I got a breast augmentation 3 weeks ago in Seoul, Korea from JK!
Yay! I finally got it done! Finally!!

I am so happy with the results because they look NATURAL! They still seem a little bit swollen and my nipples and surrounding areas are sore and sensitive but I was told that it was normal and a full recovery would take 3 to 6 months from the surgery.

The one thing that I am really concerned about right now is how fast my scars from the incisions can fade. My boyfriend said "I will send you back to Korea if you have any scars on your body". -___-
I still have the glue on my incisions under my breasts, which was applied after the stiches were removed.They said it would fall off completely within 3 weeks. I am dying to see the actual incisions. I was told to use Cica Care, which is an over the counter gel sheet that is supposed to help the scars fade faster. I purchased it in Korea because based on my research, it requires a prescription in the U.S. I was trying to save my co-pay of $45 for doctor’s office visit : )
Please let me know if anyone knows other better ways to fade the scars!

Ok, here is my journey to a breast augmentation.
As soon as I walked in their building, the people at the front desk greeted me. One of the girls came out, seated me and took a drink order from me. They even had a café at the lobby so I could order my favorite drink, an iced latte!
After about 10 min wait at the lobby, another lady came out and took me to a private consultation room. Instead of telling me where to go and what to do, they always took me to the places. They were all polite and friendly. I figured that they were doing this because the clinic occupies the whole building and they didn’t want me to get lost? The doctor arrived a little bit late but when he walked in, he politely apologized for coming in late and said that his surgery took longer than what they expected. He was really friendly and very professional. He showed me several different post op pictures of a breast augmentation and asked what size I would like to choose. He recommended I get 275 cc high profile, which will fit my body and will give me a natural looking full C. I took his recommendation. (I weigh 105lb and 5’2’’ tall)
In addition to the consultation, they had to run some tests such as an x-ray and a blood test for them to see if I am a good candidate for the surgery.
My surgery was scheduled 2 days after the initial consultation. I was extremely nervous about the post surgery pains I would have to go through and me having trouble sleeping at night after the surgery because of the jetlag. Guess what I suffered from the most! It was hunger!
I was told not to eat 8 hours before the surgery. Because my body was on U.S time, I had no appetite during the day a day before the surgery so I ended up skipping lunch and dinner. Next morning, I got really hungry but I couldn’t eat because my surgery was scheduled at 3 PM.
When I woke up from the surgery, I felt so tight and sore AND STARVING. I was thinking to myself , “I need to eat to survive”. One of the nurses gave me a shot and made me wait for a couple of hours before I can eat. I am telling you guys, the surgery could be delayed. You NEED TO EAT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN 8 hours before the surgery!
I had to come back to the clinic 3 days after the surgery to get the bandages and the post-op bra off.
That was the first day I met my new sisters: ) They came out bigger than what I expected. They were swollen and very hard. The doctor said once the swelling subsides, the size will decrease. I had inverted nipples and the doctor told me before the surgery, the breast augmentation could correct my nipples too. Not fully but to some degree. Yes, he was right. Although they didn't pop out completely, they got pushed out and become somewhat normal looking nipples : )

I also got a laser treatment on my breasts on the same day,which is included in the total surgery price. They said the laser treatment would help reduce swelling.

On the 9th day of the surgery, my last day in Korea, I went back to the clinic one last time to get the stitches removed. The doctor took a final look to make sure they look ok. He said they turned out great and told me to take my meds for the next 3 months.

I still have several months to recover fully but my breasts look amazing. To me, porn star big boobs look too fake and don't look attractive. I am not saying that is wrong. People have different views of physical beauty. I am very satisfied with the size I chose and how they look on my body.

Hi!

Will the implants fluff overtime?

When does it seem like the final size that you have now?
I just did mine in korea too and honestly i paid so much but i think at that time i didnt want the biggest size i could get and now it is 3 weeks post op and I am sad they are getting smaller. Also will they become softer and fluffier? I know tear drop implants are firmer and i got them too as well.

I saved the money and I’m ready! If I could get away with having this done with dr Liu would be a lot more convenient for me to stay in the states. But if he doesn’t have the experience then I have no other choice. Plus I much rather have a scar behind the knee than in the inner part of my calves. Is anyone here planning on going to Korea in 2019 please let me know maybe we can do it together? I have a very flexible schedule but want to get this done asap so the sooner the better

Hi guys, I'm currently residing in Korea and have done my fair share of extensive research about cosmetic/plastic surgery clinics and procedures in Korea. Most specifically the Seoul area. I decided to create an account for the sole purpose of writing a thread for all y'all considering plastic surgery in Korea because I just could not handle seeing many of you being close to making wrong and regretful decisions for such important procedures.
Now, the only procedure that I've ever gotten is rhinoplasty last year at Dream Medical in apgujeong exit 4. I am 100% Korean and live in Korea as well as have gotten many helpful tips from surrounding people. I've only lived in Korea for about 3 months now but I've been visiting in and out for several years now. I know that my knowledge is probably not as extensive as those of who have lived their whole lives in Korea, however I figured that something is better than nothing especially coming from someone whose ethnicity and nationality is Korean.

Moving on to the topic of Plastic Surgery. There is no doubt that Korea is one of the leading countries in the world when it comes to beauty and cosmetic surgery. This explains the HUNDREDS maybe even thousands of plastic surgery clinics in Korea. This should be a red flag for ALL of you simply because of the hundreds of plastic surgery clinics out there. It is impossible to know which clinic is trustworthy and ethical (aka does not perform unethical procedures for example switching doctors, using unhygienic material, having less than mediocre surgical skills, etc) and which is not. Here I am going to list the most important and crucial tips for choosing the right clinic:
1. Do not have any procedures done at clincics outside of the Gangnam Area. Preferably outside of the apgujeong area. - Apgujeong is basically known as the district of Plastic Surgery. You go out and you'll see clinics literally EVERYWHERE. Even up to 3-5 clinics in the same building. There is a reason for this. In Korea, they say that if a clinic is in the apgujeong area, they are most likely going to be reliable and authorized/official. Meaning that they are most likely going to be licensed and legit. Now this doesn't mean that ALL of them are going to be legit and it also doesn't mean that clinics outside of the apgujeong area are all going to be crap clinics. There are some good clinics in the Gangnam area outside of apgujeong, but if it is a clinic completely outside of the Gangnam area I would not recommend. What I am basically trying to tell you, is that I would stick to clinics in the apgujeong area to be safe.
2. PLEASE do your extensive research about every clinic that you are planning to attend. -
Many clinics in Korea are blacklisted. The most famous blacklisted clinic is Grand Plastic Surgery. No Korean ever dares to go near there LOL. There is a list in the Korean community going around that has listed many of the Plastic surgery clinics that have either performed unethical surgeries or have had deaths/bad results. If you search it up on google, it should come up. Also, Korea plastic surgery clinics are very good about controlling what goes up on the web about their clinic, and what doesn't. Sometimes Koreans will post up their bad experiences with the clinics and the clinics will find a way to put it down. So if you know someone who has first hand experience with the clinic itself, then that is your best source of info!
3. Do not trust everything you read online.
One of the first things I want to point out is that in the Korean Surgery community, there is such thing called a "broker". "Brokers" are people specifically hired by the clinic to post up fake reviews online "boosting" their clinics and praising their name. However, this does tend to mostly occur in Korean community sites/cafes so for those of you who find most of your information in blogs like this or in the english language, you should be fine.
4. KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO HAVE DONE BEFORE YOU TAKE UP A CONSULTATION AND DO NOT BE FOOLED BY WHAT THE CLINICS TELL YOU:
CONSULTANTS. Don't be fooled guys. Whether they are completely rude or sweet talk you, do not be fooled by what they say. Their job is to sell you as many procedures as they can and to bring in the most income to the clinic so they get their profit. Sometimes they will recommend you procedures that you most definitely don't need and will manipulate you into thinking that they are right and that you need to fix some part of your face that you don't actually need to "fix". Therefore knowing what you want before you walk in for a consultation will not only save you from needless burdens and pain but will also save your wallet ALOT of money
5. Do try to negotiate/ bargain with the price-
Im gonna be straight up real with you guys. Foreigners get priced a higher price. Alot higher. Why? I don't know. Possibly even twice as much. However there is not much you can do but play with the price a bit. They will not bring down the price to what they quote Korean residents and natives. They'll probably deny quoting foreigners a higher price for all I know but yes it is true that foreigners get quoted a much higher price. The only other tip I can give you is to approach them in Korean language IF you are Korean and know decent korean. Otherwise, only thing you can do is bargain.
6. Do not go with medical tourisms such as SeoulTU or DocFK. It hurts my heart and head when I see people using these medical tourism guides to get a much simpler than it seems journey. Not only do they quote you a EVEN higher price for the procedure, but they're choices of clinic recommendations are very limited. Most of the times, they will have their 5-6 go to clinics that give them the highest profit for brining customers in. They will always reassure you that going with them will be give you the best price you could get and etc but not true. Save yourself thousands of dollars by not going with a medical tourism group PLEASE! For less than $5 you can take the subway to wherever your destination is (also subways are extremely easy to use). Book your own airbnb in advance for a much cheaper place to stay at, and approach the clinic yourself because most likely they will have translators! IT might seem intimidating but I assure you that it is much easier than it seems.

Clinics I want to talk about:
Before I start this off, I want to say that ALL clinics whether they be reputable and famous or not, ALL have their ups and downs meaning that not every clinic will perform perfect procedures every time. Just like doctors and surgeons, they can't be successful every time. So this is something you need to understand and risk.

Dream Medical group: This is one of the most famous plastic surgery clinics in Korea located in the apgujeong area. I had my procedure done after seeing successful results of my sister's procedures here as well. I personally had a very successful experience there for my rhinoplasty with Dr. Kim Young Joon. He's the head and I believe the only doctor who performs facial contouring. However he performs almost all kinds of procedures including, eyes, nose, lifting, etc. It is a little bit on the pricier side so if you're looking to not spending too much then I wouldn't recommend this place however it is a good and reputable clinic.

Shimmian: Oh man. Where do I start off. I've absolutely NEVER heard of this clinic before until I read english reviews?? I've seen many many reviews both good and TERRIBLE. Let me just say that I would never go to this clinic. never in my life LOL. This clinic in Korea is basically nonexistent. No Korean ever goes to this clinic simply because they don't even know about it. I don't even know if this place is still open. I've looked them uo before and their before and after pics are not impressive at all, so there goes red flag 1. I have no idea where they are located red flag #2. Reviews on this clinic, red flag #3. Enough said.

April 31: I have noticed that this clinic is very famous amongst you guys here on purseforum. I've personally never heard of this place before. It could be because it is a clinic that targets a foreign audience. However it is not famous in Korea nor do Koreans know about it. However, I did do some research and I've found people say that they have HEARD that this clinic is good at rhinoplasty but that they have never seen solid proof. They also say that this Clinic is way too expensive and that even if they were good they would never pay the price that the clinic quotes. So there you go. April 31 is just too expensive. You can find other more reputable clinics for much cheaper.

I will stop here because I do not know much more about any other clinic. I just wanted to discuss these three particular clinics because they seem to be famous and talked alot about within this forum. Whether you choose to follow my tips or not is your choice, but I wanted to just give a little heads up for those of you lost in the thousands of ps clinics in Korea. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer them! (: Also, please keep in mind that these tips do not apply to EVERY SINGLE ps clinic Korea. It is just a rough generalization.

Hi, when you say “Dream” clinic, are you talking about Dream or Dodream? I am confused about this point. And I saw some bad reviews about Dream clinic especially with the guests transactions etc. And I still have no idea which clinic they are referring to. I almost went through the transaction with dodream but it didn’t process through. I would like to find a trustworthy clinic for my operation..

I am writing this so that hopefully you guys have a smoother experience than I do and don't make the mistake of choosing Dream. I am beyond frustrated right now and hope that my experience will help those trying to decide whether they want to pursue surgery with Dream or not. Long story short, I placed a deposit two weeks ago and checked in with them at MANY different times to make sure the surgery date/time is right, and now, two days before surgery (and less than a day before my flight), I get a message saying the surgery time I asked for can't be done. THIS HAS NOT ONLY HAPPENED TO ME. There's another girl I read about on purseforum who paid the deposit, arrived for surgery at Dream, and was told they didn't have her down for that day (feel free to link that story down below but I will try to find it after I write this)... Then magically a slot appeared for her (how does a surgery slot just magically appear? Is the doctor she asked for actually the one that did her surgery? It really makes you wonder). I also personally know someone who paid the deposit for a day, didn't check in for a while, and then when she arrived, was told that surgery would have to be done the day after. Dream is extremely flaky, and I would highly recommend international travelers to stay away if they are there for only a short/moderate amount of time. I also have all messages saved on kakao for those who are interested in seeing just how extremely frustrating they are.

I contacted Dream one month before going to Korea for incisional des and was told that the price would be approximately 2.5 million krw (however, when I called, the consultant quoted a much higher price and said whoever answered me on kakao was wrong and told me to screenshot the price because she didn't believe me LOL). I will not be there for very long, so I decided on going with Dream after talking to a few more clinics via kakao, and asked to book a surgery date between March 22-25 so that I can place a deposit. The person talking to me at kakao said to contact them two weeks before I come because one month is too early to make a deposit for a surgery date. I thought this was a little bit odd but just went with it. Fast forward 1.5 weeks later (so ~2.5 weeks before the date I would want the surgery), and I contacted them via kakao again and noted that it's about 2 weeks before, so I can book the surgery right? Dream responded and said "sorry the earliest date we have is April but May is better." WTF? I contacted you a month before and you said to contact you two weeks before, and now when it's actually 2 weeks before you're all booked? At this point, I just decided to call them. When I called, a consultant named Julia picked up and said: "We do have space the end of March. We have space on March 23 if you want to come in then! Just place a deposit and we can talk more on Kakao." She also asked me who I was talking to on kakao because apparently all my messages with the previous person got deleted?? We talked a bit more on kakao and I went to sleep ready to place a deposit the next day.

The next day, I wanted to make sure I could get the 23rd date before placing a deposit, so I messaged them again to double check before wiring money, and the response I got was "oops there's actually no time between 22-25 we can only do the 27th now." Uh... Then like an hour later someone else responded "oh actually just kidding we do have 23." I called again to make sure and sent a deposit with my receipt. I also noted that I could only do after 12 pm on Friday, and the consultant said "ok we will let you know a day or two before." WTF? I paid a deposit, and gave you the time I could come, and now all of a sudden you can't give me the time of my surgery until 1-2 days before? Anyway, I decided to trust them because they said that they will make sure I come in that afternoon for surgery and checked in with them on Tuesday the 21st (3 days before my surgery) and asked "do you have the exact time for me this Friday yet?" YOU KNOW WHAT RESPONSE I GET? "I am sorry the earliest we have is April." LOL. Then a bit later, someone says "oh wait you made an appointment. As I've informed you, we'll let you know 1-2 days before." Ok. Sorry for asking 3 days before. But I'm flying in from the US... so I NEED to make sure the time is right. I then messaged them and said "I just want to confirm... for the third time... that it will have to be after 12 pm" Dream responded and said "yes we made a note that it'll be after 12 pm."

This morning I get a kakao message. "Sorry it can only be in the morning not after 12 pm." At this point, I can't deal with this anymore. I called MULTIPLE TIMES TO MAKE SURE and messaged three times to make sure my surgery time will be on the 23rd after 12 pm. I paid a deposit and started this back and forth a month before coming. Now, less than a day before I have to fly to Korea and two days before the surgery date, I all of a sudden get a message that I cannot have surgery after 12 pm, when I repeatedly checked in with them to make sure they remember that I CANT BE THERE THAT MORNING. Anyway, since obviously there's some extreme disconnect, I've asked for my deposit back. Not sure why me checking in with them in calls and kakao messages to make sure my surgery date/time was right wasn't enough (I made sure to check in many times because of the various stories on purseforum and elsewhere about Dream taking deposits and then not honoring the surgery date). Anyway, please avoid Dream. They do not honor surgery dates/times even with a deposit, and I really don't think any of their doctors are worth the effort. I really don't have much time in Korea, and all of a sudden they can't give me that surgery time so I have to look elsewhere to schedule when I'm leaving the US in less than a day. If they couldn't honor it, they should've at least said so so I can place a deposit elsewhere with a clinic that will give me the time and day I ask for. Now, I'm less than prepared and no longer have a surgery time. Out of all the clinics, Dream has been the LEAST professional and if they cannot get a surgery day correct and lie to you multiple times to your face, how do I know they won't switch doctors or do some completely unprofessional and unethical things behind the scenes? Please avoid them at all costs and save your kakao message time and phone bills.
