  1. He is definitely a good surgeon. I didn't mind that he didn't have very good bedside manners either, since I was going there from a previous bad surgery & was too worried about other things.

My eyes are perfect now. He made them just the way I wanted them although they are still a bit swollen, I like the shape & size. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Good luck & hope you update us with pics if you don't mind later

  2. I went to Dr. Kim as well & he'll ask you what you want done & give his opinion on it.

I think you need rasping, which will shave down the bumps on top. If you are looking for more height, a silicon or Goretex implant, a little osteotomy for the sides of the nose to get a little more narrow, & a little tip work to make the tip a little sharper & higher instead of going downwards. It sounds like a lot but it's just little corrections to give you a beautiful nose afterwards.

  3. I see what you mean about the curved bridge. Unless it's way too curvy for you, I still say to let it heal out & then change it.

I was never really one to like the curved noses but I let Dr. Jung give me a slight barely there curve & it looks really good. So if your like me, maybe you will like your nose too once the swelling goes down.

  4. If you can, I really suggest you wait it out. After all you just got silicon with a layer of Goretex on top so it should be fairly easy to take out after 6 months if you still don't like it then.

I thought there is no way that my silicon nose will look natural but months later, it miraculously did! There is more swelling than what you see a week or two after surgery. It keeps going down & keeps looking better the more time you give it. From my 2nd month & 5th month there was a noticeable difference too so your nose is still healing during that time.

Btw, I'm curious to know who your surgeon is? Good luck whatever you decide ;)

  5. You don't know how happy I am. This was seriously my final time getting my nose done & I'm grateful everyday that I like it. My nose looks so natural already, I love it. But it's not the wide looking natural if that makes sense.

I did wear that hot water splint for like a day or two. Funny story is one day I fell asleep with it on & several hours later when I woke up, I bolted awake & felt that splint on my nose & took it off. Then imagined I felt little ridges or something & looked in the mirror & all was fine lol. I don't know about other people but everytime I woke up from little naps I looked in the mirror right away to make sure nothing shifted or horrendously turned wrong lol :sweatdrop:

  6. Don't worry, I think you are a good candidate for plastic surgery & will turn out fine. I've seen worse cases than yours & it still turned out ok. Btw, I don't think your nose is horrendous or anything :Push:

  7. Ok I'm about 17 days post op & I love my new nose so much. It has mostly deswelled & I am in love! When I had the silicon, I loved the way it looked kinda defined & sharp & was willing to let that go for a more natural nose since it was too straight looking at times but right now my nose looks similar to the silicon except a little more natural which is exactly what I was wanting this whole time.

I love the height of my nose but will still love it as it goes down. I'd be happy either way actually but I know it'll go down a bit. From the side it looks so natural with the tiniest bit of a curve, not too much since I don't like the nose too curvy. From the front it looks so nice & defined but not too stick straight, it looks so nice!!

My mom cannot stop complimenting me on my new nose. My bf even said good things about my nose even when it was swollen which is opposite of what happened when I had the silicon. My silicon nose took 4-5 months for it to deswell & look good but the Goretex is healing very quickly.

Oh & this may sound weird lol but I love the way my nose looks from the bottom. Before my nose was cute & small so my nostrils were small & roundish. Now that my tip is elevated nicely, it makes my nostrils from below just the tiniest bit ovalish which looks so nice. Haha, it makes it look more prettier & mature if that makes sense.

I only wish I went to Dr. Jung the first time. Oh well you live & learn.

Oh & about the tip, please wait a 4-6 months. It really does take a very long time to heal.

Also about the smile, trust me when I say this, it took me like 4-6 months to smile normally. I hate it when someone makes me laugh uncontrollably because it feels like my nose is going to open up & my upper lip area feels funny. It will definitely go away. I was worried for the longest time before but by 6 months you will forget you even had your nose done.

  8. I can see them wanting to see you often for followups but I think it's unreasonable for them to expect to see you that much afterwards, especially considering alot of people are coming from out of town. I'm assuming people are coming from out of town because he's a famous doctor, not just some local doctor only.

Of course if you really want your nose done by him, I say go for it. The only thing is make sure you have money to go back to see him once or twice in case your nose is giving you problems & for a couple of checkups

  9. First time it was a block & Dr. Jung uses sheets. Sheets are harder & more time consuming to use. Yeah the goretex came out all fine because it was in there such a short time it hadn't settled in yet.

If you do change out Goretex later on, it isn't impossible to do. It's just something alot of surgeons don't have experience with but you just have to find a skilled surgeon who knows how to take out Goretex.

  10. Ok, I just got back from taking out my stitches. Not painful but I do feel better after having my nose cleaned out too.

I am really liking my new nose so far! It's still thick looking & the tip is huge but I like the overall shape & can't wait for it to go down & also for the sides to kinda slim down.

The sides of my nose are bruised a little though. I kinda look like I had a rough night or something lol :P

  11. I thought conchal was ear cartilage? If so, you can only use that for the tip, not the bridge. Costal which I believe is rib cartilage can be used for the bridge.

  12. Just to touch on some points here:

Goretex is not going to be as sharp as silicon, it is supposed to look more natural. If you want a sharp nose, I suggest silicon then.

Your own cartilage can also have the risk of warping. Usually if done by a good doctor it won't happen but it's still a risk with cartilage.

Also, as with most doctors that I've read about. You can't just go off the pictures on the website. It gives you an idea of their work but when I went into Dr. Jung's & Dr. Kim's office they had a whole computer of before & after pictures I've never seen on their website & they are much better than what you see online. ;)

  13. My skin is on the thinner side too. Anyways Goretex doesn't destroy your nose bone, it molds with your tissues on your nose to bind together. Silicon is just encapsulated in your nose so it's always sitting on top of your nose & tissues just grow around it.

I think the complication risk for Goretex vs. silicon is almost the same except last article I read it said Goretex was 1-2% safer than silicon.

If you just got a silicon implant without breaking your nose or shaving it down, it will be the same when they take it out.

  14. If the silicon was implanted well it shouldn't move but I think there is an easier chance to move than Goretex. If someone felt my nose they wouldn't of been able to tell, no steps, it blends smoothly like my real nose. No one really feels your nose anyway so no worries there. My skin is still fine from the revisions. I've had many revisions & I'm still ok, I think you will be just fine

  15. About the upper lip movement, give it a few months. Before I noticed that I talked a bit funny & couldn't smile all the way but all that goes away after a few months. Especially if you have alarplasty, give it 3-6 months.

I just got my bandages & splint removed the other day & got new ones on. I felt my nose & it felt good, I didn't want to really see it yet lol.

They tried to clean my nose as much as they could inside but I woke up this morning with a crusty inner nose again from my sniffles & can't stop touching it. It bothers me but then again I don't want to rip it out or make it bleed. Argh! :cursing:

  16. I waited 6 months which is the suggested time. It is ok to change as long as you wait at least 6 months.

Right now my nose just feels swollen. I don't really have a tingly feeling except I have this splint on my nose. When I had my nose done before, I never really had a tingly feeling but maybe a few times while it was healing but it definitely goes away. Just your body adjusting to it I guess.

I don't know how this nose will look since I just got it but from previous I liked the Goretex better. It just looked more natural & smooth & blended with your face. The silicon looked good too but a bit more stick like & made my nose skin more shinier too. :Push:
