding factor. The asthetic style is . The last thing u want is a revision.
I understand Where koreasaurus is coming from. Spoonfeeding. Juscurious, Wat u really need to do is first decide Which surgery u want to do. Then READ. I personally read thru all 600+ pages on soompi relating to eyelid surgery n ALL the threads related to eyes on TPF. i even read all the local blogs. There are tons of info out there n you are expected to sieve thru them urself. Fyi, 9mths is normal, I have read people who read for years before deciding. Afterall, you only have one face, n It's Ur face. So u decide Wat to do with it, based on Ur own research and decision. AND NOT BY RECOMMENDATION.
Koreasaurus, I feel you. My colleagues keep commenting they wan to go to my clinic because my eyes looks So nice. When I told them, what looks nice on me might not look nice on them, they Dun listen n can't be bothered to do any research. it pisses me off too. Not that I'm selfish to share my clinic, It's just tt I dun wan to get the blame If they get a botched job eventually. But what can I Say to lazy people like them?sorry but You deserved it..
Hi popcorn I did my surgery with Kwon on the 21st Aug. I have the same issue. Sad to Say, it is still the same now. I choose tapered, one side is tapered nicely But the other side, the fold n the inner corners are not joined. Hence its a little parallel. I emailed Kwon he says I'm still swollen n Pls be patient. I shall wait till the 3mth mark n see How by then.
i did magic epi. ptosis and DES with Teuim. About 1 mth post op now. Epi made a very big difference for me, alot of ppl ask me if i did my nose bridge (i did not) and commented my new eyes are very pretty, the gaze is very intense and i look thai now (i am singaporean) It was a dramatic change for me rather than a subtle enhancement.
I have got a friend who did only DES and ptosis. She looked like a enahanced version of herself rather than totally different from before.
I guess it really depends on your old eyes, my inner corner was quite round, couldnt see any tearduct at all before. So I guess that's why mine was such a dramatic change.
Hi Jilly, dun worry too much about the symmetry. It is only natural that one's eye are not identical. Even before Ur surgery, your eyes ain't exactly same too. For now. I think Ur new eyes looks great, much better than before and That's great! You really have beautiful eyes now: )
Thank you all! My crease is still pretty high, I hope it goes down soon. Now the right eye epi scar is showing up, weird that it is getting more obvious as the days goes by, I tot it should be fading?
on a side note, the incision is getting very itchy now. Is that infection or normal? And is there anythin i can do to deswell faster? it does not seem to improve since day 8
i tot mine looks more swollen at the lids. but omg the bloodshot, it looks painful :/ and the asymmetry
So glad you are looking so good now.
But its weird that you do not have this epi scar during removal, when did it start to turn so red? Try contractubex, the chinese nurse recommended me. And another fren say the cream helped with her burnt scar. so i am assuming it is good.
This is my eyes after stitch removal today. Still swollen right. My lids are not going to stay This thick forever right T.T it actually kind of freaks me out now.
