  1. vg does cheek implants in seoul

  2. I am still awaiting the final results of my surgeries as I am only one week out but I want to post a huge thank you and shout to Seoul Medical Group.

I am typically scared of translators because a lot of the crap directed their way on sites like these but I met an exception as far as Seoul Medical Guide is concerned:

I didn't even use them as a translator/guide, ergo they had zero financial incentive to help me, but my friend was using them at the same clinic that I was at. 1) She got a way better deal through them than I did on my own and way better add-ons (filler thrown in, prp, perks plus face acculift, lower bleph, rib revision rhino, thread lifting, free botox etc for 18m won plus hotel and transportation). And 2) They really took care of her, accompanying her to every appointment at View, providing extra translation and help to ensure she got exactly the results she wanted. On her nights in the clinic post surgery, they stayed with her all night to make sure she was never alone.

Why am I reviewing HER experience? Because it became mine too, in some ways. I met them through her and while they had no financial incentive to help me, they absolutely did. I will be the first to say that View is a great clinic but that first night in the clinic, I was vomiting, nauseous, and feverish. In the middle of the night with no translator nearby and a lovely nurse who spoke little English but held my hair back as I hurled into a can, I kept saying I had a fever but I didn't know the Korean word and she kept patting my head and telling me not to worry. Finally, at 7 am, after I yelped the word "thermometer", we used a translate app to get the point across. After my temp was measured, her eyes got huge and she measured it four more times to double check. Then, I finally received fever medication after like 6 hours of shaking and sweating

I texted my friend and Seoul Medical Group ended up hearing about my miserable I was. They offered to show up and check in on me but what I also didn't realize was that they started communicating with the medical team on my behalf, swapping out one antibiotic for another, and adding anti-emetics to prevent the vomiting. Slowly, I began to feel better, stopped vomiting, and finally fell asleep before getting discharged. They showed up to my floor, accompanied me to my discharge appointment where I was checked over, bandaged, and cleaned (translating the whole way to keep me updated and explaining things again). By this time, one eye was a violent purple/pink and swollen to a slit. They walked me to the pharmacy, and then held my backpack and hand to keep me going as I struggled to the hotel and then tucked me in my bed.

The next few days, while my face was swelling in every direction and I was repeatedly panicking, they did the following: communicated my concerns to the clinic on my behalf in Korean (with the hospital translators, you get kind of a laugh and an assurance that everything is fine but you never feel sure that your concerns are truly understood, received, and addressed), personally checked on my swelling by visiting my room again, and provided daily advice to my picture updates.

Lastly, they accompanied me on my final appointment to View to make sure I understood everything, felt comfortable, and arranged the transportation back to the airport with View so that I did not have to worry about really anything. So

Being alone in a foreign country where I cannot speak the language, and am a first time surgery patient, this has been so nerve wracking but for the help of the kind owner and staff of SMG. So they not only gave my friend a great deal, they acted like kind humane people to another person in need.

So thanks guys. And I cannot recommend them enough. I will be looking them up on my next trip here.

  3. It's korean law to give back 100% if it's 3 days or more before surgery. Any closer than that, it's on you and there is a sliding scale based on how many days out are.

  4. Oooooh. I am in the Bay now. Want to grab coffee? I am going to Korea in a month. @bootyfulgirl sounds like you are going to travel at the same time that I am, and are also in the area - we should make this a party of three.

  5. How are you doing now?

Have you looked at Dr. Mendelson in Australia? I am considering him for undereye issues (no structure there for me whatsoever) but I am trying to save up first.... anyway, it sounds like he uses a "coral bone paste" that is permanent to augment bone.
Maybe the same paste could be used on you?

Alternatively, could any of these cheek implant surgeons affix an implant to your bone?

  6. I would delve into the article. There is a video under supplementary info so please also look there and watch it
and the name of the authors are listed below but I don't know whether this is merely a literature review (seems like it) or if they did the repairs. Either way, it seems like a good place to start (Google) and maybe you can look up other journals too.
    • Sang Woo Lee
    • Yeon Woo Jeong
    • Yujin Myung

  7. To h*** with those people. There should be a ban on toxic trolls.
The guy who replied on realself seems like he is worth a consult. My guess is other doctors didn't reply because their clinic managers handle the account or they don't know how to deal with it.

  8. Also, care to post (you can black out your eyes and stuff) non ct pics of your current face situation?

  9. Have you tried Dr. Mendelson in Australia? I have heard of his reputation and he uses a coral "bone" paste to augment cheekbones. It is permanent but he seems to be well regarded. Maybe he can fix yours.
Try sending your scans and stuff to his office.
Post on realself too. Someone somewhere can hopefully help!

Also, pleeeeeease post the name of your clinic and save other young people from this fate.

  10. @jphuoc
I was told that my tip/alar reduction (first-time) rhino could be done under sedation not GA by JK, a clinic that I am looking at.
Is that unsafe? Please let me know as I am flying to SK soon for consults.

  11. I am only jumping in just to say that panic doesn't usually involve fixing one's hair and that a trained doctor or nurse should be well past the point of any kind of meltdown. In other countries, medical students are subjected to enough emergencies that by the time they graduate, they are trained to react adequately.

My guess is the anger is coming from the lackadaisical manner in which the staff conducted themselves while a kid's life slipped away on the table. It is a horrifying thing to envision and the anger is augmented when one wonders, heart issue or not, if his life would have been saved had he received proper emergency treatment. Today, it was him. Tomorrow it is you, me, or anyone else here.

While I do think this case (and others like it) should engender change in the forms of better policies, procedures, and even laws requiring better emergent care, the conduct here suggests something more than "poor training" and points a bit more to negligence. So I can understand those who are calling for criminal charges.

If a clinic can't manage itself during an emergency during which a patient's life hangs in the balance, then they shouldn't be taking patients' money and offering to do surgery.

  12. That is a really interesting picture. Have you considered posting it on realself (some people get up to 5-10 doctors who respond, some of whom are honest/ethical/knowledgeable enough not to over recommend ****)? I am far from an expert but it looks like either sagging/volume displacement or indents that can be filled.
Either way, you might be able to find a mild form of laser or lifting or wee bit of fillers that can work for you because really, whatever you do, you don't need anything heavy handed or major.

  13. I feel so sad for her too. She just wanted to feel pretty or get something fixed. Not one of us goes into this calculating death/the ultimate end as a possibility nor should it be a valid possibility for something routine enough.
I thought most rhinos were sedation not general anesthesia anyhow...

  14. Thank you for posting! There are a lot of people singing the praises of MVP here and it is helpful to know the other side. This crosses them off my list. RIP poor woman.

  15. Honestly, I am soo glad you said you are okay with your face, contours, and nose. You are absolutely gorgeous and the nose gives you a je ne sais quoi that separates you from cookie cutter beauty. Hollower looking eyes could be the result of your very high cheekbones (which are just.... holy **** awesome). If there is blue/sunken hollows that bother you, you might consider like half a syringe of gentle filler under each eye (doesn't look like you even need that) or maybe some makeup.
Honestly, though, you don't look old or older at all. Not to me. At the risk of sounding like an auntie, you look like a fresh faced young girl.

I saw you mentioned lipo. Zeltiq cool sculpting is way less invasive and is supposedly used for decent results.

Last, who the hell are these strangers and trolls that have called you ugly?
If it makes you feel any better, there are entire subreddits for "rating people's looks" and I have seen perfectly good looking people get jeers and ratings like 2/10 when all someone really needed was a better haircut and flattering lighting. Trolls are everywhere. People get jealous and few things inspire as much jealousy/frustration as a beautiful young girl.

  16. Def saw two, as you put it, "black girl" posts.
One had an unhappy experience at ... TLPS or the View
and the other had posted "black girl approved" and mentioned good results.
Celia and Sonia Leslie (two young women who are close to your phenotype also posted SK plastic reviews for their noses/surgery). And JK has a young black lady on the front page of their website (she looks great).

  17. Wow, I think you are gorgeous. Your bone structure makes you look like an actual model. Models tend to look a bit older when they are younger but in the end, the structure helps them age better too. I would be wary of getting your cheeks shaved down as your face will sag more for sure.
That being said, the undereye circles could be genetic or due to volume loss after the weight loss. Maybe fillers or fat transfer there and in the undereyes? Maybe a rhinoplasty too if you can find someone who can do something that doesn't ruin the uniqueness of you and your nose while fixing the parts you dislike. (I bring up the nose carefully because.... your nose reminds me of Jennifer Grey's whose nose job removed her uniqueness and therefore ended her career. If you are going to do the nose, look hard at simulation images and really research what you want or don't want).
Your jaw looks fine and if anything, your jaw line will look better once you lower your body fat. You aren't fat weight wise but the pictures might suggest higher body fat. Your weight can stay the same but putting on more muscle, while lessening fat might be better for jawline sculpting purposes. Once you get to a sustainable state (no yoyo weighting), you can then consider fat transfer for the unfortunate parts like the undereye and nasolabial folds.

Exercise and toning might help you look brighter. Sounds dumb but I look less dead when I am working out because I am drinking so much water/cycling it through my body by running, and sweating. The side effects of being tighter and more toned help my face too.

Linke to Jennifer Grey before and after (or search "Jennifer Grey rhinoplasty"):

At the end of the day, I really hope you find a doctor that doesn't choose to prey on insecurities and helps you come to the best aesthetic decision possible without overselling.
