  1. pretty sure im northern chinese but haven't done any dna tests to confirm. thanks a lot though, your experience and knowledge is very impressive. my face is just wide, my jaw is already narrower than my zygomas so i guess the procedure won't be what i want it to be. the width of my zygomas dont bother me than much - very close to leonardo dicaprio proportions of eye width to facial width. occasionally i put small amounts of eyeliner on and im very happy with my facial width after that, so im going to see if a lateral cantho could maybe replicate that a little.

im going to ask the korean lip surgeons if they have experience doing lateral commissuroplasties to hopefully reduce some of the "empty space" around my jaw - i know eppley offers this but he's pretty much at the forefront of plastic surgery innovation and i havent heard of anyone else.

i swell a lot longer post surgery than most people, so i guess that's why botox wasnt great for me.

  2. What about an asian who actually has the "facial depth" you are talking about? I notice some asians have forwardly grown jaws where the lower third is far ahead of the forehead in profile view. I had a lateral cephalogram done which confirmed my "facial depth" is above average. In good lighting my jaw looks narrower because of the depth reasons you mentioned that tend to appear more in caucasians.

And should it not be possible to shave the jaw in such a way that the jaw bone itself doesn't become more blunt and manages to retain its original shapes and angles, and only become smaller?

I am almost certainly going to narrow my chin a little because i want a pointer chin and I think I'll get some of the facial narrowing I want from that. Ideally I would also do some sort of conservative vline but i'll pass if i have my doubts after the consultations. My jaw doesn't always look huge, it's mostly in photos where it looks huge sometimes and it tends to look fine in videos and i'm told its fine in person

Essentially I'd like my jaw to look more like when I tilt my head down versus when i'm looking straight forward - it sounds reasonable to me but I guess you had the same expectations going into yours.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I also had jaw botox done before but I remember the result being narrow but also more blunt. I will get it again and see if the result is better at low bodyfat before I commit to surgery.

  3. I’m a male whose looks are above average. I’ve asked people for ratings and am considered good looking but I deal with BDD so I don’t really have a accurate perception tbh.

Ive had ptosis correction and chin surgery...my chin wasn’t recessed but I wanted a stronger chin. I was conservative with the chin movement and might revise it later. Happy with the ptosis correction but it was done non-incisional because I didn’t want the eyelid scars. It would have been better with incisional correction.

I am considering doing the incisional revision alongside my rhinoplasty in the future.

Your nose bridge doesn’t look high to be honest. It’s not low though. It also looks flat in profile. Some chin augmentation would be beneficial too, but you look like you have bimaxillary protrusion like a lot of asians so you might have to factor that into your chin augmentation.

  4. If the soft tissues are elastic enough its not a problem, but you increase the risk the more bone and fat is removed.

You are doing pretty much maximum removal of fat and bone lol, so it certainly does sound like you have an increased chance of sagging. But I'm not very knowledgeable on this and its better to trust your surgeon.

Ask him if you only do the bone shaving if the sagging would be less likely. Dr. Lee is an ethical surgeon

  5. It's normal for them to fit you in shortly after the consultation. Make sure your consultation goes well though, don't be afraid to cancel it if you feel your doctor was not attentive to your case, or at least delay and do a follow up consult

I prefer to have 2 consultations always but thats just me since I usually have a lot of follow up questions that I need time to think about after the initial consultation

  6. If you want .75 of an inch shaved off then lip fillers wont do much. They will reduce the size of the chin slightly, like maybe 2-3mm since your lips cant get that large. What you want is like 18mm of reduction.

Highly recommend the reduction genio for you, you'll look a lot better. The ideal philtrum-chin ratio is about 1:2 in females, with a proportional lower third of 0.8-1 compared to the other thirds of the face. These are just ratios though, better to photoshop your face and see what is appealing to your eyes

  7. do not rush your decision with a doctor you arent comfortable about.

how was your consultation with him? That's what matters the most.

I'd be wary of a young and new doctor myself, but everyone starts somewhere. Did you bring this issue up with Dream and what did they say?

Ask how many revisional rhinoplasties he's performed. Bring up your concerns about him, they are legitimate and he shouldn't be offended. Get him and the translator to explain the plan for your revision.

  8. There's certainly more risks to going under the lower eyelid. The more you open it up the more you can get lower lid retraction, so your concerns are correct. One doctor I talked to regarding infraorbital implants told me he always performs a canthopexy when he does them to make sure retraction doesnt occur.

I'm told the risk is less if you are young.

your doctor is suggesting this technique to you because you have a better chance of having a good result since he has better access going under the eyelid. The benefits outweight the risks. Get a second opinion and third opinion if needed but if you ask around enough someone will say they can do it through the mouth and the result may or may not be better

  9. Really hurts to hear stuff like this

You can reconstruct your mandible with implants. there’s a clinic in Korea that only does reconstruction after botched bone shaving surgeries ran by Dr. Baek. You can also visit American surgeons for custom implants too since you don’t want to deal with Koreans anymore, but I think he has the most experience with reconstruction since most bone shaving cases are done in Asia

  10. Western aesthetics like big jaws, strong cheekbones...Korean doctors are experienced in jaw and cheekbone reduction. And you are not Asian, i don’t see the point of you going to Korea, especially when you have no idea what you want. how can you expect anyone to help you without pictures

I couldn’t imagine a bigger surgical mistake than a young 20s white male going to Korea for aesthetic surgery when he has no idea what he wants. Careful brother

  11. hi guys. I'm going for consultations next week for a rhinoplasty, one thing i disliked about a lot of the female noses I've seen is that the alars taper off very quickly into a narrow bridge, kind of like a inverted T shape. I really don't want this for my nose. I've even seen a lot of male rhinoplasties that look this. Looks like the dorsum is augmented but the area surrounding the dorsum still lacks projection so the nose looks really skinny from the front.

The nose I would like is similar to the second picture, more of a triangle shape. from profile my nose actually looks very similar to lachowski's. And a similar shape but not a lot of projection when viewed from the front. So I think what I'm asking for is very significant augmentation not to just the dorsum but also somewhat to the nasal bones on the side?

Wondering if anyone has experience with this. Plan to see Dr Jin and Hanabi, probably some more too

  12. If it’s actually prolapsing fat that is causing eye bags, then fat repositioning is good. But too often it’s a result of not enough bone and soft tissue in the under eye area, which creates an unfavourable shadow when light shines on the face. fillers or fat will help with this but fillers are temporary and fat is not predictable. Best option would be custom implants for the orbital

  13. Going for male rhinoplasty in Korea, currently booked to see Dr.Park at Dream, Dr Seo at MVP, Opera, and maybe Dr Lee at VIP. Probably going to add a few more clinics, any recommendations? Don't really see a lot of male rhinoplasty reviews since it's mostly females that do PS, but I assume these doctors should also have good knowledge and experience with male noses.

  14. Anyone have experience augmenting the zygomas? I have high cheekbones but not much projection so I'm looking for more projection on the arch and front. It's more common with Western docs so I plan to consult eventually with a few european docs about a zygoma sandwhich osteotomy. Also heard Eppley does implants but he has bad cases. I'll be in Korea in August and figured I should ask around, definitely the place to go for zygoma shaving but I don't really like that look as a male.

Dr.Lee from thefacedental told me he has experience adding volume to the zygomas, didn't show any B/A though but I will consult in person about it. IDEA also seems promising

  15. opera quoted me ridiculously cheap prices. i’m a guy don’t know if that makes a difference

Double Eyelid with Incision : usd 1.200
Double Eyelid without Incision : usd 700
    + Ptosis Correction : usd 700
    + Medial Epicanthoplasty : usd 500

    2. Under Eyes (transconjunctival )
    - usd 1.200

    3. Basic Rhinopplasty(silicone nose bridge)
    USD 1.800
    + Hump Removal : usd 440
    + Nose tip plasty : usd 440

very tempting since I would have a lot left to do facial contouring, but i think i’ll do either eye/nose or fc and the other one in the future. will keep shopping around since i don’t know the surgeons at opera at all. i’m currently most interested in dream for dr jeung rhinoplasty, and eye stuff from dr yoo
