I considered going to SK for a facelift, but had eye bags removed in Thailand, and they sagged. One sagged while i was there, so I was able to get a revision for that side, but the other side sagged after I returned to US. It's too far to go to Thailand for a touch up. That was why i looked into getting a facelift in US. If I have any problems, can get revision here. I don't have to travel abroad. I went in for a consultation, liked the surgeon. Have an appt for surgery in 6 weeks here -- picked a surgeon who is Asian American, thinking he would be more sensitive to Asian issues. He separated the facelift into a jaw/neck surgery, and a cheek surgery. I'm having the jaw/neck surgery.

If anyone wants to know who is good for what I have the lists. Or which clinics' doctors are best for what surgeries. You can feel free to ask me. Thank you all for your nice words. May be I’m quite negative, and may be I expected too much about doing plastic surgeries in Korea . That’s why I try to tell my story and post my photos to let you assess by yourself.

Now my eyes are absolutely normal, no pain, no swelling, no itchy, no bruise. I really really hope my eyes still the same day by day, not change anymore . My friend’s eyes are also healing well. I think her eyes are improved well after removing eye bags, no scar, no swelling (only after 4 – 5 days). Her nose is better too, but the tip is still round . I really hope it will be shapper as time goes by, as some of you said.

Lanvinfiend: Dr Anna didn’t tell me about the side effects or epi or lateral. She said they would make my eye bigger, a little bit. And I think my lateral and epi jobs were healing well, align with the healing time of non-incision DES. Only first several days, I feel very itchy because the stiches. As you see, I have nearly no scar from epi and lateral. May be my incisions are too tiny, especially in lateral, where i can't see the incision.

Popcorndreams, Wishingstar: As I said, her tip now is quite round, her bridge is not shapper much (after 2 weeks). She has to wait several months to see the final result. I will update more. If you want, i can send you her photos through Kakao .

I was wondering if anyone did mandible reduction(square jaw reduction) or double eyelids at JW? I want to go there but I'm scared that the end result will end up bad. I have been reading too many botched stories, but I really want to get the 2 surgeries.
Also, my mother wants to get accusculpt/lipo(under chin area) and laser(freckle removal on her whole face), do you guys know if they are good at doing those procedures? I've been looking online but not many results came up

i think consulations are free! So far, no-one has told me that they charge for a consult! The only price I got was to put a deposit down for surgery with JW, which I didn't agree to!

Ellen is nice and not pushy at all like others have said. I had originally planned to get a rhinoplasty along with DES but decided not to get it done this time (chickened out) and she was very understanding about that. Some other conveniences that I hadn't expected beforehand is that they actually accepted my currency (CAD, and even slightly better rate than the places in myeongdong) along with free airport drop off. And, I got some pumpkin porridge to eat right after the surgery and some skincare masks to take home^^

Regarding the DES itself, I got the incisional method, epi + lateral canthoplasty and ptosis correction. I wanted to get lower canthoplasty done too, but Dr Seo felt it was unnecessary (pointing out that it's more suitable for slanted eyes, which I didn't have) so I ended up not having that done. Instead, he would just fix the outer corner of the eye slightly lower during lateral to get a similar effect. I was worried that the incisional method has a very long downtime, but it actually wasn't so bad for me. I don't know if it has any effect, but they will give you a vitamin drip the day after which is nice to help with healing. I was really nervous before the surgery but I honestly didn't feel any pain during the operation except a tiny bit at the very end (when he was doing the lateral cantho). It wasn't bad though, I guess it was nearing the end anyways so they didn't want to put me through local anesthesia again. I also didn't feel a thing when they put the needle in for local anesthesia or was aware of when they were even doing so because I was sedated a little before hand (if you're worried about this, make sure to confirm with the clinic that they will sedate you before and it shouldn't be painful at all ).

Now I'm at a little over 3 weeks post op and I am loving my eyes for the most part, I think it looks quite natural. Only thing that kind of bums me out is that a bit of my epi fold is still there on one eye. I sent a pic and message to Ellen on Kakao and she told me the doctor said it's very difficult to remove an epi below the lash line without major scars so it looks like I'll have to leave it..

Hello I will be traveling to Korea soon and wanted to find out the best places in Myungdong (exact names) to exchange currency. Is there a big difference per $1000 USD between Myungdong and Gangham?

Second Question: I've been hearing that you need to have a Korean bank account or SS number to rent a simcard. Can anyone share precise information on which company I can rent a simcard at the airport? I do not have an account in Korea. Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help! I plan on sharing my experience in Korea on this forum when I return.

I think the cheaper one is unfortunately bad for areas like Myeongdong/Gangnam (which they even state on the website) so you'll probably have to get the better one if you want wifi in the popular PS areas lol

Use Google maps! All the plastic surgery clinics are on there if you search them, and google tells you exactly the stations to get on/off.

Hapagirl, V line is a facial contouring procedure so dunno what that consultant was on about....You can try botox tho. Botox works miracles for me to the point where everytime I get my injections people say "OMG did you do your jaw again?" because it looks dramatically slimmer. The reason for this is because my wide jaw is largely due to the jaw muscles, which is the case with most people too. Facial contouring corrects shape and not width when there is no significant protrusion to the side. Botox gives me a dramatic narrowing of the jaw also because I have been using it for 9 years. This means my lower jaw muscles have remained paralyzed and dormant for 9 years, leaving it in a weakened state compared to people who only used botox a few times. Because of this the results is very significant for me.

I spoke to Ellen via kakao prior to consultation to book a consultation slot, however my flight was overbooked n delayed for a day, end up I missed the timing for my consultation. I was late for almost 2hrs. My consultation at MVP took about 3hrs though. I had my consultation on Tue afternoon, went back to book for surgery slot on Wed after visiting all the clinics. My surgery was on Thur.

I contacted their main line using Korea to request for an English consultant. Then they have me Ellen's kakao ID. I can give it to you.
