  1. Hi OP! We have a small Kakaotalk group for people in Seoul from Jan 5-20 ish, please join us! All of us are willing to meetup as korea tourist buddies for food/shopping/viewing attractions, etc. I'm also a solo traveler as most of us are. My KKT ID is positivecarry40

  2. Very likely that is the case, this is why I avoid big hospitals that advertise a lot to foreigners.

  3. Korean PS seems shady because there are thousands more clinics there compared to the US. Many of them are unlicensed and take advantage of foreigners due to the PS fame in korea. However, finding the right surgeons/clinics can give you results far better than any US doctor could give because koreans generally do more PS than in the west and they are experienced with asian PS. I think it's not logical to think that it's better to do PS in the US because it's easier to sue the doctor, saying that basically means "I'm probably gonna get botched the first time so I can sue". Suing can take a long time and lots of money, why not do it right the first time...

  4. I can attest to OP's recommendation of Shinseung. I booked a consultation with them in early Jan, and when I did the online consultation, their clinic was the only one that connected me directly to Dr. Shin. I feel like they really care about their patients and doesn't try to make you pay extra by saying you need epi etc. I am most likely going to get my DES at shinseung.

  5. She had a pretty rough experience and needed to vent somewhere. It's okay if she cannot disclose any information. Also, any clinic will have a chance of botching an operation. Clinics won't survive in business for long if they botch people up often. It's just a risk we all inherently take... you cannot expect the risk to be completely zero.

  6. Thank you for replying! I just heard that epi is more prone to scarring than incisional DES, even if putting on antiscarring cream. So you didn't encounter any visible scars from epi after putting on cream everyday?

  7. Hi MsOrange, can you tell me how your epi+ptosis+DES at MVP went? for the epi, were there any visible scarring? I am planning to do the same this January at MVP and wanted a real life opinion on the long term results. Thank you.

  8. I'm going on a Japan/SK solo trip after New years, so I'll be in Korea for some sightseeing and consultations for eyelid surgery in the first week of January and planning to stay for around 10 days total. If anyone is also solo traveling for similar reasons and wants to join me, please let me know! I haven't set anything in stone yet so planning will be easier. For my DES consultations, I'm planning to consult with Dream, MVP, IVE, and View.

Since I'm a 26 year old male Chinese Canadian, I won't be able to help with translation (but been using duolingo to learn some simple korean sentences lol). People who can speak Korean are extremely welcome to join me haha.

Let me know if you would like to set up a small group with me and we can talk details.
