  1. The thread lift doesn't work; a facelift is definitely not permanent, especially after jaw reduction. I have had jaw reduction and facial contouring at ID Hospital. I needed a facelift immediately after healing, and six years later, I'm long due for another lift but I can't go through another surgery because I am terrified that another surgery is going to kill me, or worse, I'll survive it but go through another botched situation.

  2. I wish you the best of luck, if you insist on having your surgery, but if you were my child, I would say, don't do it.

I had surgery at ID six years ago and I have had nothing but problems from the get go.

I don't know what you mean about mid face reduction, but I had an elongated face; after two-jaw, vline and zygoma reduction, the mid section of my face seemed long to me. I hated the way my chin was all short but my cheeks somehow looked really long.

Today, my jowls and neck continue to fall and sag; my teeth are very weak, especially the entire top row; and, my lower jaw vibrates.

You think everyone at your clinic is really nice; just wait until you are dissatisfied with your results - "cold", would be an under-statement.

  3. Im 53, after six breast surgeries, since the age of 24, my best advice to you would be, unless your breasts are truly misshapen, don't tamper with your breasts, at all.

You will want or need a revision definitely; you will lose any normal feel in your breasts, as you will have a foreign substance inside them; the skin and the insides of your breasts will never be the same after you tamper with it; even your nipple sensation will be affected.

My nipples always hurt. I breastfed my first two babies, before I had surgery; the latter two, after BA, I couldn't breastfeed, because it was so painful when they suckled on the nipple.
Now, my breasts are misshapen after many attempts to make them look normal.

I wish I could make them look normal again but I just don't want to have another surgery. This desire for perfection through elective plastic surgery is like a parasite within.

  4. I am a Korean-American from U.S., who also traveled to Korea, for two-jaw, v-line and several other procedures. I am post op from ID Hospital, going on six years now.

It was a disaster from the very beginning. I invested a lot of money and time, post-ID, in order to look decent. Six years later, my neck and jowls have increasingly fallen more and more each passing day, and, yesterday morning, I noticed that I was unable to shut my teeth closed, without feeling a very small chattering of my lower jaw. It was like a low hum of a chatter, if I can try to explain this better. It's not happening this morning, but I can feel weakness in the lower jaw.

I had a review up but they sent a very unscrupulous attorney after me and bullied me to take it down, while calling me "ugly inside". Now, I'm just stuck with a face that is falling and a jaw that is getting weaker. All of my teeth are very weak. Is anyone else experiencing these?

    Blasian, please contact me.

  5. Hi. I have had double jaw surgery them got braces afterwards. it is true. You should get surgery in the middle of treatment. You run into a lot of complications if you don't.

  6. I have a friend who got a botched jaw contouring and fat grafting ten years ago, here in the U.S. I met her in Korea while getting our facelifts at Aone. Before surgery, her lower face was visibly saggy and skin texture; uneven and bumpy (kind of). After the facelift, it became all smoothed out and she looks really great now. I'm not recommending Aone for your facelift, but I am saying that if you do your homework to find a surgeon that you're comfortable with, you may find success with just a facelift.

  7. Thanks so much, dear. Good luck to you, too.

  8. I don't think you need to know the terms exactly, but you should know exactly what you want.

Is my review on RealSelf a blog post? Do you mean that I should do one here? Maybe, but I feel like most people here don't want to hear a negative story.

  9. I think that the younger you are, the less the sagging will appear. However, I heard, as you grow older, the sagging will be more prevalent. I know that they do bone contouring in the US; it is not done so aggressively as they do in Korea. They chopped off half my face in Korea. I'm sure if I had went to a surgeon in US and wanted to chop off half my face, they wouldn't do it.

It does seem as though Korean doctors get away with a lot. I've heard a lot of stories; but I won't let that deter me! I asked ID hospital for my CT scans but they're not sending them to me. I'll do what I can to get them and expose them on every media that I am able to.

I'm sorry, I didn't understand the last parts of your comment.

  10. Hi Ilektra! You didn't wear me out. I appreciate you reading my story and asking. Are your planning to get a facelift? Where do you want to go for facial contouring and why? What happened that made you depressed and wanting to isolate yourself?

My facelift was a SMAS lift from Aone. The doctor didn't say how long it would last (I didn't ask) but I'm sure it's different for everyone. In my case, I'm sure it won't last long because of the condition my face was in after all of my attempts to repair the damage from bone reduction. For it to heal to the final result, I'd say it took about 3 months. It's been approximately 5 months now and much of the sagging has returned. It is much better than before albeit I still look and feel weird. I have already had some feeling of tightness and numbness in the lower facial region from the previous procedures so if there are any new neve damages, I don't really notice them. I paid a total of $22K for the facelift, revision rhinoplasty, revision lateral epicanthoplasty, and fat graft. I've gotten fat grafting 3 times to the face and I'll tell you, it's not worth it! It all gets re-absorbed and damages your face more. Hahaha about the doctor's mannerism - yyeah! I complained that I didn't like the result of my rhinoplasty and he got so offended! He said it was done very well and I'm sure he tried very hard (I guess?); but I still hate my nose. Girin had really messed it up already and he was repairing it; but it is still awful.

  11. Hi. Thanks for reading my story. As you know, all I really wanted, initially, was the 2 jaw surgery. I was talked into doing all the additional procedures. That is what makes me so mad; and the dishonesty of the doctor not warning me that most definitely, I will experience sagging. They know everybody will to varying extents. They just won't say so.

The reason bone contouring is not a popular procedure here in the US is not because they don't know how to do it or because they are behind in the times; it is because of the cosmetic complications of the skin after bone reduction. They know, they will have a lot of unhappy campers. The surgeons in Korea don't seem to care if patients are happy/unhappy after surgery. It seems that they are looking forward to your departure back to your home. They are known to go as aggressively as they please not concerned about the repercussions.

Regarding your jaw: I'm not saying that you should get the bone reduction surgery but if you feel that you absolutely have to; if I was you (knowing what I know now), I might go for a more subtle reduction. I know those pictures of cute little faces and those reviews with perfect results are enticing; but with what I know now, since I don't know how my skin will react and I certainly can't trust the surgeon to be completely honest with me, I would rather be safe than devastated. Just shave it down a little bit so that it's more acceptable to you. And for goodness sakes, don't let anyone talk you into tacking on other procedures! I got completely sucked in and got so many unnecessary things that I didn't need. I've been spending the past two years just trying repairing those mistakes, as well as, my drooping face.

  12. I had the revision for my lateral epicanthoplasty disaster (from Girin) done at Aone. I am satisfied to the extent that my eyes do not look like a St. Bernard dog anymore. Is it perfect? No. The red inside the outer corners and the upper/lower eyelids are still showing. I have to wear a lot of black eyeliner to cover it up. Plus, there is a bit of scarring. Not much though; it doesn't bother me as much as the red in my eyelids showing.

  13. The difference between 2 jaw and mandible contouring surgeries are: 2 jaw is when they cut across your nasal cavity AND completely sever your lower jaw in order to freely move them (forward or back, depending on whether you have an over or under bite) to give you a more proportioned profile; the mandible contouring (aka Vline or square jaw contouring) is for reducing the length and width; shaping the jaw.

BEWARE their many great ads and marketing campaigns that lure you into having these procedures done, thinking you will end up just as cute and happy as the girls in the ads. In the end, you may end up with a cute profile and small face AND an onslaught of sagging skin that no longer have bone structure for support. I know. I am 2 years post-op from ID Hospital. I have been living the nightmare. You can see my review in realself under my same name, if you're interested.
