Hello all!
I underwent v-line and zygoma surgery one month ago. My recovery has gone pretty well- I haven't experienced that much pain or numbness after the first week. The only problem is, I'm still so so swollen. I've been taking pictures to document my progress, and my swelling at the one month mark is pretty much the same as day 8 post-op. I've been pretty disappointed at the result, especially bc I can't even see a hint of a defined chin or jawline.

I've seen other before/after progress pictures, and my swelling seems similar to other people's week 1 post-op swelling. I understand that everyone heals differently and individual rate of recovery can't really be predicted, but I'm feeling impatient with my lack of progress lol. Part of the frustration is that my zygoma swelling has been minimal from the beginning, while my jaw/chin has most of the swelling. This makes the lower half of my face appear way wider than the upper half, which is the exact opposite of my desired outcome. I know my anxiety is illogical because its most likely the swelling, but its making me question and regret my surgery constantly

Has anyone else experienced significant swelling one month post-op? If so, when did it go down?

Hello! I'm planning to have V line very soon, so I can't help you with the answer, but have you asked your surgeon if it's normal? May I ask where you got it?

I had V line surgery with a light under chin lipo done a month ago by Dr. Yoon at View hospital and I am very pleased with the results. I travelled on my own from Europe and stayed in Seoul for two weeks. The hospital’s translator was present at all time during my consultation, price discussion/negotiations, health checks, surgery preparation, etc - and even during the surgery itself. I stayed overnight in hospital and discharged the next day before noon. I’m adding photos of the before, the next day, 3rd, 7th day and 4 weeks post surgery. The first 4 days I felt more discomfort rather than pain and had to be on a liquid/very soft diet for 2 weeks, which also helped me lose some of my weight. Before flying back I got the stiches from inside mouth taken out - and that was very quick and bareble for sure. Right now I still have some of the stifness around the chin area and my smile isn’t fully there yet but I’ve been reassured by the doctor that is no nerve damage and it’s just a matter of time to get 100% recovered. Dr. Yoon is a plastic surgeon - and an artist! I recommend him and the rest of the stuff to anyone wanting to have this procedure done. It bettered my life.

Normally for facial features (eye nose fat graft facial contouring), it is better at one clinic so the doctors can balance out the facial harmony. They usually work in a close team. I would not choose a one doctor clinic for multiple surgeries personally. But you can go for liposuction in one clinic and another surgeon specializing in the face. Also, you can bargain for a package when it comes to a few surgeries. As mentioned by @pssk029, foreigners should bargain because it is a different charge from the locals and unfortunately the Korean Law allows for it.

*So due to personal reasons I’ve decided to hold off on face contouring, and just stick to rhinoplasty and possibly an eye surgery.
- View was another clinic that caught my attention on the forums. However, the real attention grabber was their social media pages that had a lot of real before and after reviews. When I first walked into the clinic, I was quite amazed by their interior - it gave me a ‘high-end’ vibe. The front desk girls greeted me right away and not long after Yejin, my coordinator, was able to bring me upstairs for consultation. She looked quite young but was very friendly, professional and her English was fluent. It was very busy, mostly Koreans, but also saw some Chinese and Thai patients. There was definitely a different feel to the clinic compared to the other two as it was much bigger with more staff and patients. Later, I met my consultant, Stacey. She was very friendly and approachable with energetic personality. During my consultation with Dr. Lee, he explained how each rhinoplasty procedures worked (tip correction, the silicone placement and the length, difference between silicone vs gortex etc) which was very informative because there was a lot of new information I didn’t know from before. He recommended silicone over gortex implant, which I also preferred anyway. For eyes, he recommended full incision and gave me a thorough reason behind it. The before and after photos of his work he showed me was also very helpful. Even though he looked young, I could tell he knew what he was talking about. Overall, he really took his time to explain everything and I actually learned the most after consulting with View compared to the other two clinics. I thought that maybe the Dr. might rush because the clinic was so busy but it was the complete opposite.
This is what they quoted me at the end:
- Rhinoplasty (Use of subtle cartilage to make tip higher + Lateral Osteotomy + Deviation) = 4.5 million won
- If I wanted to also do a nasal bridge slim, it would be an extra 2 million won
- Eyes (full incision) = 2.5 million
He also told me that if by any chance, I’m not satisfied with my results he will give me a free revision within a certain time frame.

Overall, my impression with View was very positive. The only downside was the price because it was significantly higher than the other two clinics but I expected that already and kind of can see why after seeing them. After my visit to View, I was supposed to go for another consultation at a different clinic but I just felt like I already had my mind set so I decided to cancel my other appointment.

So, as you probably can guess, out of the three clinics I’ve decided to go with View for rhino and eyes. Even though it’s a little more expensive, I rather choose a clinic that I feel most comfortable with and somewhere I can rely on, and they really gave me that vibe. I only have one face and don’t want to risk having to get a revision by trying to save a little. They told me they can also give me a little discount if I do both surgeries at once so I guess the more procedures you get the more discount you can get as well.

Everyone’s experience is different some people will vibe more with one clinic than the other. I suggest you go with your instinct on the place you think you can really trust which I think will naturally come to you after a few consultations! So don’t rush with your decision. But also its like 1/3 luck and 1/3 the base of your face so surgery is always a risk D:

I thought that infection after goretex cases are not proven? And anyway you can choose any other implant for rhino. Which implant do you like?

Hey, I'm also looking for primary rhinoplasty! ^^ I have checked both clinics and looks like Hanabi and View have different styles. And seems like Hanabi does only noses.
What kind of nose do you want? I'm into dolly looking style with a high bridge.

I only had lower body lipo but I do not think it would be a problem or issue unless they are good at surgery (incl. anesthesia).
What about ask the doctors or PS ?
If you are going to do body lipo, face contouring, and rhinoplasty, then I think you need to do body first..
I did not find any big discomfort after lower body lipo (only feel little bit of muscle pain on my legs but I can do whatever I want to make a pose )
