  1. Agreed. It's not like we automatically avoid a clinic if we know the reviewer is a promoter. Most of us just want honesty, even people promoting stuff on blogs will disclose if it's sponsored

  2. Btw if who you mean is dr jin, he's still at idea.

  3. First I click the clinic's chinese website to see the clinic's chinese name, copy text from image (as usually the chinese name is in the clinic logo image), copy paste it on the search feature on soyoung, and then google translate it. The MTL is usually clear enough.
But honestly the review text is not that important imho. Many speak about how they now feel so hot etc and not detailed explanation of the procedures. I only look at pics most of the time

  4. I've read a thread about them on PF here saying it's located above Cooki and it seems they're really good for rhino. Someone mentioned many people did fc at cooki and then their nose at dodream.

Btw they have English website now, http://dodreamplasticsurgery.com/en/home/

  5. Nope. IDEA's quotes are outrageous and the main fc specialist left some time ago. I've got no idea how skilled the current one is. I also feel JK and Gyalumhan are too overpriced, especially since Gyalumhan has botched jobs on Chinese patient.

I'm still consulting with other clinics though. Will post more quotes once I got it. How about you?

  7. May I ask which clinics they are? I've only heard about Dr Paik at 101 PS that do 1 surgery per day and yet booked solid, but none other sadly

  8. Thanks for warning us! Yeah I also found it sudpicious that someone would want to post detailed diaries, with regular updates up until years, yet claimed to receive no compensation

  9. Hi watermelonyyy, may I ask if there are English translators available at Uvom ?

  10. I also don't know yet what a periosteum lift is, I tried to google it after K Couture mentioned it on the above post, but unfortunately I can't find anything on google

  11. hi K Couture, do you know if many Korean facial contouring specialists provide periosteum lift that you have mentioned? I read that you got periosteum lift done together with zygoma reduction with dr Kim at dream , do you think other Korean surgeons would suggest it too?I tried googling it and nothing came up

  12. I agree that closed rhino CAN be done on everybody. but that does not mean that it is the BEST method for everybody. closed rhino is less invasive and has less risk of scarring. but for some noses that requires a lot of bulbous tissue to be excised, closed rhino might not be the best method.

one main drawback of open rhino is possibility of internal scarring, and shortening of collumela. therefore, closed method is preferred unless one's nose is unsuitable for it.

  13. Hi Madambutterfly89,

I'm terribly sorry to hear your experience. I think quite a few members here have posted about experience correcting sagging caused by previous unsuccessful surgeries through facelift, e.g. K Couture, Shermainetsj. K did it with a surgeon at Dream and Shermaine with a doctor from idea clinic. maybe you can contact them to ask about their surgeons, methodology and recommendation.

it seems that many surgeons refuse to do ''real'' facelift (smas lift and the like) if the patient is quite young, and they tend to recommend other not so invasive lifting procedures like mini-facelift, thread lift etc. however, none of these mini lifting procedures are effective for long term results. usually the results last only for a while, so I caution you against it if a surgeon recommended it to you.

you might also want to check out Area88 PS clinic. I stumbled upon this clinic during my research, this clinic only performs rejuvenation procedures and one of the doc is president of Korean academic association of rejuvenation. the docs have been invited for lectures to surgery conferences (aps-iae.com) so I deduced he must be quite respected among his peers.

  14. thanks for clarifying K!

  15. hi! I will be going to Seoul in October 2018 too for surgeries

  16. same here, I am also very concerned of being mislead by sponsored reviews during research. here are some things I have noticed so far about sponsored reviews;

no one will ever take initiative to post pictures on PF when nobody has asked them beforehand. even if someone asked for pics, people will usually decline to post the pics on an open thread, they would prefer to send it via PM. so if out of the blue somebody posted a review complete with pics, that is a sign.
besides that, sponsored reviews usually use overly positive language. their experience is absolutely perfect, the doctors, staff, facilities, after care, results etc is a perfect 10. I mean, realistically speaking perfect clinics don't exist.
no offense but usually promoters seem to be not so good in English? I observed that they use very basic vocabulary and tend to not discuss surgical methodology. they would rather speak about the emotional part of surgery.
other than that, some promoters try to suggest a clinic on unrelated threads (threads that are not about that clinic).

actually sponsored reviews are not necessarily fake. but naturally they will omit anything unsatisfactory about the doctor and clinic, therefore they are not a reliable source for research.

having said that, I might not know any other hints of a promoter myself. if someone here has additional advice, please do share your wisdom!

  17. Ohh the flat prices are surprisingly pretty reasonable... may I ask if you automatically got quoted the discounted price when selecting multiple procedures at once, or did you have to take initiative to bargain for it?
