  1. Did you contact airBnb and see what they could do?

  2. I am in the same boat! I just don't know what to believe. All I know is that in my experience, April 31's results, to me at least, don't look so great. Considering that it's on the higher end in terms of pricing, for the results they produce they seem overrated and overpriced.

Since you're getting multiple procedures, it may be tempting to combine it all under one clinic since you have a higher chance of scoring a discount for multiple services, but I highly recommend for you to seek out clinics specializing specifically in each area of plastic surgery you want in order to lower the risk of any errors or dissatisfied outcomes.

  3. Yeah.. if you did that then you definitely won't get all of your money refunded back. The only way that I could think of in which you can get 100% of it back is if you contact AirBnb and show them this thread and let them know you aren't comfortable staying with him or something. Because honestly you can just use a government approved medical translator and they can help you out instead of using Tony's services.

  4. Did you pay your entire Airbnb fee through the website or did he ask for you to pay the rest in cash?

  5. I'm not sure..but I think if you do that he'll still find a way to contact your clinics and say he referred you so he gets his kickbacks and you end up getting a higher quote as a result.

  6. Okay LMAO I know this is totally off base from plastic surgery but I found this article a couple weeks ago and I just thought maybe some of you may find it useful? There's this website ohmyoppa.com where you can rent an oppa for the day and he'll show you around! So whether you prefer to go shopping or tour historical sites or explore famous local eateries, I think this would be something useful for those who want some company if they're alone in korea. I mean, for me personally I would definitely consider this because not only would I have someone to eat with but he'll be able to translate a lot of things for me too!

Has anyone tried this or is now considering the service?

  7. I emailed his office about two weeks ago looking for an online consult but I think they're so busy they haven't been able to respond  But definitely try! I think he's one of the go-to surgeons for a lot of instagrammers and celebs too. If you do let me know how the consultation goes as well as what price he quoted you!

  8. Unfortunately there's not many surgeons who are talented to shape the asian nose... Nose reshaping is already a hard thing to do as it is but dealing with eastern asian bone structure is proven to be difficult aesthetically and anatomically. At first I considered Dr. Yoo in Beverly hills, Dr. Eugene Kim in California (I think Irvine?), Dr. Peter Lee at Wave, and Dr. David Lee in Beverly Hills but the more I looked at their work it's just slightly off, leaning towards the caucasian side. However I DO like Dr. Kassir's work in New York. He has a huge variety of patients with different ethnicities and I really like his asian work. But because he's based in new york and he's so popular I think his price is going to be outrageous.

  9. Charlotte, the fact that he even offered to have you pay OFF-SITE (UNDER THE TABLE) is already violating AirBnb's rules. It doesn't matter if you didn't understand AirBnb's policies, the fact that an AirBnb host offered that to you is all the more reason for you to send that conversation as proof of him being unethical since he's trying to cheat AirBnb out of their commission. I understand you already canceled him but I think you can actually get 100% of your refund if you contact the company and give them your conversation as proof. Also, you would do everyone and those oblivious to Tony's motives if you did contact AirBnb about this because they most likely will penalize him. Whether it is to revoke his privilege to be a host or put him on a suspension, you'll be incredibly helpful by having other people avoid falling for his schemes.

  10. I forgot to mention. If you have concrete proof that Tony wanted you to pay the rest of the fees in cash when you arrived, you can actually send screenshots of that conversation to AirBnb and they will most likely refund you the deposit/fee for the 3 nights stay at his property. There's nothing like the threat of exposing a host's intention to cheat Airbnb out of their commission.

  11. If you did cancel, I would check the refund policy Tony has for his Airbnbs. Additionally, would you have another place to stay instead? Also, I would check with AirBnb about paying cash upon your arrival because I believe it may be against their policies for a host to do that since the'll evade the percentage taken out of their profit since that goes towards AirBnb for allowing them to host in the first place.

EDIT: I actually just checked. It is against AirBnb's policy for a host to receive payments outside of AirBnb's website because they won't be able to handle any issues related to off-site or cash payments since they're not liable for that. Since Tony is already requesting for you to make cash payments outside of the site, that already goes to show that he's being unethical because he's willing to use a third party site (AirBnb) to allow him to host his properties but he's not willing give the company the appropriate commission for doing so. If you did end up canceling, I would just lie and say you had an emergency and had to opt out of your trip to South Korea. However if you did end up staying at his place, when you go to write your review on his AirBnb site, I would leave no stone unturned and let his potential customers know that he's having you make off site payments to stay at his property. Tsk Tsk tony...

  12. Hi illray, I would suggest you read the thread by smokococo about her experience with Breast Augmentation and Primary Rhinoplasty. She goes into detail about this break augmentation specialist Dr. Park Jinseok. I actually wanted to go to him, but the prices were too similar to the states so I'm going to get it done here. But judging from my convo with him on Kakao he's a humble doctor.

  13. PM me your kakao ID and I'll add you.

  14. That's actually not a bad idea!

  15. I agree with you 100%. I also get really annoyed when people ask questions along the lines of, "What's the best _____?" It's like flavors of ice cream. There's no correct answer, it just depends on your preference but they seem to not understand that. But more importantly, most of the time they're just asking that to bypass all the inconveniences that comes with thoroughly researching clinics just so they can find and book with a clinic immediately.

  16. I never thought a thread to warn others about hidden promoters would have been needed.... but I've noticed these past couple of a days an influx of new members on PF whose comments/threads have seemed too optimistic and fishy, and I just wanted to warn those who are fairly new.

For those of you who are still in the beginning of your PS research journey, I implore you to take PF threads and any chat groups with a grain of salt, including my thread. Always read, but research and verify. There are plenty of clinic / third party medical tourism agency promoters lurking within PF / chat groups, so please be vigilant and don't fall for these fake reviews. Members on here have been researching for months, and even years before jumping the gun to commit to a clinic for their procedures.

Please don't hesitate to ask as many questions as you need within this forum. Even though there are promoters lurking, there are plenty of actual members who are on the same journey willing to share their own research findings with you! Just remember to be cautious and don't believe in everything you read or see. If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

  17. Most likely you won't be able to score local pricing. At best you can try to negotiate for a discount, but going to the big name clinics results in you never getting a local price no matter what, despite the discount.

  18. Using medical tourism agencies like DFK have been notorious for claiming "free" services yet the quoted prices for a client will be much higher because it will include kickbacks for the agency. Don't mistake an online estimate for the actual cost of PS when you come in for your in-person consultation. As a foreigner going to a big name clinic, you're already getting quoted higher than a local client would. Add in the fact that you got to the clinic by the recommendation of a third party agency, most likely your quote is going to be higher than what was estimated during your email/Kakao online consult.

  19. I'm still confused by this.. From what I'm getting she's just asking for you to be patient. Perhaps she did tell you she would get you the online consult by tomorrow (there's no proof of that so I said "perhaps"), but maybe something happened and he got busy. I would have just waited a week.

I'll admit maybe she's not fluent in English but it was kind of hard to understand, but either way her way of responding came off unprofessional so I'll give you that.

  20. Definitely ptosis to show more of your pupil.
DES only if you want it. I think ptosis would be find already to keep the more masculine look on you, but if you're insistent on getting a double lid then make sure the doctor keeps the crease small and natural looking to suit a male face.

I'd recommend epi if you're going to get DES as well, only because your eyes are slightly far apart and the inner corners could be defined and would definitely help keep the structure of the double lid.
