I’m feeling insecure as well about the 3 days only time gap. Im scare its his over confidence cause its my second surgery i really dont want to screw this up again. Plus if its like what mentioned below a deposit need to be given i’m not really keen on visiting him since he need to postpone my consultation date. I’d still keep him in my list in case if i’m not satisfy of the doctors that i am going for consultation. But of course, i’d hope to stay long after the surgery just in case i need anything i can still visit the clinic. But thanks for your comment. And thanks to all the lovely ladies here who are willing to share these information. So far, my option goes down to IVE, gangnam june and oscar. IVE would be on my priority list for revision des.

Hi all,

I had my double eyelid revision with Dr. Kang in October, it has now been about a little over three months since the procedure.

Firstly, Dr. Kang and his staff are very nice and welcoming, Dr. Kang is nice, soft spoken, and does understand some english. During your consultation he has ample pictures to show you on eyelid height, some photos on scarring and revision photos that show both eyes. It can be a little misleading that the photos on his website only show one eye and does not show them looking down to see the scar or his stitch work which is also an important factor in deciding on your revision. Most MDs will say though that the success of a revision or double eyelid surgery would be what your eyes look like when they're open.

My issue - I had a very high crease with puffy tired looking eyes. During the consultation, we discussed lowering the crease and reducing the sausage look and fold appearance. Now, 3 months post-op I will say my crease height is much lower than before, it's still a bit sausage looking, but I wasn't naturally born with double eyelids to begin with so I'm satisfied with how they look when eyes are open. I think I am still healing with the scar so it's difficult to assess what the outcome will be. Right now scarring is still present, a little bumpy in some parts, tender and sensitive to touch at times -- I could be a slow healer. His method is different than other peoples, I don't know how to explain it but the way he excises the scar and stitches doesn't create a fold line like the first double eyelid surgery. I don't know if I'm the biggest fan of this method because while it does make the scar flat, the way it looks from a mirror with your eyes looking down is a bit strange. It could be because my scar is still healing and recovering, so I'll wait to give a final assessment until 6 months to a year mark.

Overall though, Dr. Kang did lower my crease by a lot, he is capable of taking a high crease and lowering it. Symmetry and scarring is questionable but it's a still a bit too early to say. I think my double eyelids were asymmetrical to begin with and so the end result now is still a bit of assymetry, not sure. Anyways, hopefully this is helpful to all you ladies on your search.

It's hard to find a surgeon who is good at double eyelid revision in Korea especially when we do not live there and rely on forums and sites like this. Dr Kang is a popular md on this forum, however I'm sure he's not the only one in Korea who can do double eyelid revisions. It's hard to say without knowing the language and diffiult to know if they've had enough experience for your procedure, but they're out there I'm sure. Consult and ask around if possible and during the consultation, ask for pictures, the more pictures they have, the better. It will help to know exactly what kind of procedure and results you want and ask the md what their stitches looks like, whether they're going to excise any skin AND/OR fat and photos of scar healing. Shinseung also told me about the stitch taken out on day 3, im wondering the same thing. Have you made appointments with him yet? I talked to him about the possibility of going there second half of May, but he told me then i should visit him after 22th, because of the 1 week holiday prior. Im not sure what he meant by that. Did he mention anything to you about that? What about IVE? Has they got back to you yet? I just sent them on kakao but no response yet.
Have you heard of dr. Kang of IOU? According to this board and his website he does focus on revision des, especially high fold case. The review is mix i guess but im considering visiting him too. He responded within a day via email. He mentioned the stitch taken out on the 5th day.

Hi,

I’m glad someone is on the same page with me. Struggle is real sister . I heard some said if epi did not done well it will cause an ugly scar and some told me don’t risk it. I made an appointment with shinseung but he told me to postpone as well. I’m afraid that i don’t have enough post op time but i kinda dont know if i should wait... cause i arrive at 13 and he can only see me after 16 and i leave by 25. I’d hope to be able to stay longer after the surgery just in case if anything goes wrong i can still visit the doctor. IVE took quite a long time to reply me but then he did not give me recommendations because he said he need to see my eyes if there is any excess skin to do the surgery. I haven’t heard of Dr.Kang, maybe i should ask them as well see what he said. Can i have your kakao so we can chat there and update each other?

Hi,

I decided to consultation for Ive and Shinseung cause I read the recommendations these two are good at revision des from this board too. My problem is my eyelid crease is too high resulting me having sausage eye and for this revision i’d hope to lower them and maybe front epi to elongate my eyes. But i’m still thinking if I should do the epi or not. I heard Oscar is pretty good at des as well but I’m not sure for revision though. So far Oscar is the fastest in replying me through kakaotalk. However, only Shinseung told me that i could remove my stitches after 3 days while the rest of the clinics told me after 7 days when i consult them through kakaotalk . He must be very confident in his surgery to tell me im able to remove stitches after 3 days or idk what else should i think bout his reply . I’m like kinda confuse which one to go cause it’s my second time for eyelid surgery and I hope to fix it this time.

I will be going around May 13-25 for my revisional des as well. I'm going by myself and i have booked to stay around sinsadong gangnam gu area (anyone staying around here too?). I'm planning to go consultation with IVE plastic surgery, shinseung, gangnam june and oscar to see how the doctors recommend me. Anyone heard about these clinics? I'm Malaysian and I can speak chinese and english but no korean.
