Here’s an updated photo, left is before and right is after. In may I went back to Korea and did genio, buccal fat removal, and facial lipo at the face dental.
I was terrified of this as well but luckily I haven’t had any hairloss. The incisions are really small and difficult to see. I attached a photo from 3 weeks post op.
Did the doctor show you your xrays after surgery? Did you see a lump? If not it sounds like swelling, although all my hard swelling went away by 1.5 months but everyone heals at different rates
About 3 months out. A lot of swelling has gone down on my nose and face since the last time I’ve updated. I still feel quite a bit of swelling, so I imagine I’ll continue to see small changes until 1 yr post op.
Yes transportation is super easy (subways and taxis). If you can try to join a kakao group you can usually find some people who are free and want to hang out.
Korea is SOOOO safe and easy to navigate and everyone is very nice. The only reason why I would recommend having a buddy or hanging out with others is that it helps the healing process go by quicker. It also helps to lessen post-op depression.
Something to keep in mind is that you might swell A LOT which is what happened to me. I’m 1.5 mo post op and still swollen. When I went back to work at 2 weeks post op I told my coworkers I had an allergic reaction. When I saw my parents at 1 mo post op I told them I got laser lipo and that’s why I was swollen lol.
Fortunecat gave some really good advice about how to pay for the surgeries!
As for accommodations most folks stay in the Sinsa or Gangnam area while recovering. A lot of Airbnb hosts are used to tourists coming for medical tourism so it’s not weird.
I still tend to be very swollen in the morning and by the end of the day my face deswells a lot. Pretty excited for the next few months when the effect of the acculift will start kicking in.
I did fc and rhino and it's VERY difficult to even give a simple kiss (I'm one month post-op). You definitely will not be able to give head until your jaw function is back (could be months). I can only open my mouth about 2 inches. If you can skip the kissing and oral sex for a while everything else should be fine
My bottom teeth were really sore after vline but after 2 weeks the feeling went away. I didn’t do genio I just did long cut mandible and chin reduction. The girls I spoke to that did genio seem to have persisting lower teeth pain which makes sense since the chin is still repairing itself. Hang in there!
Here’s a collage I’ve been working on as well in case anyone wants a quick view of my healing process. I did my eyes and forehead 5 days prior to vline and rhino.
I got really really swollen and just wanted to show what the reality of the healing process looks like (lol lots of drool):
No I didn’t have to submit my passport which made me feel more comfortable using them. When you submit your passport you’re more or less officially locked into that agency’s service so even if you go alone you’re still considered their client and they get a commission.
I assume they get a commission. Even when you consult/get surgery by yourself the consultant at the clinic will get a commission if you use misooda
I assume they get the commission instead.
They may or may not accompany you depending on the clinic. For example at girin she accompanied me my second consultation for vline and rhino cause the translator wasn’t available. But otherwise didn’t need to come. She did accompany my friend who went to view every single time because view requested her presence.
Their main aim is to negotiate prices for you and to make sure your suregeey is successful.
Non-incisional DES, ptosis correction, medial epi, forehead lift with endotine, rhino with silicon, lateral osteo, vline, zygoma reduction, acculift on jowls and double chin
I didn’t get lateral cantho because my eyes curve downward so I was not a good candidate for this procedure.
Forehead lift was added because the weight of my forehead was literally pushing down on my eyes. My eyelids were asymmetric and really hooded. My eyebrows were also asymmetric.
I also paid a little extra to have acculift because my face has a lot of soft tissue and Dr. Lee recommended that I do this (I also already knew before coming to Korea I’d probably need it).
