Hi! I haven't yet, I' m going to be in Korea in Feb to do my surgery! I think I will go with ITEM, I was going to go with DA but they don't have a translator anymore and they are slow to respond. :/

Section 7: Night before and Day of surgery

Sedation:

If you are undergoing sedation, do not eat or drink least 4-5 hours before your surgery. Some surgeons say 3 hours but I've known some people to chuck up by cutting it too close.

General Anesthesia:

If you are undergoing GA do not eat or drink or least 8 hours before surgery. Whenever I underwent general anesthesia I made it a point to refrain from food and water starting 12 midnight.

If for whatever reason you are very very uncontrollably thirsty (its called will power ppl!), you can request a disgusting mixture to drink before your surgery. But seriously....just use your will power.

Be mentally and emotionally prepared!

Make sure to speak to your surgery when you see him in the operating room. Just a final quick run down of what procedures he will be doing and how he would be doing it. For example, when i had acculift, I asked Dr Kim to circle the fatty pockets on my face which i wanted to target specifically.

IV will be inserted either into the arm, the vein on the surface of your wrist (not the underside) or through the vein on the surface of your hand. Some local anesthesia will be injected in the site. That's the part that stings the most. After that you won't feel anything from the needle. I personally prefer having the needle in my wrist area because it feels less restrictive. But it really depends on where your vein is most visible. Most people just do it at the arm.

When you wake up you might be a bit groggy so your clinic should let you rest in the ward for as long as you require. I do know some clinics who just send their patient off right after surgery. This is BAD! Make sure you will be allowed to rest in the ward for as long as you need. Confirm this with the staff during your consultation.

* Note: Don't be scared if you wake up during the operation should you be going under IV sedation. That is perfectly normal. Many of us have even started conversations with the surgeon while they are performing the surgery. I find that comforting personally because I trust my surgeons. I mean once you go into the surgical phase, all you can do is to trust your decision and your surgeon.

I read your thread about finding surgeons and everything. How do you find reputations on them? When I try to do search they usually say the hospital and not the surgeons themselves? Also, if you know any that specializes in eye surgery?

The only one I know particularly is Dr. Kwon from Teium?

I'm sort of in the same boat as you. My first surgery did not go well and I think it failed because I didn't get an epicanthoplasty. Our eyes are actually quite similar and I can see that you will need one as well. When do you plan on going to Korea?

U seem to look at big hospitals. They give you attractive prices to come to consultations and they are kind of like factory.. they switch doctors in the middle of surgery and it is super dangerous. (I heard it like that but I never experienced)

For cinderella, the quote scares u off a bit but try to come for consultation even if it is just for fun they might give u good price at the end (koz i've been there done that. I thought theyre expensive but i'm in gangnam anyway so i stopped by anyway then they cut the price huge amount..)

for other hospital, look at their styles and maybe go for smaller hospital that has maybe has a few doctors just enough for 1 small hospital.

Now I am looking at smaller hospitals because of suggestions by people on this forum which helps a lot! I crossed Teium, Grand, ID, Wonjin off my list haha.

I really like iWell and maybe ITEM. But I emailed ITEM and the lady seems kind of rude?? Maybe her English is just bad... I don't know. I think I might go to them for consultation in October and decide. Right now, iWell is at the top of my list and the doctors went to schools in the U.S. which I feel better about lol.

I would also recommend that you avoid Wonjin too, the negative reviews outweigh the positive experiences. I myself am heading to Seoul in September for eye bag fat repositioning so I've been looking at clinics that specialise in the eye area as well. I've got consultations lined up with Jayjun, Cooki, ITEM and iWell. Wannabe is another clinic that is worth trying to get in contact with! Late last year I was able to get in contact with them but I've noticed that since the beginning of this year they have stopped responding to all the 'online consultations' on their English website good luck

Hey guys, I am looking for a clinic to do basically all the procedures for the eye it seems. I talked to some clinics and they recommended ptosis, eyelid revision, epicanthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty and hotzcanthoplasty. Basically, what all these does is first, correct my correct eyelid surgery that didn't go so well (:/ ) and also to open up my eyes all the way around from opening the eye corners to the bottom of my eyes going horizontally and lowering it a bit.

Do any of you guys have any clinics you recommend??

I am looking at:
1. Teium (But it seems like Dr. Kwon doesn't really do lateral canthoplasty or hotzcanthplasty, haven't seen any pics :/ )
2. ID Hospital (There's some bad reviews and it seems they specializes in v-line surgery, they did say if I share my experience they can do a 10-50% discount...maybe? I did hear they are very streamlined, like they get people in and out... it's good and bad ?? Don't know how I feel about this topic yet).
3. Wonjin (Good and bad reviews, I really like the B&A they have, but they do have a story of someone dying there? O_O)
4. JW Plastic Surgery (Maybe? Heard a lot of good reviews but don't really like B&A, does anyone have experience???)
5. ITEM Plastic Surgery (still looking into, seems really nice, not yet heard a reply yet).

If anyone know any other hospital or surgeons you recommend, let me know!!

Some of my friends say that all of the clinics in Korea seems to be fine for the eyes. BUT!! I'm doing so much I don't want them to mess up!

I did look at Cinderella, but boy are they expensive...:/

Hi everyone! I will share my revision eyelid surgery with Dr Kwon with you guys. So I just got it done yesterday after a second consultation(I consulted Dr.Kwon once last week). I did revison ptosis correction, revision double eyelid and epicanthoplasty. My eyes are not balanced and I told Dr Kwon to please do his best to make it balanced and I showed him a picture of bigbang's TOP(Told him I wanted horizontal eyes like his because mine is kinda slanted up). Anyways Dr Kwon was super friendly and he told me he will try. I did the surgery at about 6:30pm(They were about to go home but decided to stay and do my surgery because they were fully booked for the rest of the week and I have to fly off next week). So went in to the surgery room and the nurses tied me up and put something over my head which covers everything and only exposes my head. They used a towel to make something like a turban where my hair is not all over the place. Ok moving on. I think they gave me some kind of anesthesia and I swear I was HIGH. I had the weirdest "dreams" EVER.(Weird stuffs, colors flashing, PANDAS?!(Animated ones) I think because I was watching kung fu panda 1, 2, 3 back at the hotel previously) Ok so I woke up and I thought the surgery is over, and Dr.Kwon came in and I heard his voice, I asked him if the surgery was over. And he said: Oh no, we are just about to start. (FCUK. ME.) So during the surgery the nurses kinda applied alot of pressure on my nose pushing it to the side for the epicanthoplasty and I kept repeating:"Please be gentle on the nose"(I had rhinoplasty last year(which was also not satisfactory. Anyways moving on..) so after a while the epicanthoplasty is done and they stopped pushing my nose bridge and I'm pretty relieved. After the epicanthoplasty I didn't know what surgery Dr.Kwon was performing already. He was humming to the sound playing on the radio and just doing his work, halfway through he told me he will give me more anesthesia and injected it into my eyes and told me we will have a break for 5 minutes. So afterwards he came back and finished the surgery and throughout the surgery he told me to open/close my eyes and the final part he told me to do it again twice and then he said:Ok it's done. I asked him if it was good and he said yes(I REALLY HOPE IT IS GOOD!) I told him I love him and said sarangheyo, he laughed , said thank you and left the surgery room, then come the nurses to tape my eyes. We were having some weird conversation as they couldn't understand alot of english, but we kinda talked about bigbang, g dragon, top and etc etc.After taping my eyes the nurses helped me to my room and i got changed and went out to the lobby of teuim. One of the pretty receptionists(everyone is pretty there even the nurse) went down with me to get a taxi for me. So right after the surgery it hurts pretty bad, got back to my hotel and took the medications teuim gave me and slept till today. Went back to teuim after lunch to remove the tape on my eyes and the nurse cleaned my eyes for me, saw doctor kwon again and he asked me how I was doing, I told him I'm good. After awhile 1 receptionist told me to follow her and we went to see doctor kwon again. He told me to open wide/close and said good and told me to apply ice pack to my eyes.. After that we left his room and he went to prepare for his next surgery. My next appointment is on next monday to remove the stitches. I hope this helps. Any questions do feel free to ask me

After exchanging consultation emails I finally decided and went to Korea last month. They gave me several clinic options but finally I decided to choose ID hospital. I had consultation with Dr. Hwang and he said I need epicantoplasty, incision double eyelid surgery with ptosis correction. I had the consultation with Dr. Hwang and surgery appointment on the same day! To tell you the truth, I feel very nervous when they asked me to change my clothes and prepare for surgery. I thought "this is it!" I was cold-sweating but the nurse was very kind, she held my hand as she took me to the surgery room. After that actually I only remember I'm getting sleepy and then the next thing I know Dr. Hwang wake me up and asked me to open and close my eyes and then I sleep some more. When I wake up I was told that pumpkin juice will help with my swelling and so docfinder helped me to get my medication and pumpkin juice. I only feel slightly dizzy but no major pain at all. After a week I got my stitches removed and my eyes wasn't bruising anymore, but still a little bit swollen. In my experience though, stitch removal is to most painful lol Anything is not painful except my last day haha So they encouraged me to continue walking around while drinking lots of water to quickly reduce my swelling. Overall I feel good and to all hospital haters: actually plastic surgery is not that bad, not that bad at all.

I'm not trying for the surprise look but it's because my eyes are uneven. The people said I should get a ptosis. I feel like i only need it in one eye though lol, not sure if they can just do one and not the other. I don't want to move up my eyes anymore (other then my left eye to correct my lazy eye cause the previous doctor messed up my double eyelid... ). But then they suggested a bunch of other things. I talked mainly to Cinderella and Wonjin. I'm leaning more toward Wonjin and they said they need to see me first before deciding if they are going to do all the surgeries or not.

I understand Korean fluently but medical terms are a challenge for me, so I paid a friend to come along and fill in the blanks that I wanted to express to my surgeon. I don't know if they have their own English translator, but it seems that they have an English website.

I want to do some correction surgery and also surgery to make my eyes bigger. I did the double eye lid but it's not that great, one eye is a lot more closed then the other. I am looking at Cinderella, Wonjin, ID hospital, Teuim, and Migo? Which ones do you guys recommend from experience for doctors who have a lot of experience and good at Dolly style eye? Thanks!

JYP is amazing, the staff is kind, doctor is kind and my results are perfect with barely any scarring... Just a tiny bit of residual swelling, but it's not visible. I'm almost 2 weeks post op i think
