Yumastem is good at stem cell ,I heard but too expensive. don't go Fresh,their pictures on website is photoshooted. I did FG there, told me: I would get stem cell FG , in the end I didn't get it ... because I did second time stem cell FG in other hospital . the result is complete different.

1) First thing I'd like to discuss are about the apparent "popular" clinics within this forum. I haven't been on this forum for TOO long, but for those of you who have, you probably noticed that this forum has "seasons" when it comes to clinics and their popularity within the forum. What I mean by this is that clinics will be repeatedly mentioned and discussed as well as reviewed out of nowhere and will become the new "hot topic" within the forum. It's like a trend. Some good examples would be April 31. They were really popular in this site but the rage has died down recently. Another one would be gng, ID, banobagi, etc. Some of the recent clinics that I am a little suspicious of being promoted are X, Cooki, View, Hanabi, and most significantly, Opera. These clinics popped out of nowhere with constant reviews being posted. I have never heard of any of these clinics except for View (saw them on babitalk) and Opera ( blacklisted in Korea). Although I am not definite, I do suspect that Plastic Surgery clinics are well aware of this site, and use this platform as a way to promote their clinic whilst being disguised as a supposed patient or client. A lot of the reviews and posts in this forum are sponsored/advertised. These clinics and their brokers use this platform to get recognized and once they receive enough recognition, they quiet down. Clinics either offer their services for free or give a discount to their patients in return for a glowing review of their clinic. Some things that you can look out for that hint at a sponsored review is when the user uses pictures that seem too high quality/ posed or pictures that have the clinic's logo, posts that are oddly too detailed and seem to be excessively praising the clinic.
2) Lots of advertisement = bad clinic???
- Here's another thing I want you guys to take into consideration. I am not saying that all advertising defines a clinic as bad but I do believe that excessive marketing isn't always particularly good. Look at it this way. Most clinics that are famous and popular within locals in Korea are not going to seem popular in this forum or other review pages. The reasoning behind this is that a clinic that already does well and has a good reputation and large following doesn't need to over promote or advertise themselves since they are already doing well on their own. However, clinics that don't do well and have to yet build a reputation will advertise like crazy. For example, in the case of ID hospital + Banobagi + GNG they advertise like crazy. Banobagi not much these days but ID & GNG if you haven't noticed are pretty popular within this forum and other social media platforms such as YouTube. Generally, these clinics that are famous within foreigners normally cater more towards foreigners and try to focus their services and attention to foreigners because they are not doing well with Korean locals / don't have a good rep. This is why I'm here trying to help all of you as much as possible because it is truly difficult to find a legit review of a clinic these days since this forum is so heavily advertised. One clinic is specific I would like to talk about is Opera. Maybe they have put their act together and improved but they are blacklisted in Korea and therefore don't have a good reputation within the Koreans. This is why I think they have moved their focus to foreigners. Foreigners don't know about blacklisted clinics and they take advantage of this to try to lure them into coming to their clinic. This is not only opera, this applies to many clinics.
3) Medical Tourism agencies
I briefly mentioned this in my original post but wanted to elaborate. I'd recommend against going with a travel agency. If you check my only thread in Purseforum called "The Ultimate Guide to Plastic Surgery in Korea" you'll see more of the reason why and more tips for your trip to Korea. Travel Agencies normally have their "go to" Plastic Surgery Clinics they recommend their clients because they have some sort of deal / contract with the Clinic itself in which they get a percentage/commission of the cost of your procedure. They don't try to recommend you to the best clinic for you instead they have a limited variety to choose from. Also, going to those big shot clinics that are partnered with the travel agencies, while the agency claims they give you a cheaper price, will only result in you paying much more for your procedure. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the extra $$. Now, everyone has their own preferences and I respect that. Some people prefer to simplify their trip by having someone do all the talking and organizing. If that is what you want then medical tourism agency works. Either ways, don't fully rely on them and do your own research too please! The best way to get the most out of your money while simultaneously spending much less is by going with an acquaintance or someone who is a little knowledgeable around Korea and such.*** ALSO: XXX NOT ALLOWED
4) Other platforms to find reviews of clinics ** IF you read Korean**
If you can read Korean I would recommend you go to plastic surgery Cafes. and pann.nate and search up the topics. If you do know Korean, try searching up on google or naver with the initials of the clinics you want to read about for real reviews. For example if I am looking for reading REAL and not promoted reviews of Dream I would put ㄷㄹ 성형외과 or for ilumi I would do ㅇㄹㅁ 성형외과. Most blog posts are from brokers or the clinic itself so try to look for like question and answer formats! I use babitalk too but I really don't recommend you go of on that. Most of those posts are written by brokers, trying to recommend their own clinics and therefore those reviews are false. Especially the ones that are "popular" or "trending" posts. Korean plastic surgery clinics can control what goes on babitalk and what doesn't therefore I'd be a little careful about that. Another one you could check out is the app Gangnam Unnie. It is all in Korean and I can tell it is heavily advertised and sponsored but if you would still like to see their before and afters you can check it out!

Since purseforum is what ultimately convinced me to consult with popular clinics that others have had good experiences with, I thought I'd make an account to share my experience and recovery with everyone and hopefully help others make a decision for themselves.

Recently, I took a trip to South Korea in Jan 2019 with my mom for DES, rhinoplasty and breast augmentation. Prior to this, I had made online consultations with clinics that had good reviews for foreigners - MVP, Banobagi and Ruby. There were others that I considered as well (Namu, Opera, View) but since I did not have much time in the country I decided to shortlist and arrange consultations with MVP and Banobagi by uploading my photos online and scheduling a date for F2F. Ruby never ended up replying to my post on their website in a timely fashion so I decided to go ahead with MVP and Banobagi and drop in to other clinics while there.

Consultations
My schedule was quite tight so in my mind I had already decided to go with Dr Seo for DES since he has had many good reviews and I wanted a more natural tapered look. Forward to the consultation date, I was booked in to see him in the morning at 10.30am and ended up waiting in the waiting area for about 30 minutes. There wasn't many people at the time but apparently the doctors were very busy in theatres. I was briefly introduced to Elizabeth who I spoke to via Kakao, and I was told to sit in one of the consultation rooms after they took my photos. I only talked to the Dr Seo (eye, nose) and Dr Lim (breast) for about 2 minutes each since they were busy with other cases in between but they told me what they recommended (non-incisional with ptosis correction for eyes, alar reduction, nose augmentation and tiplasty for nose, inframammary incision for breasts) before rushing out again. The consultant then spoke to me after the doctors left and didn't talk to me much about the procedures (granted, I didn't have many questions since its my primary surgery) but more about scheduling the surgery date and prices. Because this was my main opportunity to undergo PS, in my mind I had decided that I wanted them done anyway even if I wasn't 100% confident and my mom could clearly tell as well. I told them that I'd get back to them that night about my decision to go through with it since they didn't have many surgery slots since it was a very busy time.

When I was waiting for my consultation at MVP, I was browsing on my phone looking up more reviews on forums for different PS clinics since I was in the area anyway. I saw a couple posts about UVOM and visited their website to look at BA pictures - they looked really good but natural as well. I ended up sending them a quick message via Kakao asking if I was able to drop by that day for a F2F consultation but wasn't expecting much since it was very short notice. They said they would be available in the afternoon and gave me 2 times to choose from (1.30pm or 3pm). I was particularly interested in clinics that were popular for locals but also catered to foreigners (since my Korean isn't very good). I didn't mind if the clinic was smaller but had good results and patient care. When I walked in, it was a small but clean clinic and was greeted by the receptionist. There wasn't many people there when we arrived and we sat in the waiting area for a short time before being introduced to the translator, Choi. She was very good at English and explained what was about to happen after choosing which surgeries I was interested in. At this time, I still wanted to choose MVP but I thought it couldn't hurt to have another consultation. I was then led into one of the 3 consultation rooms and was introduced to their senior consultant. True to other reviews, I spent almost 3 hours in the consultation, the consultant was very thorough and explained what each procedure entailed and what she recommended based on the surgeries I wanted.
The doctors Dr Lee (nose, breast) and Dr Kang (eyes) were also busy with other procedures but took some time to sit with me to talk about the specifics and previous BA results from other patients and tried to understand what look I wanted (very natural but slightly enhanced). Dr Lee (also the owner) is probably one of the most relatable and knowledgeable doctors and really tries to allay any fears about your concerns. He even showed me BA photos of rhinoplasty that he did on his wife with very good results. Someone talked about gut instinct on this forum once before, I actually felt that with this clinic and I just ended up paying the deposit and scheduling the surgeries. Please PM me for details about pricing/specific questions regarding both consultations.

My Banobagi consultation was scheduled for the day after but because I had confidence in the consultant and the doctor's expertise, I decided to cancel and deposit the money for my surgery at UVOM scheduled in for 4 days time (it seems like Jan/winter is a popular time for people to undergo PS so I never had a surgery slot on the consultation date or the next day).

Surgery - day 1
Fast forward to the day of the surgery, they spoke to me again in the consultation room - I was quite nervous but they took their time to explain what was going to be done again and double checked which procedures I wanted. Then they went through the risks of surgery and we signed the consent forms after I had time to ask any questions. My surgeries would be split into 2 days: nose, eyes, fat removal (I have a lot of fat under my cheeks giving me a round appearance) on day 1 and breasts on day 2. The nurses led me into the OT and I was put under sedation for the first time. Occasionally Dr Kang would tell me to open and close my eyes
Usually rhinoplasty doesn't take too long but my surgery lasted ~4 hours since they like to take their time to precisely operate (the consultant said 1mm makes a big difference in noses). I felt ok after the surgery and took time to recover in the recovery room for 1 night. After they placed an ice mask on my eyes, I slept to try and recover for another day of surgery.

Surgery - day 2
I was greeted cheerily by Dr Lee for my breast surgery the day after and he made sure to reconfirm the details as well as talk to me about the risks about the procedure but that they'd take care to minimise these as much as possible. I actually had a complicated operation because I didn't realise I had a tendency to bleed and the procedure ended up lasting many hours (I think about 8?) but I'm glad that I was safe afterwards and he still managed to finish the procedure (they have a good safety record with no incidents since inception). I was wheeled into the recovery room this time since I was in a lot of pain and couldn't really move - the IV analgesics really helped with the pain when I was lying in bed. They gave my mom a pack of goodies to use in our airbnb - compression mask, q-tips and gauze, ice mask for deswelling. Then the doctor prescribed a list of medications and the translator helped my mom purchase them from a nearby pharmacy. If you are unsure of any instructions, the translator will help you write down the post-op details on kakao so you can always reference them. If you are a foreigner, they will also provide you with a letter to the airport should you have problems with customs/immigration.

Recovery
I'll briefly talk about my recovery - I ended up returning to my home country after 1 week and continued to recover there. It was quite uneventful except for the first few days (I ended up spending 2 nights in UVOM's recovery rooms and the 2nd night they let my mom sleep in the bed next to me to take care of me since there was no patient in the 2nd bed (she could have stayed for both but she wanted to bring some clean clothes etc. on day 1). I was in some pain especially on movement after day 2 since that was the bigger procedure but that mostly subsided after about a week. You can also schedule to visit the clinic as many times as you want post-op for their deswelling laserbeam treatment as well as reviews to remove nose packing and stitches. My stitches on my eyes and nose came out on day 7 and over my breast incision site on day 8. Overall, I am quite pleased with the results and hope that the results will be even better with time. Also, you can always contact them if you have any concerns and they respond very quickly on Kakao.

Tips - I definitely recommend washing your hair the day before because although you can ask hair salons nearby to wash your hair, it's best to avoid water splashing on your face. I heard that pumpkin juice/porridge was good for deswelling but I never really had any so I can't comment on its effect. Walking is also helpful for deswelling if you but for me it was hard since I had chest surgery the day after as well so I was in a lot of pain (pain relievers helped but I needed a lot of rest). If you are considering chest surgery, have someone to bring back heavy luggage/with you/ship your items because it will be hard to move around with a heavy suitcase especially in the airport. Lucky you! I have done FG at Fresh. Surgery is just ok. but with English consultant Evelyn have problem from beginning to the end until now 6 months finally done with her. My gut feeling( from beginning to end ) told me this Evelyn English consultant was a sneaky *****. After 6 month , everything is proved it . and my feeling is right. anyone want to go Fresh , need deeply considerate. Dr. rush no patient have maybe 3 minutes consultant with him ,English consultant is cheating sneaky grass... when have time , I need say my story out ... hopeful nobody step wrong clinic in the future.
there are so many good hospital in seoul , TaiWan, now so many hospital in China is doing plastic surgery ___not bad at all. yes, price is not cheap , but better than the USA .

A stem cell fat graft is essentially the same procedure as a regular fat graft, tweaked slightly.

The first step is exactly the same for both procedures (liposuction of donor site to produce fat used for transplant). The main difference lies in the fact that after liposuction, the fat sample used in stem cell grafts is enriched in stem cells through further processing in the laboratory (Keep in mind that stem cells are present naturally in fat, the lab processing just concentrates them). This means that the fat injected into you face in a stem cell fat graft procedure will contain more stem cells per mililitre or gram of fat then a regular fat graft.

Why is a higher concentration of stem cells important? Peer-reviewed scientific studies have shown that stem cell enriched fat grafts have enhanced survival/volume retention rates vs traditional stem cell non-enriched fat grafts. This means that more of the fat injected into you face will remain after the reabsorption and de-swelling phase. This is why clinics will quote higher percentage retention rates for stem cell vs regular fat grafts, and also why pricing is significantly higher for stem cell fat grafting.

Personally I'm still undecided as to which one I want done. Stem cell fat transplants may mean that the chance of needing a second transplant is reduced, but IMO a touch up should be anticipated for all fat grafts because reabsorption happens, which may cause asymmetry. Also, from my research the prices I've been quoted for stem cell fat graft are 2x regular fat graft.

ALL fat grafts should be considered semi-permanent because the transplanted (and natural) fat is affected by aging and weight loss. We naturally lose fat and muscle volume as we age, so if you want to maintain facial volume, you need touching up years down the road. However, definitely not as often as artificial fillers like juvederm or restylane. There is no such thing as permanent facial fillers, whether fat grafts or artificial fillers.

I think you are right , plastic surgery in seoul ,they just exaggerate the effect and try to charge more money. I agree all fat grafts considered semi-permanent. After 3 month fat grafting , I am try to lost some weight. I did see my face slight sunken, but still better than before I did fat grafting.

Sorry, but this information is very incorrect. Dermatologists CAN preform liposuction, I can name a very famous one in Melbourne who has been practicing for over 20 years and is NOT a plastic surgeon. I recently got liposution with fat graft in sYdney, with a clinic who don’t have board certified plastic surgeons BUT they have been preforming these procedures for over 10 years with no complications and predictable amazing results.

I'm Nanaoh, I told you in a previous post that I was getting my surgeries in BK during my spring break.
Let me tell you my story !

I packed and booked everything to go to Seoul for 10 days, but the very last day, I finally received an answer from Wonjin, so I just took an appointment with them as well even tough in my head I was sure that it was BK.

I'm glad I took an appointment with Wonjin, because when I had my appointment with BK they were very disrespectful, I mean I totally understand that they are busy, but it's my face I want to be sure that it will be correctly done, I don't want to have regret about it all my life. You really feel like a new piece of meat.
After this disastrous appointment I walked to Wonjin...
They were incredibly nice, they took the time to explain each surgeries that I wanted to do, and you can feel that they really care about their work and it's not only about money.
I finally decided what I wanted to do with the help of the surgeon, and the next morning I checked in, I was excited...
I had
Eyes
- a double eyelid + ptosis
- inner corner fold removal
Face
- Belody-lifting (to remove the excess fat on my cheeks)
- Zygoma reduction surgery with the T osteotomy frontal chin surgery
Body:
- fat grafting for an hip augmentation...

When I wake up, I started crying... Not because of the pain, but because I felt like I did a mistake, I was really sad but they told me sometimes it happens with the pain medication, 1. Day later I was in my hotel room by myself, every time I checked in the mirror I was sad, I was looking like an hamster and a zombie, I didn't feel any pain, but my eyes were terrible... And plus the fact that I cannot ate only drinks and flush your mouth every time didn't help.
I stayed in my hotel room with all my medication, pumpkin soup, beauty drink (ni:colla) during 3 days and I felt better.
I even started exploring the city.
Seriously, I had no pain during all this time.
But the day they removed the stitches especially those in my eyes, it was extremely uncomfortable, and I saw my new face and body without all of this bandage, and I was already cute, even with my enormous cheeks.
My eyes were beautiful, I have eyelids now ! :-P

Nowadays

It's been exactly 3 weeks and 3 days since my big makeover and I'm very pleased with the results.
I feel confident, because now I like what I see in the mirror.
I still have big cheeks but they start to become less enormous with the time, my eyes are perfect, and my butt also. They really understand what I wanted.

I'm poor now but happy... Ahaha

Oh I'm mixed Japanese, Swedish and cape verdian.
Unfortunately for me this mixed wasn't really beautiful for me, but at least I was gifted with blue eyes, but NOW (I will sound maybe arrogant) I'm a beautiful, I mean I start to be, I'm sorry it's really the first time that I'm saying that and I believe it.

Today was just fantastic ! After having such a difficult time yesterday, my condition has finally taken a turn for a better today. My headache has subsided by 99% !!! I am so glad that it is gone, after being tormented by it for 3 days straight. The past 3 days were so unbearable and I could only eat standing up, or my headache will go out of control every time i sit and there goes all my appetitide. I am so relief that it's gone.

Went for my second post op check up today. The nurse was pleased with my stretching and taught me how to up my stretching game. The bruising on my right calf has spreaded to my right thigh the day before, and made my right thigh bigger. Dr Park and the nurse assured me that this is normal, which is great to hear. We took the train back to the apartment instead of taking the cab, and it was the longest 30mins walk I have ever taken. Throughout the journey, I was worried that my headache will come back and I will revert back to the sick and nausea condition like yesterday. Thank God, apart from being worn out from the walking and soreness in my calves, there was no other pain and discomforts.

Today afternoon, i took a look at the backview of my calves for the first time post op, and I was AMAZED and excited at how much smaller my calves look from the back. ( I will insert pictures of my before and a picture I took today)

This is the first good day after the surgery. Hopefully tomorrow will be great too !

I put deposit before I went to seoul. but when I paid my surgery fee , I forgot it and consultant didn't minus it -maybe she forgot it as well. I agree fresh used my pictures for some discount , but consultant asked me more deposit for my contract and I forgot the deposit i have put before I came to seoul as well , she did mention(maybe she forgot as well) . so in the end we put double deposit and she refused to give me any back. all the deposite hold in Fresh for half years-- not small mount money.

different is you didn't want to get your surgery in there because price . I went there , I have already knock down the price and what I want to do. but same things ,when I paid, she didn't minus my deposit as well. I paid whole mount for surgery. we have other things I need contract with consultant , she asked me put more deposit in. and i completely forgot the deposit before I fly to seoul . in the end I put the double deposit.... that is the part I really don't like this english consultant. I don't know she was deliberately or just forgot it and double charged me. when I mention it , she deny it strongly ,she double charged me. I didn't say anything to her.... ( but others do hint me , I have been double charged)

I was also quoted the same for view plus the price is before discount and tax rebate. I think motive generally is expensive. And I understand that all hospitals quoted high to include agents commission as in case if you come with an agent. Once F2F, they will be able to lower down the price.

I didn't tell her. if I tell her, I am sure hospital the agent will be here to lurk someone to their hospital. and View consultant gave 15,000,000 Won for Motiva breast . that price complete out my budget way over. I have crossed out view hospital.

Ok nvm, so I asked for a quote and they quote me

2.5 mil for x1 fat removal
2 mil for fat graft with no touch ups, with touch up prolly around 2.5 mil

They say I will be able to see a subtle change. Ok fine, that’s kind of what I want.. but the price is kinda crazy especially with the fact that they screwed up my face first!

So just today, I decided to ask my Korean friend to help me get a quote before going down. Apparently, the quote was

1.5 mil for X1 fat removal
2.5 mil for X3 fat removal
1.6 for fat graft + touch up!

SO THE DIFFERENCE BTW THE LOCAL PRICE AND THE FOREIGNER PRICE IS LIKE NEARLY X2! 3 mil vs 5 mil!!!

Unbelievable

Considering the fact that they were the ones who screwed up my face in the first place, I am really pissed. The English consultant even said that it was the LOWEST they can go.. 5mil..

Hmmm

anyway, does anyone know a Korean translator(preferably lady) I can hire to help me bargain the price? I am sooo done with the English consultant there.. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

What I knew, if you speak other language except Korean, any Korean hospital consultant will rip you off ... they gave you quote always different.... this is my experience.

I'm going to share my surgical experience at View Clinic for Rhinoplasty revision n double eyelid surgery. Saw quite a number of people asking about View clinic, but not many reviewed on these 2 procedures, I tot I could share my experience since I had the procedures done with them and currently one month post ops.

Before deciding to have both surgery done at View Clinic, I also had face to face consultation with a few other clinics (GNG Dr Seong, 101PS Dr Chu and The Plus clinic Dr Jeong for rhinoplasty, MVP for eyes).

Procedures done:
Revision Rhinoplasty by Dr Lee Dong Chan - Change of existing silicone implant, osteotomy and ear cartilage for correction of deviated collumela n collapse left nostril.
Revision DES by Dr Lee Suk Hyun - Increase height n visibility of crease.

Consultation:
The consultation at View took 2 to 3hrs including the waiting time of at least an hr. Before seeing the doctors, I was asked to take X-ray n scan. Actual consultation took around 15mins with each doctor. I got to see Dr Lee Suk Hyun for my eyes revision first. After hearing from me on what I would like to achieve, Dr Lee examined my eyes n shared with me on what he can do. Most importantly he highlighted the limitations due to the structure of my eyes which I greatly appreciated as it allowed me to re-adjust my expectation to make a better decision.
Next I moved on to see Dr Lee Dong Chan for my nose. After looking at my X-ray n scan, Dr Lee explained to me the problem of my existing nose n gave his recommendation to improve it. The points which he highlighted to me coincide with what I wanted to correct as well. This ascertained that Dr Lee and me are on the same frequency. Both Dr Lee speaks minimum English and Korea at times, but there was an English translator around to help further translate some of the contents that I did not manage to catch.

After getting a quotation on the procedures, I left the clinic. I thought through the night on all the consultations I been to and finally decided to proceed my surgery with View clinic. TBH, I've heard n read many reviews on View for face contouring however not so much on the 2 procedures that I was going for. What let me decided to go with them is purely based on the feel after face to face consultation with the doctors. Their detailed explanation gave me good impression and both doctors were confident to produce something that is closest to what I want to achieve, and within my affordable price range. At the same time their available surgery schedule coincide with my time n I was able to get both surgeries done together in the same clinic.

So I make an appointment to visit the clinic next day to put deposit n confirm the surgical slot. Before I make payment, I actually requested a 2nd consultation with Dr Lee Dong Chan for more queries on the rhino revision. Dr Lee was very patient to go through what he has explained again with more details. This put me at further ease of mind to reconfirm my decision. So my surgery was set. I had blood test, ECG and all checks done on the spot 2 days prior to my surgery on Mon 12pm.

I did some my research , one time pop up Hanabi hospital. I looked websit, nothing else only nose... and I looked at their portfolio. it is pretty good ....

Oh dear! Yeah I have read a total of two horror stories that people went blind after getting fat inject around their eyes. Scary.

May I know more about skin trouble your forum friend is facing? Coz I had two really really big acnes and serious clogged pores on my upper cheeks. But is all okay now after some intensive home treatment with appropriate skin care products. my skin is kinda sensitive now, turns red easily, but it may be due to frexel treatments i did?

I am locking down two hospital --regen and fresh, I think both good, regen is more natural, fresh is more stylish fashion look....depend who can give me a good price in the end .

Hihi,

I had my procedure done at Regen, as I feel very comfortable with the Dr and consultant. Also, i kinda know two ladies who had fat graft done at Regen, one with okay result another with good result.

Both of them including me looks natural after around 3-4mth. if you ask me, it is quite a long time to recover for such a (relative) petite surgery.

I am going to book regen , and I SAW FRESH .. i agreed regen 's consultant is very good , make me very comfortable to make a appointment with them. and price is cheaper than any other BK ID ..... in the end I think I will go fresh, fresh seem like specialty for fat grafting face and breast and butt.... that is what I want to do .
