Primary Rhinoplasty Surgery

I arrived at the clinic and was asked to complete the final payment. The pricing provided was local pricing and the clinic did not employ consultants, therefore, there was no need to bargain. I was then told that I would be given a tax refund receipt and I could choose whether to receive that now or later - reason being some patients actually lose their receipt! I opted to receive mine at that point in time since I never lose my belongings. I was then escorted to see Dr. Paik once again. He took my before photos, and drew out the exact changes he would make on my printed photographs. He had a steady hand, and kept erasing and re-drawing until it was perfect! Again, he asked if I agreed with his drawings and assessments, which I did, and I was ready for surgery! To give a quick insight to his recommendations, I was advised to undergo open rhinoplasty - dorsal augmentation with a soft silicone implant (4mm which was decided during operation), layered ear cartilage grafts for tip, and tip projection, rotation, and narrowing. Although I thought I needed alar base reduction (along with other surgeons), Dr. Paik did not recommend it and said the ear cartilage grafts were sufficient in narrowing my nostrils. I trusted his judgement and did not proceed with it.

Next, a nurse brought me to another floor to get changed, put away my belongings, and wash my face thoroughly prior to surgery. Then I was brought into the operation room and laid down on the bed. They proceeded with the local sedative/anesthesia injections and made me 100% comfortable. I remember seeing Dr. Paik enter the operation room and was knocked out shortly after.

When I awoke from surgery, I was still laying on the operation bed. I felt no pain, only minor discomfort from anesthesia. Since all their surgeries are scheduled beforehand, I was not rushed out and could take as much time as I needed until I was ready to be moved off the operation bed. A nurse was attending to me in another room and when she checked on me and noticed I was awake, asked me if I was ready to move to a more comfortable bed. I responded “yes”, and she helped me up and into one of the recovery rooms on the same floor. I remember being thirsty, slightly dizzy and tired so I went straight to sleep after sipping some water. When I awoke, the nurse asked me if I was hungry, and again spot on, I responded “yes”. She then brought me some rice porridge and it was the most delicious thing I tasted in a while! That same porridge would be my food of choice during my next few weeks of recovery, but I digress. After eating, the nurse asked if I was able to walk around, and I said “yes”. She asked me if I felt dizzy or tired, and I said “no”. She asked if I was ready to go home, and I said “yes”. I headed home straight away and that was the end of my rhinoplasty surgery experience.

I had check-ups every other day after operation for one week, then 2 more additional check-ups 3 days apart. The nurses would provide antibiotic injections and hair washes. Dr. Paik would personally review my nose at every check-up and let me know the progress. My stitches were removed on the 5th day, and cast was removed on the 7th day. I had no bruising, and swelling was very apparent on the 5th day when they removed my stitches and my partner had taken a picture of my nose (it looked a bit like Shrek!). When my cast was removed on the 7th day, the severe “Shrek-like” swelling had subsided. My new nose looked really amazing, albeit with swelling still intact. The only thing that bothered me, was the swelling on my bridge which drew my eyes too close together and made me look like an elf. I was informed by Dr. Paik that this swelling should subside over time. That in a period of 6 months to one year the final result will become apparent and my nose will be natural and harmonious with my face. He said my surgery results were very successful and I now have a beautiful nose, to which I wholeheartedly agreed.

Dr. Paik is truly a master of rhinoplasty and everyone should at least visit his clinic for a consult if they are considering rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty. Since my operation was such a success, I decided to write a detailed review for PS101 since there weren’t any thorough reviews of them on TPF. At the same time, this clinic gets booked up way in advance so they wouldn’t need me to shower them with praise anyway, they get plenty from other locals.

Other points I want to mention about this clinic – every time I was there for a check-up, the clinic was busy (in a good way) with patients for check-ups, consults, and surgery prep. Additionally, I was able to meet one other foreign patient from Thailand. She had 3 or 4 unsatisfactory rhinoplasty surgeries previously in Thailand and found Dr. Paik through a Korean friend. I was there when she did her final check-up with Dr. Paik and she was very pleased with the results. This just means that even patients with multiple revision rhinoplasty procedures can be satisfied with Dr. Paik’s results.

To give an update on my rhinoplasty condition, I am now 2.5 weeks post-op and the swelling on my bridge has subsided a lot. My nose definitely looks more natural now and fits my face very well – it doesn’t look fake or obvious, just an enhanced version of my old nose. There is just a small red scar from the columella incision which can easily be covered up by foundation or concealer if needed. I actually walk outside without makeup on many occasions and don’t even care about hiding the scar because it really doesn’t look that bad. To my family and friends whom I have shown my pictures to, they all say I have the perfect nose. Considering how easy the surgery and recovery was, I would do it all over again, just earlier if I had the chance!

I just had my consultation with Dr Paik today. Lovely conversation as this is my first time doing rhino, and he's the first doctor that I consult with, I am very excited yet clueless. LOL

Besides the good consultation experience with Dr Paik, I am pretty surprised that the clinic doesn't provide medications but giving us prescriptions to buy from pharmacy. (Is it better that way??)

Honestly, I'm a bit shock at the lack of after service described by the consultant. No facial services?? I was so looking forward to that.

Hi hohohalmoni, so you're happy with Dr Park's skill-closed rhino on you. But you recommended Dr Jeong open rhino skills to others. I wonder what is the difference between closed rhino and open rhino. Do you think open rhino will have better results? Do you mind sharing a picture of your nose? I would love to see

So I have a 2 week holiday in October and a 3 week holiday in December.
I'm thinking which procedure I should do first in October.
- Primary rhinoplasty or Breast augmentation

My job requires me to do our task/job quickly. Physically challenging especially manning the extremely heavy meal cart, and also helping passenger to put their bags in the storage compartment above.

My mind is telling me I should go with rhinoplasty first, because I just need to be careful when I work on board. Probably just need to deal with slight bruise and swollen (hopefully concealer can do the magic) and avoid having passenger or colleagues drop/throw things on my face. While BA I'm not sure if 14 days is sufficient enough for me to start heavy duty lifting, pull and push meal carts. (or you-members think otherwise?)

The reason I'm creating this thread is to gather your experiences and advice because I'm not sure which procedure (rhinoplasty or BA) can be recovered within 2 weeks before I resume working.

Ps: I'm going to Seoul in Oct and Dec for my procedure

Regards to Jane chuck, I believe she is sponsored by Hershe. Given that she's a blogger and influencer now. At first, I thought wow, MYR3000 is too good to be true, so I email Hershe and their reply to me is, estimation cost to remove accessory breast is USD3000 (that is nowhere near MYR3000 LOL)

I believe it's either she's sponsored or a typo mistake.

I must say, initially I've only considered GNG for my revision rhino but the results look pretty good! For both male and female clients, every before and after I saw I really liked cause they were really natural! I've liked GNG's results, but there were some that I didn't like. For Hanabi I've actually like 99% of their before and after which is saying a lot because I'm so picky. I'm going to email them for an online consult!

The clinic basically offers everything GNG does, an ENT specialist (who by the way, is the ONLY doctor that performs your rhinoplasty), an uninterrupted power system, and a post op care that not only includes the Oxygen Therapy, but also laser!

I wanna ask if anyone has heard or has any experience with this clinic! Because at this moment, I'm thinking this clinic is going to replace GNG in my mind.

P.S. I've never been so excited about a surgery clinic before. Like inside I'm feeling this is THE clinic for me. I don't know if you guys would feel the same way.

Dr Paik speaks and writes English flawlessly. They aren't expensive at all, especially given the expertise of the doctors there. Around $5-6k for revision rhino. Which is less than many lesser clinics are charging.

Yes, I had revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Paik -- I posted a thread on it you might want to check out. I had a rather unusual case with a rib graft on my bridge that required removal (it looked strange) after being there for many years. I also had a tip graft. I am still in the healing process--it's just been about 4 months now and I still have swelling and can't really say what my final result is yet, but overall I am pleased so far. Again, you might want to read my post and also one by @smokococo--her story is what originally inspired me to go see Dr. Paik. I loved their clinic and it's true that they don't need to advertise. I am really happy I went through with my surgeries! I’ve wanted rhinoplasty since I was 5 and breast augmentation since I was in my teens. I’m glad I did the right amount of research, had TPF threads to read up on night after night, and caring TPF friends to chat with (e.g., K Couture, and others whom I cannot name). I am thankful for a wonderful and loving partner who diligently took care of me throughout the difficult recovery period even though he underwent surgery himself. I am blessed to have two caring, meticulous and master surgeons perform my surgeries.

I am now patiently waiting for my body to recover from the trauma I put it through, and can’t wait to see the final results. I hope that my detailed review will be helpful to TPF, as others’ reviews were for me. Thank you to all the brave souls on TPF who undergo and post about their surgical experiences for the greater community. I hope my journey inspires more individuals to share their current and future surgical experiences so we can all benefit in the end. i think its hard to see the balance and ratio of how much my nose change since i cut my nose out only
but i am very happy with my result bcus it really give me confidence when i take photo in any angle. before when i take photo in one angle its arrow, and the other angle my nostril is sooo flared. overall it was soo manly!! but now everyone tells me how much prettier look after i changed my nose. i never heard that kind of compliment before :'(((((( but these days i hear the word "prettier" more often and already two of my friend went to go do surgery at gng too afterme!!
hahah really i am so thankful and really happy. i hope everyone can have a good result !!
