  1. Thanks for the info Sillyslux, very helpful. I have contacted TFD and Dr lee is really quick at responding. I have my face to face consultation booked for 6th of April

Thank you Mazikeen, I will be looking into a thread-lift - Ideally with a clinic that just focuses on skin... However, I have contacted the clinics mentioned and now waiting for a response. Not sure how long they typically take to reply. I appreciate the recommendation, as for E-residence, I have no complaints about the place, only i was there for a month last time and going back to that room gives me nightmares ;) Mrs Kim was lovely, she helped me with so much and I will always be grateful for her help. However, she attended every clinic I visited and even come in the consultancy room, which made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't want to offend her by asking her not to come. So if i do go back to the same hotel, I wont mention anything about Surgery

  2. Anyone?

Clinics ive messaged so far are Everm, Face Dental and EU. Because I also want skin tightening under my chin (ideally in one operation), also considering Banobagi and View...

To add, I also had dark circle treatment at DA clinic and they runied under my eye. I had a big lump and redness and despite numours emails, I was told the filler would disolve in a couple of year. 3 years later, I had to seek the experience of a leading bleph speciailist in the UK. After surgery, I was tod the filler they injected, was not a filler and it would NEVER have disolved, so be careful.

  3. Hi all,

It was 2015 when I last posted on this forum and at the time, I was recovering from double jaw surgery, which I had done at the DA clinic.

Now I am facing a new problem, which I would like to fix. Since the surgery (and ageing) I have loose skin under my chin, which I want removing / tightening (see picture). I also want the vertical height of my chin reducing slightly. Please see pictures – left hand side is how i look now, and the right-hand side it what I’m hoping to achieve.

    The wish list:
    • A specialised clinic that can fix both issues at the same time, i.e. one surgery.
    • English speaking surgeon
    • Surgeon who understands the western 'look'
So, that being said, can anyone please help with the following:
    • Can anyone recommend a trusted clinic that can reduce the chin height and perform a neck lift?
    • Can anyone recommend a place to say? – Last time I stayed at Ephphath Residence and had no issues.
    • Can anyone give an indication of cost for both surgeries?
I am planning on having this surgery early April.

Thanks in advance - PS try not to laugh at my terrible photo editing

  4. Hi Cuma,

I am currently in Korea and 5 days post opp. Once I feel a little more human, I will be putting up a detailed review of my experience. In the meantime, should you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I wil do my best to respond.

Apart from the surgery, a couple of things I am finding difficult is the boredom and finding western type food, like porridge and chicken or vegi stock to make soups etc.... (things i can eat while on a liquid diet).

  5. Thanks for the link Krisvonoz, I will have a look into that. Currently, my teeth align perfect in many ways, so moving my jaw will have a negative effect on my teeth, which will mean braces post op. I have already had lower jaw surgery here in the UK, when I was a teenager, they should have moved the upper jaw forward and the bottom back, but they only moved the lower jaw. My front profile looks ok, but its my side profile that bothers me most, my upper jaw needs to be moved forward around 5mm.

I have consulted with 3 maxillo surgeons in the UK, one said both jaws need doing (upper forward, bottom back), another said only the top needs moving forward and the third said I was told old... (I was 29 at the time)

Because my upper jaw is too far back, it makes my lower jaw look longer, if that makes sense, the upper part of my face is flat, no check bones, no definition... the surgery is purely cosmetic.

  6. Thanks for the tip Krisvonoz, boredom is one of my concerns, being on my own for a month with nothing to do... eek..

Being from the UK, it has been a struggle with orthodontists and surgeons. Its not a problem if you want to go private, but the cost would be around 20k (gbp) plus they dont perform surgery first. My teeth align at the sides, but i have an edge to edge bite at the front, which could be fixed with braces, but my upper face would still appear flat, which is something i really want to fix.

Don't get me wrong, I am really scared about the procedure, compounded by the fact i will be in a foreign country, but I would prefer to have the surgery first and then fix me teeth. If i could do it that way round my country, then I would, but like i said, the standard is orthodontist first - about a year to 18 months of braces, then surgery followed by post braces....

  8. Hi Sarah, I will happily report back on the clinic...

Hi Odnok, do you mind sharing why you are not going to Everm now?

Does anyone know if i can pick up a NANO sim card from South Korea Airport?

  9. Hi Rinda10, thanks for sharing your experience. Did the clinic provide the translator or did you need to bring your own?

Hi Nero, I mainly want to treat my dark circles, so it may involve a lower bleph and/or a fat graft. I am also considering a very fine love band...

Hi Sevenseas, thanks for the info. Yeah I have read the same, I think I will be just hitting a number of the most recommend clinics and seeing which DR I feel most comfortable and who understands what I need - less is more type of thing.

Yes that is me in my pic, although a little dirty, I had just done an assault course

The only advise I can give you regarding the cost, is to find out how much people have paid for similar treatment and negotiate from there. From what I have been reading from this forum, having a translator will certainly bump the price up, so avoid where possible. Some clinics don't move greatly on price (again from what i have read) but if you have an idea of what other people have paid you have an idea if the price you have been quoted is inflated or not. I hope to be aiming for around 20/30% off any price quoted over the internet.

    I hope this helps.

  10. Hi heylo,
I am currently consulting with a number of orthodontists (Manchester and Leeds) but I have not settled on either at this moment. The surgery first approach is the main reason why I am heading out to Korea, you still require braces after the surgery, it is supposed to shorten the overall treatment time by around 6-12 months.

I have seen three maxillofacial surgeons here in the UK and they agreed to do the treatment here privately, but I don’t want to go through years of braces first then have surgery, followed by post braces.

I had lower jaw surgery here in the UK when I was a teenager and they were supposed to do both upper and lower jaws, but at the last minute changed the procedure to just my lower jaw (moving it back) and it never gave me the result I was hoping for.

Are you planning to go to Korea or you still looking into it all?

let me out - Really interesting in hearing about your experience, I will PM you.

One question though, I will be taking cash in pounds GBP, will I have any problems exchanging in Korea?

  11. Hello everyone

I am travelling to Korea at the end of February from the UK, and although there seems to be mainly women on here, (I am male) I have found this site very informative … I am getting really nervous now, I will be travelling alone (this will be really difficult, having no one to talk to) and plan to stay in Korea for around 4/5 weeks. What makes it worse, is I am terrified of flying.

In priority order, I hope to have upper jaw surgery (moved forward around 3-4 mm) and eye surgery for dark circles (lower bleph and fat graft).

My main focus for the jaw surgery is to only have a DR who is a maxillofacial specialist and not just a plastic surgeon. The clinics I will be consulting with for my jaw surgery, in preference order are:

    • Everm
    • Bangobagi
    • Darps

My teeth a perfectly aligned at the moment but after surgery they will be out of alignment so I will be seeing an orthodontist back in the UK.

The clinics I will be consulting with for my eye surgery, in preference order are:

    1. Teuim
    2. View
    3. Girin
    4. Dream

:help: This is where I could do with your help. How does the list look? Have I missed any clinics that are not only good, but specialise in jaw and eye, particularly DR recommendation?

If anyone has had similar surgery and has the best contact details for the above clinics I would love to hear from you. Would also be useful if I could find out what you paid….;)

To pay for the surgery I will be taking cash and card which If I need to can use the cash as an extra negotiation tactic.

I am still in the process of getting some quotes back and need to start putting together a list of post-surgery items… Oh and I will not be hiring a translator.

Feel free to PM or Kakao – onlyleigh

  12. Hello

I would first check they are registered. Here in the uk the details are available on baaps. My next step would be to see how long they have been practicing and most importantly how many operations they perform a year on the area of the face you are interested in.

For example you may have a rhino surgeon, who performs thousands a year and has a handful of bad reviews, percentage wise, they would have a good success rate.

    Hope this helps
