  1. Do you mind if I ask how you felt about Linda and why? I've heard a lot of great things about Claire and at the time I didn't hear much about a Linda. I'm not sure if maybe I was taking her critiques too hard as it was my first online consultation, but I didn't like her demeanor (as much as a person can give off chatting anyway, haha), and how she was imposing stuff on me, but the second I said I wanted x instead of y, she immediately changed her tone to please? I don't know if that's how it normally works with consultants but it made me raise my guard up with what she was saying..

  2. Yeah! I appreciated that at first too, but then I thought about it and they could crop out their face and focus solely on the nose, ask the patient if they were ok with them publicly using them for reference, etc. My type of work wouldn't allow me to be off for longer than 2 1/2 weeks and as much as I would like to run around getting a feel for the clinics I want, i cant. So that portfolio would ease in narrowing down what clinics I want before going . BTW I loved your results! And glad to hear you are healing well

  3. Ahh ok! I thought you had inside news about some scams they've done or something! TBH I've only have a chat-consult with NAMU and I thought they were pretty reasonable. 3.5K USD - 7.5k USD (depending on if I wanted bridge augmentation with implant, which I didn't so the consultant said it should just be about 4.5k USD for tiplasty and alar reduction), and v-line 5.5k USD, zygoma 4.5k USD. I've also seen a lot of forumers vouch that Opera had good prices too! If price is what you're worried about maybe don't dismiss them just yet if you like their results!

  4. Do you happen to remember who your consultant at NAMU was? I had gotten Linda through WhatsApp for English consulting. She was really prompt at replying but she didn't answer *all* my questions if I asked too many at once.. then again I'm really interested in the doctor and I heard Claire is pretty much the goddess of consultants? Hahaha. I hope to talk to her the next time as this time was just to get a feel for consultant conversations.

Also, did they ever get back to you on those thick skin rhinoplasty examples? I asked too but they told me they would only show in person . Do you have any knowledge you could share about thick nasal skin? I really tried looking into it myself and I didn't have much luck.. just that it takes a bit longer to see the results and it does require even more skill to work with (on top of the bulbous reduction and definition, and alar reduction :annoyed::oh:) thank you for anything and everything you've shared so far :biggrin:

  5. Definitely wondering about the same thing for Claire! I was thinking to just talk to both Claires for pre consultation too and go from there because either way, their/her suggestions will help enormously regardless if I go with the clinic or not

  6. Do you mind if I ask for your nose pictures + ideal picture? (Just trying to see more Before and After photos that is not on a clinic's website. I hope you hear from NAMU soon! I heard the rhino surgeon is really good! The consultant was nice and patient with me and gave me timely replies (I can't stay up late to talk consecutively due to the time difference so I always woke up to a lengthy detailed reply, haha

  7. As much as I'd like to know this too because I think my jaw is already small, that's a great idea getting the scan from your dentist! I just had a check-up a while ago and I was due for an updated scan and didn't realize it was the same thing! Have you asked your dentist? They can probably tell you since they look out for teeth nerves + youre not obligated to tell them why you're interested since it's about your own scan

  8. Working full-time (and having a uniform) helps to keep my spending on clothes under control.
I started setting aside a fixed amount (whatever that would allow me after food, rent, car payment etc).
I just buy necessities or "staple" items that pretty much pair with everything and I would still want to wear a year from now. Or if it's something I really want, save extra (and hopefully by the time you have enough, maybe it went on sale, so cash it in and save the rest haha)
For impulsive purchases (food on the go, that SUPER CUTE ITEM I "HAVE" to have) I try to remember if it's worth getting that right now or saving for the surgery. For food motive, I'm actively trying to meal prep and eat healthier to maximize my results for v-line so it helps to think that and not get fast-food, not that I promote starving yourself to get save money for surgery!
If you need to spend, spend smart. Coupons, during sales, (like right now leftover shampoo bundles, shower sets etc will be super discounted after Christmas-if you live by yourself/with S/O) will also help!

  9. Hello! I was wondering if anyone would like to help others by posting a before and after of their rhinoplasty, listing what operation(s) you had done, post-op time, if it met your ideal, surgeon, clinic, regrets?, any other info you would like to mention! I'd like to do this to help develop a realistic expectation on patients who are not photoshopped like most models on their clinic site. personally for me, I have a bulbous nose so I'd like to reduce and define the tip, along with alar reduction. I was also told I have thick nasal skin so that can affect the results and how the surgeon approaches the case. I'm trying to see how defined my nose could be.

Thank you for any input in advance! Whether it was positive or negative I'm sure it'll be a great help to everyone else as well!

  10. That's a great suggestion about the weighted pillow- thank you!! With travelling.. let's just say I'm fully prepared to download Google maps beforehand and use Google translate Were you able to easily navigate yourself (if you did any touring etc?) You're very brave to travel by yourself! I can't imagine getting there and having to care for yourself post-op

  11. Other than what was already suggested, it seems like you can also get opinions from consultants from different clinics. Of course consultants' knowledge and honesty will vary but it would be a good tactic asking why they suggest xyz if you have a photo of your **realistic ideal compared to yours, but also confidently have an idea formed yourself and not to be sweet talked into changing entirely if that makes sense? Like I was suggested to get bridgework done when I only asked about tiplasty and alar reduction, then they replied that my hump (very VERY minor btw, I'm surprised I haven't noticed it myself my entire life living but she was able to spot it from photos I had to take of myself for price quotes) is pretty much dismissible and is not needed for the result I wanted. Basically gathering a consensus of what needs to be done for what you hope to achieve may help in making an informed decision!

  12. Hiya! It's been a couple months and I'm just seeing this thread now. How are your results looking? I've read quite a few times that your nose will look 'exaggerated' (lack of wording right now) especially the first couple months due to swelling and it does get smaller, along with it being too high, it will droop/settle downwards a little bit due to gravity while it heals (anyone correct me if I'm wrong, that's just my grasping and logic of the ordeal)

  13. Hi guys! I recently reached out to a clinic who made me aware that I have thick nasal skin. This hasn't been brought to my attention before (in my lurking on here, reviews, reading consultation experiences etc) and after looking into it, it is definitely a thing. I read an article and it's spooked me into really reconsidering getting rhinoplasty (particularly looking to reduce and define a bulbous tip and alar reduction) or maybe my want doesn't outweigh my motivation to go through with this after all, but people with thick nasal skin are hard to have a successful rhinoplasty bc the skin can mask whatever work the surgeon has done? Any comments, thoughts, experiences (with before and afters, surgeon and clinic, if possible)?

  14. Do you mind sharing who your surgeon was and where at? How far along are you post-op for your face contouring?
