  1. Tbh I won't be 100% sure until after my face-to-face consultations what exactly needs to be done, and clinics told me fat repositioning or laser would be options. I have bags, hollowness, and dark pigmentation

  2. Hey! Sorry I wasn't specific-- I meant Juvederm XC is not recommended for tear trough, not ALL fillers. I would only say this as fact bc it was confirmed by my plastic surgeon and others who work with tear trough regularly! Hope that makes sense, wasn't trying to mislead anyone. I'm glad you had a good experience with restylane ^^

But I do think it's important for me to warn ppl should not take tear trough fillers lightly just bc HA fillers r temporary. I also thought it was low risk and easy to fix but tear trough isn't like other parts of your face. There r mixed opinions among plastic surgeons. Many other surgeons inject fillers there regularly. Many are very, very against fillers in the tear trough bc there is high potential for injury and mess ups (or they just don't think it looks good). I went to an unqualified doctor, but if even board certified surgeons feel this way then that risk should be taken seriously. My ps also told me it could have lasted much longer than a year bc TOO MUCH product was injected and tear trough absorbs filler slowly. I'm very lucky no serious injury happened and that my new ps was skilled enough to find and dissolve all the filler, or else I would have been left with them for a long time :/

  4. Hi guys!

I will be flying to Seoul for DES and under eye fat repositioning in about 2 weeks time. I wanted to ask if anyone had recs or experiences for under eye bag surgery because I've had a hard time finding doctors specialized in this! I'll probably be getting botox for my forehead and jaw and skin treatments as well

    1. I actually already have double eyelid, but I have multiple folds that make me look tired/sleepy that I want corrected. 1 clinic recommended epicanthoplasty to increase my sclera exposure, but I'm not sure if that is necessary. I am very against a dolly/feminine result. MVP said that incisional may be the best option for me because in my case I have excessive skin. Docfinderkorea (i'm not planning on using them, just contacted out of curiosity) said that epi/lateral/vertical canthoplasty would be an option but that seems excessive

    2. I have severe dark circles that I've tried to fix using Juvederm fillers in my tear troughs (baaaaad idea DON'T do it). I've been told that I need an in-person consult to determine if I need fat repositioning/removal or laser treatment (which will take several sessions that I might not have time for :l) or both

So far I've consulted NAMU and MVP online, and I'm still looking for more clinics! The information I find online and on PF is quite overwhelming  so I'm still searching. I'm not sure if it's also necessary to look up medical articles written by the surgeons themselves too.

I also plan to get rhinoplasty + facial contouring (mostly zygoma reduction), but I decided against too many surgeries at once for the sake of my mental health. If this goes well, I'll probably be back in Korea in the winter!

PF has been really helpful with my surgery plans so far so I plan to post in-person consultation experiences, before surgery experience, and after (most likely with pictures if all goes well) in a separate thread after everything is done
