  1. I think it really depends on how the surgeon evaluates the healing process of the double eyelid when the surgeon does the check up. For me, the surgeon had my sutures taken out on day 5 even though he said I could've taken it out earlier. Also, it depends on your crease height. Since my eyes healed relatively well in terms of where the sutures were placed (and possibly the extra days), I didn't feel anything when the nurse took them out and it took her only a few seconds on each eye, which may be a good reason to keep the sutures there longer as I've heard of people who said that it was really painful for them when removing sutures.

  2. Thanks for your review, as I'm thinking of getting eye revision at Teuim. I can say from personal experience that the "eye twitch" muscle spasms that you're feeling is normal because I also felt the same thing about one month post-op even though I only did non-incision. Give it another month or more and the tightness will subside along with the uncomfortable feeling.

  3. I completely agree with K Couture and Blasian, if they're judging you or criticizing you for your life choices, then you should really re evaluate whether you want to be with that person. I had a friend who didn't see plastic surgery in a good light (lets say she's out of my life now) but I found it so ironic because she's the type of girl that can't leave the house without a pound of makeup on her face, goes to regular facials, and dyes her hair regularly. She always said that people who get plastic surgery are changing themselves and really vain (but ironically she's doing the same thing by masking herself in makeup and editing her photos). I'm not saying surgery is comparable to makeup, but in the end plastic surgery is just another procedure to improve our appearance, simple as that.

We are still the same person as before, so don't let anyone give you a hard time for your choice to get plastic surgery. Its normal for people to have different opinions on plastic surgery and its okay if they don't agree with your decisions if its what makes you happy. But its not okay for them to impose their views on you or criticize you openly. When you meet the right boyfriend in the future, he'll like you for who you are as a person, not what your face looks like, with plastic surgery or none at all.

  4. Interesting blog post, never heard of that clinic before, wonder if there's other reviews.. but I think she looked extremely pretty already before (really nice side profile) so the results aren't dramatic or obvious. I actually feel her eyes looked better before cause they were already really big and she didn't need much makeup to enhance her eyes. But seems after surgery she uses a lot of eyeliner to cover her crease a lot of times, even in recent posts. I think her eyes are still pretty after surgery though.

  5. Your eyes are looking great! I remember first seeing your post a couple months ago and they've improved a lot. Makes me hopeful for my eyes too

  6. That is considered high but my surgeon told me a lot of people go in to ask for high creases anyways cause they want the large eye effect. Mine is close to yours, 7mm so maybe that's why we're experiencing the same issue where the swelling looks more emphasized

  7. I believe that ptosis correction could be undone by the same procedure that you got it, non incision, so you don't need to do full incision but I would consult with your previous surgeon as he knows your surgery procedures best. What is it that you don't like about the ptosis, did it make your eyes too wide?

  8. Hey, I've been told by others who did both non-incision and incision that it takes several months before your eye is considered fully healed, plus depends on your crease size also it will expose more skin resulting in a more "swollen" appearance (similar to me). How many mm is your crease height? since you mentioned your crease is kind of high. I believe it'll take at least 3 months for non incision to look completely natural in the mornings. My previous roommate got incision method and it took her close to 9 months before she completely lost her "sausage eye" effect in the mornings.

  9. Haha totally agree about the no makeup makeup  And yes i'd like to exchange photos too, I pm'd you my kakao id

  10. I'm happy with my eyes at night when the swellings down with some makeup, I guess I want ptosis because my eyes still look slightly droopy and I don't have the wide alert look like you, which I wanted originally haha. But yes you're right, its too early to think about revision. I also changed my eye makeup routine too, but still not used to the eye shape so my makeup looks like a beginner lol

  11. We seem to have similar issues before surgery. I had non-incision in January. Pre-surgery my left eye was bigger than right eye and the surgeon also made my right crease slightly higher to balance the eyes, sadly this makes the swelling also more noticeable, especially in the mornings.

I think the only way the surgeon may balance your eye by lateral is to make the cut on your left eye bigger than the right. I remember somewhere that some surgeons don't operate on one eye due to asymmetry and swelling while operating. But I'm sure there are many surgeons that can still do single eye if you really want. I know how you feel cause I also want a revision too knowing that its higher risk + more expensive (ptosis for me) but I think should still give it another month or two for any remaining swelling to disappear before giving your eyes a final judgement.

  12. That seems relatively high for revision... but I think banobagi tends to give high price quotes, so you may have to bargain in person during your consultation. Do you mind me asking where you had your first surgery?

  13. Cause as foreigners its hard for us to really know how much they charge local koreans so many clinics take advantage of that to increase the prices hence lot a lot of forumers ask for prices to compare with each other. Another reason for overcharge is because clinics charge extra for having english consultants and services catered to foreigners. It's not fair but it happens all the time anyways.

  14. My eyes were slightly assymetrical, but evened out with just non-incision surgery. I don't think it matters whether you undergo incision or non- incision, the doctor will just make the crease line differently to balance the unevenness as in my case. If eyes have extra thickness/fats or unevenness is severe, the doctor may recommend removing excess skin/fats (usually incisional method). If you have ptosis, which sometimes contributes to assymetry, the surgeon may recommend ptosis correction to "lift" the eye muscle.

  15. Hi, can I ask where you get your hyaluronic acid pills from? The dermatologist in korea put me on antibacterial pills for 2 weeks too and my skin cleared up! but now that I've stopped taking it my skins slowly going back, though definitely still better than before

  16. I'm not sure about incisional, but for non-incision my eye crease is defined but still very natural so if you're worry about not getting the final result you desire, as long as your surgeon is skilled it shouldn't be a problem. At the same time I know people who said their "stitches loosen" over time even though all the surgeons told me chances are really low. It may be natural due to aging or self caused such as if you use contact lens often, it does to some degree increase the chance of your eyes loosening.

My consultation was with Dr Woon, doesn't mean he's a bad surgeon as I can't attest to his skill but if you consult while its not holiday season it may be a lot better. Originally I wanted to see Dr Chan because I remembered good review for eyes from him.

  17. Yes totally agree, I exchanged my money at KEB Bank mostly since it was near where I stayed, but you'll find banks everywhere so it won't be a problem. I find the banks have better rates than the exchange booths at Myeongdong but its not much of a difference to be honest.

  18. I suggest exchange Korean won in Korea rather than Singapore as the rate in Seoul is better compared to when exchanged in other countries. You probably want to exchange only a bit in Singapore just enough for after you leave the airport and before you can get to a bank/currency exchange.

  19. Hi guys, reading others reviews really helped me in preparing for the surgery so I wanted to give back and hopefully my experience can help someone else too. I did non-incisional double eyelids (no epi or ptosis) at Wannabe PS. Its been about a month post op so I can say majority of the swellings gone and it fixed my biggest problem before surgery which was assymetry. I'm satisfied with how my eyes turned out based on the surgeon's skill and what he promised BUT I wished that he let me do ptosis and am now considering a revision with another clinic after my eyes settle in a few months. Its probably too soon to do it now?

I felt I had ptosis but the doctor kept reassuring me that I didn't have ptosis and that non-incision alone was enough to give me that bright eye effect. I chose this clinic cause I felt most comfortable with the surgeon that I consulted with after all my consultations with other clinics and Wannabe was surprising a lot bigger and a lot busier than I expected as not much people have reviewed them on PF. I know there's still residual swelling but I've done enough research myself to know that even with any swelling I still have ptosis since my eye is really sleepy looking and like pre-op, I still "force open" my eyes. The good thing is that the crease style/size that the surgeon promised me has held up and my recovery was really quick, surgery was only 20 mins.

    Other clinics I visited:
Dream: The busiest clinic of all that I visited, and I had to wait a long time, but then I went during holiday season so I expected it. After all the waiting I was only able to see another consultant who negotiated the pricing with me. The English consultant was really nice, she kept apologizing even though it wasn't her fault and checking up on us but in the end I couldn't see Dr Park as he was rushing to a surgery. She offered to re-schedule me another time but I decided not to even though I really wanted to see Dr Park.

Item: I had my consultation with Dr Chung. He was really nice and spoke perfect English, a lot better than the English consultation. He even drew a diagram explaining the different procedures and was very clear. However all the consultants were too "dolly" looking (not in a good way in my opinion). My consultant diagnosed me incorrectly before seeing the surgeon and she seemed to be really annoyed at us about it and it showed clearly, my friend who was with me felt it also. But anyways, I just didn't feel really comfortable in this clinic, not to say that there is any problem with the doctor/clinic, just intuitively.

View: For some reason I remember this clinic being the longest of my consultations, the consultants were really nice and professional. However, the surgeon I wanted for my surgery was fully booked and the other doctor who saw me literally spent less than 3 mins to look and poke at my eyes and I was off to the consultant again. I probably spent about an hour in total with the consultants. I decided not to go with this clinic as I felt that surgeon wasn't really sincere even though I do understand it was a really busy time for clinics plus I didn't get to see the surgeon I intended to in the first place.

Teuim: Before my consultations I felt 90% sure I was going to choose Teuim as Dr Kwon is so famous on PF for eyes. But the main reason I didn't choose him was because he was the only surgeon that said I needed partial incision while the other 5 clinics reassured me that non-incision was sufficient for my eyes. I still believe he is very skilled from talking to other people on PF and he did say I did have a little bit of droopiness that ptosis correction would've corrected. I still want to go to Teuim for revision/ptosis correction but I'll have to probably wait...

Girin: Really busy clinic even though they're super small with only 2 surgeons. The eye surgeon recommended me non-incisional+epi+ptosis+lateral, which was the first clinic to recommend everything to me. He said of course I didn't have to do all, but I just felt overwhelmed that he recommended me everything lol. In the end they were fully booked for the week so I wouldn't have been able to do the surgery there anyways.

The strange thing is that before flying over to Korea, all the consultants recommended me incision+epi+ptosis via email, but after seeing the clinics in person (other than Teuim) they said non-incision was enough, so its so important to be informed and research every procedure related to what you're doing as the people that reply emails may not be as informed as you might think, plus seeing photos and seeing the surgeons in person could result in completely different diagnosis. I don't regret my decision with Wannabe as I've heard quite a few people end up with different crease style/size post op from other clinics and some of my close friends that know I had surgery have no idea what I'm talking about when I say ptosis/droopiness so it could just be me being picky or paranoid about the ptosis but I am still already researching for revision even though its still too soon to do anything.

  20. About the specialists, there is a thread that teaches you how to distinguish between specialized plasic surgeons: #

  21. Wow thanks for sharing, those photos are really disturbing! Super unprofessional, they're literally dealing with people's lives on the line... hope everyone getting surgery stays safe!

  22. Thanks Lanvinfiend, this was really helpful! I think I'll still go ahead with bromelain/arnica but probably take those after the surgery.
