I tried to wear it as much as I could during the first 2 weeks- half of the day, whenever i slept, or i would alternate with the hold/cold compress they gave me which wasn't as tight. after 2 weeks i felt like most of the swelling went down so i just gave up on the band plus it was really uncomfy

Hi again, thanks for the kind feedback! I'm writing an update since its been nearly 5 months since my surgery. The recovery went well, I really feel only the tiniest bit of numbness around the incision in my gum but everything is functional. I still feel like my head is too small and the doctor cut just a little too much bone. Also I noticed something recently- when I smile, my face looks weird from the side, like a little front piece of chin is drooping down and it definitely looks unnatural... when not smiling, my profile looks significantly better than before. Also the small double-chin does exist and happened to me but doesn't bother me too much.

I haven't been keeping up with the forums but I've read a few negative things about Regen like doctor suspension and them closing down? Some people say its true, some dont, I think they're doing fine but honestly have no idea. After reading more reviews, if I could redo this whole experience, I honestly would probably go to TFD or EU dental because i needed chin correction only. And I've also seen great results from View, Banobagi, and TLPS so I'd probably consider those.

Thanks for keeping us updated! Was wondering if you wore the compression band regularly? If so, for how many weeks/months? I know it's advised to keep it on for an hour with a break of 30 minutes or so in between, but just curious how long you wore your's for? I plan to wear mine for at least a month, so paranoid about sagging!

Btw, what procedures are you looking to get? I initially reached out to the username of "tlps" on kakao, but discovered after visiting their IG designated specifically towards facial contouring, that they could be reached at "tlfacialcontouring" on kakao. Got an immediate response that way. Melissa handles fc, eyes, and I think nose inquiries, so if you're wanting to get something else done, maybe try to reach out to her line, and ask her to direct your message? Lol

Please don't automatically write them off! I just had surgery with them and Melissa, the English consultant, has been very caring and helpful. I'm only a few days post op, but will post my thoughts soon. They must just be busy? When I went in to get my stitches cleaned around lunch time yesterday, there were about 8 people in their reception room and a lot of people coming up and down the elevator. Anyhow, she responds fairly fast on Kakao. You can look up username: tlacialcontouring

I would suggest you try regen with Dr oh who speaks fluent English and lectures all over the world teaching surgeons how to do his zygoma reduction and v line. Then there can be no misunderstanding through interpreters.

I understand what you mean about calliecat as she got a great result but she was a blogger and featured in gng videos. Most patients are regular people and it is disappointing gng did not treat them the same.

That was also my feeling with regard to how GNG responded to my dissatisfaction with my natural results with rhino and ptosis despite me asking repeatedly for a dramatic change for rhino, especially. I know the limitations of ptosis correction. I wouldn't use the words "conned" or "botched" in my case. My rhino doctor did produce a nice natural look..for the most part... but I felt they were very dismissive and unwilling to do much to please their clients after taking their money. I agree with everything @AshleyLovesYou has stated above!

I've never posted here but I've lurked for I think nearly 5 years. I am not Asian but became aware of Asian cosmetic surgery when I was still a teenager. I grew to really hate my face at a young age and it completely effected my whole life. I stopped leaving the house because I felt so ugly. So of course when I saw all the Korean surgeries, I was mesmerized and swore to get it someday. This forum gave me all kinds of information about it and I want to thank you girls a lot for always trying to help each other, warn each other when need be, everything else.
I finally went to Seoul for v-line and zygoma reduction earlier this year. Though there is still some swelling, I think enough time has passed for me to make an honest assessment of the results. Also, I see a few girls here planning to consult with GNG soon so I want to help in any way I can.

Over the years I considered many different clinics, most seriously EverM (who I would have consulted with had I know how to get a hold of them, does anyone know if their English support has progressed at all?). But I became set on GNG after seeing one girl who had a drastic change after surgery there. It was incredible and kind of scary but exactly the change I wanted to see, and I appreciated how GNG was very accommodating to foreign and English patients. The process of online consultation to in person consultation was very easy with them and GNG ended up being the only clinic I consulted with. I nearly arranged last minute consults with Girin and TFD, but my in person consultation with GNG went further than I expected and I was so sure I would get a big change like that girl that I paid for it on the spot and my surgery was booked for the next morning.

During the consultation, we went over what changes could be made to my face. There was a lot of talk of symmetry and improving my chin and cheekbones. Not too much talk on mandible change or actually creating a "v" shape, which is what I wanted most of all, and I think this turned out to be a huge mistake on my part for not emphasizing that. I did give them an example of my ideal face shape that showed a woman with a very slim v-shaped jawline, and I went over it a bit with the consultants. I didn't speak much with the surgeon, but I believed based on the picture we were all on the same page about what I wanted. The consultation overall was quite fast and efficient and they were really willing to work with me on price. I felt that they did want to help make me prettier and I still believe that to be genuine.

When I woke up after the surgery on the recovery floor, I was told it went well. One of the consultants (the one who calculates the price, can't remember her name) gave me a little rub on the arm because I was in such rough shape, it made me want to cry because it seemed like a thing a mother would do and my own mother had no idea what I was actually doing. I stayed at GNG for 2 nights and part of the 3rd day. The nurses were great. I think only 1 spoke English and she told me before I was discharged that they were all worried about me because I wasn't really eating and didn't have a lot of strength. So maybe recovering was slower for me than most patients.

My final doctor visit when scheduled for 1 week post op. The week of waiting was kind of hard and lonely. I didn't have anyone to talk to (no one knows about the surgeries) and I couldn't eat much because I was so low on money and could hardly open my mouth, so again, it was just a really lonely week. For comfort, I thought of the guy I love back home and how I might finally have the confidence to talk to him soon.

When I went back for the last appointment, they gave me some deswelling treatment and the surgeon showed me some x rays of my face. It did look quite impressive. He seemed pleased. A few days later, I flew back home in what was hopefully the worst flight of my life because the guy next to me quite literally slept on me most of the 12 hour trip. The only person who really noticed I was swollen was my mother, who I saw nearly 2 weeks post op. And that leads to what I've really been wanting to say. I know I'm still a bit swollen, but not nearly swollen enough for there to be some big change left waiting to be seen. More or less, I think the face I'm seeing now is my 'final' result. I'm not happy with it. That's maybe putting it very lightly. There are some improvements, mostly from the side (my jawline does look less square from an angle, my chin was definitely pushed forward), and my cheekbones do protrude far less from the sides, but overall I look very much the same. I don't look at all like I just spent $12,000 on surgeries. The other day, I was leaving my job and saw my reflection on the exit door and felt horrified because the face looking back at me was so familiar: I had seen her 2 months ago, before I ever went to Korea and spent almost every dime I had to not see her again. I cried all the way home and every night since.

I don't think I'm really upset with GNG. Overall, I have a positive feeling about their hospital still. They were friendly, simple and genuine. No bad side effects (except oilier skin? kind of weird), no clicking noises or sagging. I'm more upset with myself. I worry there was a real lack of communication on my part, because I was so shy and didn't know what to say when I was actually there. I've wanted these surgeries for years and to actually have been there, I wasn't ready for. As I said, they talked a lot about changing my chin and cheekbone protrusion, and those areas have improved a bit from surgery. "v line" seemed less emphasized, and that was probably my fault because I should have made it clearer that's what was most important to me.

I waited to write this 'review' because I was hoping it would just take a bit more time for the real results to come in. But I'm afraid that time has passed. So I hope, for any of you still reading, please be really clear with your surgeon about what you want. You need to make sure they are on the same page, especially if you are speaking to them through a translator because some nuance of language gets lost, I think. I hope I can be of help to anyone who has any questions, I plan to stick around here for at least a few months to give any updates (trust me, if anything exciting happens, I'll write about it) or answer any questions and you can send me a message for my kakao id to talk there too. I can be with you every step of the way if you need me, even if it's late at night. I don't want any of you to be as alone as I've been.

Had a checkup and laser treatment today. No infection, healing well.
Was able to eat a slice of cheesecake as breakfast today. It tasted sooo good...
Think the worst of aching and burning pain has passed.
Managed to get a decent amount of sleep last night as well.

I think everyone should be advised that nothing you read here on the forum will prepare you physically, mentally and emotionally for the pain and discomfort of day 1 to day 3. There is tingling and burning and aching all over your face and lips and it never stops.
It really does something to you when you are already feeling weak from not being able to eat or drink.

If I could I plan this trip over again I would have gone with Air bnb or hostel with people going through the same thing.

Good news is I'm a sissy and really do not like being left alone in these kinds of situations and I've somehow pulled through.

Please check out which soft foods you know you can eat BEFORE the surgery and stock up if you can and bring water

I'm kinda in two minds about this procedure. To be honest, all my friends think I'm crazy for going for this procedure since I have little double chin and I have a sharp jawline from the side view. But I can see my lower cheek sagging from the front when I don't smile. I've wanted to do this for years. Anyone has a similar issue?

Just got back to the hotel after surgery.
So unreal. Discomfort 10/10. Pain 8/10

Got random heavy nosebleeds after surgery when I tried to walk around. The first four hours were brutal, the four hours after that slightly better.

Tried to get a taxi from the clinic but after two taxis stopped, saw how scary I looked and drove on, I gave up

Don't know if I'll be able to sleep. Hope I feel better tomorrow.

Did you experience skin sagging / double chin?

At 6 month post no sagging or double chin is present. Like many others stated factors of age and how the surgeon cuts the bone/rearrange the skin determines the outcome. But even at 6 months I am still swollen and my face is continuing to shrink so I am going to keep an eye out for saggy skin. (**I did get fat grafting and acculifting so those are also factors on why I may not have saggy skin)

Did other people notice it?

Well...yes. Hahah I had a square face from forehead to chin. So, personally, my change was dramatic. Right after one month of surgery (super swollen, view my 1st month pics if you can) when I got back home from Korea I met my friends for lunch and their mouths drooped. They told me I looked like a different person. It did not really hit me until I was drinking wine with my sister and my brother-in-law parents thought I was 18.

Are there any problems?

Fortunately, I did not have any problems or complications. When I woke up from surgery I still had feeling in my mouth and tongue (gums were numb). I could move my jaw around with no pain or numbness. Shout out to you Dr. Yun! hahah

Did you stay overnight at your clinic for a long time?

I stayed at the clinic for two nights. It was only supposed to be one, and I was ready to head back to my hotel, but the coordinator said she was worried for me because I was alone in Korea with nobody. She recommended and wanted me to stay another night for extra care. I never cried since waking up from the surgery but I cried when she said that.
