Was that a typo? When I went to JW for a consultation they quoted me $2500...before a discount. Did she have another procedure included with the lower blepharoplasty?
So, I had my lower blepharoplasty done in Korea (among a few other things). Sadly, the results were great the first week (sans bandages on my cheeks). But, now the results have reverted back to what I looked like before the procedure. The fats the doctor repositioned have repositioned themselves right back to where they were originally to create the same eyebags I sought surgery to correct. Sigh!
I will be going back in July for skin treatments and I plan to consult with the doctor about a revision blepharoplasty to remove the eyebag fat. However, I've heard that for some that's a bad idea as you tend to lose fat in your face as you age and can look hollower and older as a result.
So, I'm wondering if any ladies here have had a lower blepharoplasty to share their experience?
Be weary of their before and after pics. One thing I noticed when visiting the clinics is that they aren't quite as perfect looking. Yes, they look better, but the pictures look WAY more drastic because of lighting, makeup, and a skilled photographer.
A lot of the clinics show short clips from those photo shoots and while the girls do look better it doesn't look as drastic on the moving camera as it does in the still camera if that makes sense.
When you visit the clinic ask the doctor to show you before and after pictures. I like to see after pictures of them without makeup.
Hi.
I recommend Kakao as a lot of clinics use it too. It's a great way to call them. Esp., if they seem slower with emails.
I don't have an email address that I use for chatting about this stuff, sorry.
When it comes to price one thing you have to bear in mind is that YOU CAN BARGAIN! So you could probably knock off 1mil. Or at least I was able to. And the price you're quoted online is the highest. Think of it like buying a house.
I think my price was also more b/c I saw the head doctor. I was very specific about seeing the doctor who represented the clinic. Only b/c I've read his reviews. Some clinics quoted me less too.
Rhino/ Facial Fat Grafting / Blephplasty
Do you have Kakao? I can message you there with pics of clinics I see advertising calf reduction. I've noticed it a lot on the subway.
Hi Brobn,
Don't freak out. Just take your time and feel free to ask questions. Ask the consultants what certifications the doctors have that they would recommend for your surgeries. Google the doctors. There is actually a website in Korean that you can use to see that they are board certified there.
I'm here now and about to get my surgeries done in like...1 hour! Lol. I am happy to share to my experience.
But, I can say that so far the one piece of advise that I do have is to choose 2-3 clinics to meet in person. Look at their reviews, their doctors, their before and afters. Then, book a consultation.
I booked 6 clinics to meet with and it was a bad idea as I got too confused!
Oh, and for 3 surgeries I was quoted $8000USD..with free touch up and a few extras thrown in. What procedures are you having done?
Hi,
I had several consultations and I was quoted 2mil won. Also, I have heard & read that the reabsorbtion rate depends on the individual. I've met people who have had it done who have had no refills and others who have gone back a year or so later...
I had the same rhino procedures recommended. And after consulting several clinics (JW, Real, Regean, The Line) I only saw rhino at 5mil max. And, at the highest fat grafting was 2mil.
Dream seems expensive, but visit them in person and see if you can get a discount. But, if it fits into your budget and the doctor seems right for you, I guess its still better than the US or OZ.
I have to disagree here. I'm leaving next week and I have been emailing several clinics since early Feb.
The Line, Id, JW, and Cinderella were all very informative, answered all my questions, and seemed very courteous and kind in emails. Out of the 8 clinics I've spoken to only DARPS have not returned my emails, perhaps they don't have an English translator?
Everyone has different experiences I suppose.
Oh, thanks for the info. I'll have to research the de-swelling treatment.
I'm doing a vegetable juice fast and taking arnica to aid healing while I'm there, but this is treatment is news to me.
Hi,
Just wondering if paying in cash really makes a difference. I've heard this before and I just wanted to double-check and get more input as I'm headed to Seoul next week.
The quotes are something I've been freaked out about too. I'm leaving for Seoul next week. I've emailed clinics beforehand and I'm hoping I can bargain them down a lot! Also, as I've noticed on places like BabiTalk some of these clinics have promotions.
How far down did you bargain? 20%? 40%
Could you tell me what clinic you went to/ are going to for veneers? I'm heading off to Seoul in March for teeth and ps.
I've looked into a few clinics, there will be 3 that I will visit, but I'm always open to more advice...
How long ago did you have your teeth done? I had porcelain veneers done on the top 3 years ago and I love the results. Now, I'm just doing the bottom...
Huh, so we're going for the same exact thing. I had to push my trip back to March as Dr. Suh (specializes in rhino at JW ) wasn't available in Feb. and it seemed to be a little too close to plan for other clinics too. I only just started contacting them 2 weeks ago.
From the online consultations I really like JW. Would you mind sharing what they quoted you? Also, would you mind sharing other clinics that are on your list? I've also messaged Regen, Cinderella, Banobagi, DARPS (no reply), and the Line.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with dentists, in particular veneers in Seoul.
I'm planning on getting a 'makeup' this year with veneers, rhinoplasty, and fat grafting, implants. Yet, I can't seem to find many reviews on cosmetic dentistry in Korea.
If you have any advice or experience, please share. I'd really appreciate it!
Hi Lpl,
I will be heading yo Seoul right after you in March for rhinoand fat grating. One of the clinics I'll be visiting is also JW. I don't have much advise to give, but would you mind sharing your's?
Hope all is going well if you're in Korea now!
Thank you so much for this. This is definitely informative! So, helpful to the newbies going to Korea for their first time seeking any helpful info they can get.
