  1. Ok then. This is just info I’ve found around the Internet, of course it may not be reliable. Who says anyone else’s is either? Honestly, this is just what people have told me, and I don’t know how you would be able to provide the info that your bones are fused? An X-ray? That seems a bit extreme.

  2. If you want to go alone, yes, there is a requirement to be an adult, although most clinics will not ask you for an ID and just trust you on spoken word. If you have a parent or guardian sign some papers agreeing that an underage individual can have plastic surgery, then clinics are normally fine. You are right, there is no “legal” age limit to get plastic surgery in Korea, but most clinics will refuse to do FC and BA, on anyone under 18. The only procedures that some clinics will do for Korean locals when they are underage are rhino and DES. Sometimes parent will even get plastic surgery for kids as presents or rewards! (Lucky, I want that LOL)

As @Cherry Bear said on this (https://beautyhacker.com/forums/topic/900957-age-to-get-ps-without-parental-consent-in-korea/page-2) forum, “Normally the age are dependant on the type of anesthesia given.
Double eyelids (non incision- based on local anesthesia) : 13-14 years old are possible but its more of the post surgery trauma a young person has to deal with. Incision , they might have to go about 16-17 years old.

Rhinoplasty (with sedation ) : Most clinics would recommend over 16-17 years old for that. If osteotomy, hump removals are needed then likely it may go over 18-19 years as a deeper sedation may be required.

General Anesthesia required surgeries like Breast, Lipo, Facial contouring are usually highly recommended after 19-20 years as their bodies may still be growing.”

Although, on the same sub-page, I read a gorgeous comment made by @oreocream: “Age is just a number, and so is your bank account. Guess which number the clinics are more interested in?”

In short, yes, you are correct, but it would not be smart to go to a clinic that would offer underage kids major plastic surgery for aesthetic benefits as it shows the compromised morals of the doctors.

  3. Anyone else started super early with planning? I know I have! I need some time to save up the money LOL
Does anyone want to start a Kakao group to discuss the surgeries? If so, here you go: https://open.kakao.com/o/g1eTFAtb
    It’s called 2021-2025 Plastic Surgery.

Requirements: Planning to get surgery anywhere from 2021-2025 (If a year or two earlier or later, you can still join. Just make sure to state what year or the range of years you are planning to get surgery)

I know this is far away, but I think it’s a good idea to start planning the basics WAY in advance!
This is for anyone planning a trip to South Korea, living in South Korea, saving money, or just needing someone to talk to who has a similar situation plastic surgery-wise!

  4. Oh, and remember to specifically tell them that your global age is 18, and you are 19 in Korea otherwise they won’t understand and think you are 18 in Korea which would mean you were 17 globally.

  5. First of all, your English is fine! Second of all, congratulations on deciding to get plastic surgery! That's a big step. You are very lucky that your parents support your decision to do plastic surgery (Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for mine). For age, you have to be 18 globally to get plastic surgery in Korea. Korea's age system works a bit differently, as it is counted from when a child is conceived. So, when you're 18 globally, you will be 19 in Korea. In short, yes, you will be old enough to get plastic surgery in Korea in 2021. Good luck>

  6. Do you mean off-site reviews? If so, I can't find any. Their site has a pretty good selection though. You can find some B&A pics here: https://en.nanahospital.com/myboard/sub04_02
I also found one person's review on MISOODA, here it is: https://misooda.com/review/nana-plastic-surgery/facial-contour-rhinoplasty-double-eyelid
You can also find the same review on NANA's blog, here: https://nanapsglobal.blogspot.com/2018/11/eyelid-surgery-nose-surgery-jawline.html (Part 1), https://nanapsglobal.blogspot.com/2018/11/eyelid-surgery-nose-surgery-jawline_23.html (Part 2)
You can browse through their blog to get an idea of what sort of results they give.

If you want to see more pictures on NANA's site, you have to make an account on the Korean version (https://www.nanaprs.com/) I have an account and it unlocked a lot more before and after pictures, so I would recommend just getting an account. If you don't speak Korean it's fine, you can always use google translate or any other translation software.

  7. Hello-
It’s a good idea to prepare for your F2F consultation before walking into it! Below are some things you can do to prepare.

    Consultation
    Concerns
List some concerns you would like to address with the surgeries, such as:
    - Dented forehead
    - Uneven eyelids
    - Large jaw
This will give your doctor or consultant some idea of what you want to fix.

    Photos + Ideal
The next thing that you should have prepared is some photos of how you want to look (loosely).
You could also list some instagram accounts to show your consultant or doctor for more in-depth examples.

    Questions
There are so many things that you should know before walking into that surgery room! Below is a basic list of example questions that you can ask. They are divided into categories.
    • Doctor (Questions directly for your doctor)
      • Are you certified by the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery?
      • Were you trained specifically in the field of plastic surgery?
      • How many years of plastic surgery training have you had?
      • How many of these procedures do you perform a week? A month?
      • What is the most popular surgical procedure you perform in your clinic?

    • What the procedures involve
      • Am I a good candidate for this procedure?
      • How will you perform my procedure?
      • Where will the procedure be performed?
      • How many procedures of this type have you performed?
      • How many other medical staff will assist with this procedure?
      • Do you have hospital privileges to perform this procedure? If so, at which hospitals?
      • What are the risks and complications associated with my procedure?
      • What is your complication rate for this procedure?
      • How are complications handled?
      • What type of anesthesia will be used during the procedure?
      • Do you have before-and-after photos I can look at for each procedure and what results are reasonable for me?
      • Can you provide me with references to patients on whom you have performed this procedure?
      • If I request to have multiple operations, can they be safely performed at the same time, or do I need to have them scheduled separately?

    • Cost of procedures; range of cost
      • What is the exact breakdown of fees for this procedure?
      • Are there any hidden fees?
      • Will I need to pay extra if I need to stay in-patient?

    • Accommodation
      • Will I need to stay overnight, or will this be an out-patient procedure?
      • If I will be staying overnight, may I see the in-patient recovery rooms?
      • What will be monitored, and what kinds of tests will be administered during my in-patient stay? Who will determine when it is safe for me to return home, and how? May I meet those nurses and/or doctors?
      • How long will my stay be?

    • Recovery time
      • How long of a recovery period can I expect, and what kind of help will I need during my recovery?
      • What kind of pain should I expect, and how will this be managed?
      • Are there any other medications or products (to care for my skin, or to manage potential side effects, for example), that you recommend I use during my recovery?
      • What will the scarring be like? Will it be visible? How can I help minimize this?
      • How many follow-up visits will I need?
      • What is the recovery period like? What activities can I do during that time?
      • Will I need help during recovery to care for myself?
      • When can I start:
        • Putting on makeup?
        • Exercising?
        • Taking a shower?
        • Doing my normal activities?
      • When can I return to work?
      • How long do the results typically last? Will I need “touch-up” treatments in the future?
      • What are my options if I am dissatisfied with the outcome of my surgery?

If you are planning to negotiate pricing, prepare to do the following:
    1. List example prices from other clinics.
    2. State your budget as significantly lower than it actually is.
    3. If you feel comfortable with it, offer your before and after pictures for them to use on their site, or even offer to be a model if the option is available.

A good strategy for negotiating is to let them state the first pricing, then to offer a really low price, maybe 1/2 of what they said, and then to slowly bargain it with the above strategies. You can usually get anywhere from 10-30% off with these techniques, although sometimes if they have an model opening, the surgery can be anywhere from 50-100% off.

If the price seems WAY to high, or the doctor seems sketchy, WALK AWAY. This is your body and your face and your mind. If you don’t trust the clinic, you can easily say sayonara and never look back. Choose what is best for you.

I hope this helps you with your F2F consultations! Feel free to add things, and yes, the questions are pretty basic. I would also recommend having around 6 “ideal” pics; 2 front, 2 45 degrees, and 2 profile/side.

    Have a great day!!

  8. NANA
    - Quick Implant facial contouring - Quick forehead surgery : 4.5 mil. KRW
    - Ptosis correction : 2.5 ~ 3.9 mil. KRW
    - Lower eyelid fat repositioning : +200,000 KRW (done with ptosis) / done alone : 2. mil KRW
(depending on how hard the surgery is)
    - Aquiline nose rhinoplasty : 3 mil. KRW / if you want to enhance your bridge, 3.5 mil. KRW
    - UV jaw surgery : 5 mil. KRW
    - Genioplasty- T-osteotomy : 7 mil. KRW
    - NANA-PRP fat grafting - Smile line : 2.5 mil KRW

When I emailed them, they said that they were having a big discount event, so if I combined UV jaw surgery, T-osteotomy, and NANA-PRP fat grafting - Smile line, it would only be 7mil. KRW.

    NAMU
    - Ptosis Correction - 1mil. KRW
    - Rhinoplasty (hump removal, deviated nose correction, osteotomy (wide nose correction), tip plasty, and alar base reduction) - 5.5mil. KRW
    - Front Chin Correction - 3.5mil. KRW
    - Square Jaw Reduction - 5.5mil. KRW
    - Full Face Fat Graft - 2mil. KRW

They said that they also offer 10-30% discount depending on the number of procedures you get, photos, etc. This seems super cheap, only 17.5mil. KRW (Around $15,000 total) so I’m slightly skeptical.

For NANA, I think that the results are amazing, so they are my first pick, even if they are a bit expensive. The other two clinics on my list are BONGBONG and THE. I was able to find that BONGBONG offered full-face fat grafting for around $3,500, so that gives you an idea as to how expensive the other procedures might be. Regarding THE, I haven’t been able to get in contact with them through email yet, but as soon as I do manage, I will update here.

*I prefer consultation through email because I don’t have a lot of time to sit down and chat on KAKAOTALK or WHATSAPP.

I am going to try to get another price quote through MISOODA for all the above clinics. MISOODA generally quotes pretty low prices, so I can use that to negotiate.

  9. I’ve been looking for reviews on them for a while too! Nana is on my list of clinics to check out but I haven’t been able to find many reviews off-site either. That dude though, in the pictures above....omg the results are amazing!! (Also he is so handsome, I wish I was as pretty as that lol) I would be going for FC, rhino and eyes. If you are ever able to find any reviews, please share because I have been looking long and hard and have found almost none~

  10. Hey~
Yes, that is what appealed to me about it! I have narrowed it down to BongBong and THEclinic. Both of them have natural but seemingly beautiful results. I’m in the process of getting price quotes from both the clinics right now.

  11. Thank you, I recently found a clinic that is moving to a larger building and has it’s on anesthesiologists so I will check it out!

  12. Not always! And I prefer to go to smaller clinics because they usually have one-on-one with the specific doctor who will be doing your surgery! I like to meet my doctor and see what he thinks to see if it is a good match or not before I go into surgery~
I have found a few reviews on some of them, 1 bongbong for breasts (not what I’d be going there for though) and another on SM.
Call me picky, but I don’t really like the results I’ve found with some of the bigger clinics? And idk it kind of scares me when I hear about these mistakes and mess ups on this forum and others. These that I’ve found are some of the only that are not blacklisted. I’ve heard Pitangui is also good, but then I read some bad reviews, so I think that I might try for a consult there, but probably won’t end up going! I looked at JW and they were blacklisted because of a Chinese girl’s surgery that went wrong. ID, GNG, and BANOBAGI are blacklisted because of excessive marketing, bad prices, and bad results. Safety is a HUGE factor for me, and I guess that I don’t want to walk into a factory clinic, that’s all!

  13. hello, I recently found some clinics that have board-certified doctors and good results, but I can’t seem to find any written reviews! I have searched in English and Korean on multiple sites, but still nothing comes up! If anyone has any experience with the following clinics, please feel free to share in this forum!

    Clinics:
    BongBong - http://www.bongbongclinic.com/
MORE or THE (name depends on translation) - http://theclinic.co.kr/
    Face Plus - http://en.face-plus.co.kr/
    Semin or SM - http://semin100.co.kr/

If anyone else has clinics that they cannot find any reviews on, please feel free to post them below!

  14. I am aware that price bargaining is often essential, I was just wondering if there happened to be any clinics that had a set price that was given on their website. Thank you though!

  15. Hello,
Has anyone come across a clinic with set prices for basic procedures? I know sometimes large clinics change prices for foreigners, making them much higher than if a native Korean patient came.
I am looking for a clinic that has the prices listed directly on their website, for example:
    Alar Reduction - 3,000,000 KRW
Or something along those lines. I'm sure many other people looking to go to South Korea for PS have asked this question, and there is probably not a clinic like this, but I wanted to ask just in case!
    Thank you!

  16. Thank you so much for your help, I will look over the link you left!! I will also reconsider zygoma reduction.

  17. Thank you so much~^^ I am glad you like your results so far and I look forward to seeing your review on your experiences with UVOM! Thank you so much for your insight on View and Banobagi, I am truly thankful that you told me about the bad experience you and others had at those clinics! I can’t believe how much they changed the charge at your f2f with View. I will definitely avoid them and Banobagi. I’m glad your PS went well and thank you again for your help and insight~^^

  18. Wow!!! Your results sound amazing! I’m so happy for you!! I hope you enjoy your new look and live a happy life!!
It is amazing how much PS can boost your confidence!! Thank you so much for the updates too, this is awesome.

  19. Ok but honestly, your parents must be so cool with the PS thing. You’re super lucky, my parents have no intention of EVER letting me near a PS knife LOL it would take some major convincing before I was able to get it even if I paid for it myself and was of age!!
I hope your procedures go well, I will be checking out Opera myself. I haven’t heard much about it before, but it sounds like a good clinic!
Also, (if you feel comfortable) I look forward to hearing about your results!! Good luck!!

  20. Haha welcome to the world of PS!!
If you don’t feel comfortable with getting rid of your bone you could get injections that melt the fat in that area, giving the impression of a slimmer jaw. It only lasts a few years, but you can get it redone. I’m not sure if the chin implant would look all that great or not, but you could ask your doctor. I think the issue I would have with a chin implant is that it will move out of place if you don’t attach it to the bone, so it would still require some drilling of the bone (I think).
Anyways, I would go for something less permanent before you decide what procedure(s) you will get. Since you are traveling there in only a month, I would not get super permanent or possibly detrimental procedures. Maybe just stick with your eyes surgery and some fat-melting injections around your jaw. I think you can also get fillers and fat melters around your chin to make it look longer, but sometimes that looks funny. I guess you have to decide what will be best for you!
Good luck!! Please update when you come back on your experience, I would love to hear about it!!

  21. I think that it depends on the clinic. I doubt most PS clinics would do BA on someone under 18 (even if you are physically mature enough, it’s considered unethical by most). Yes, you would need parental permission for anything else, although I do not know the minimum age for surgery in general. It will most likely fall under the clinic’s/doctor’s personal values, as well as your own and your families. I’m not entirely sure what else to say, because I would just be repeating things said by others. If you find out the minimum age I would love to know though, because I am also looking to get some PS as early as possible (before I go to South Korea) Good luck!!

  22. Hey~
I recently decided that I want to get some plastic surgery in Korea, and so far I have narrowed it down to the clinics listed below.

    Clinics

Although I managed to narrow my original list of clinics down a bit, I have run into a problem...I heard from some sources that some of these clinics are blacklisted, but I haven’t been able to find evidence of that. I have found multiple excellent reviews on these clinics as well. I was wondering if any of you have insight on whether or not these clinics are any good? Please include pros and cons like pricing, results, service, etc. I would really appreciate it

    My Info
Caucasian, female, round face, high nose bridge with small bump, uneven eyes, nose, and jaw. Desired look is slightly doll-like, but still natural. Even facial proportions and small face.

Procedures I Am Looking to Get Done

    • Facial Contouring (V-Line, Zygoma Reduction, Forehead Augmentation)
    • Rhinoplasty (pretty much everything you can get lol I basically want a whole new nose)
    • Eyes (I’m not entirely sure what sort of procedure(s) I would need, but my concerns are that I have uneven eyes with low double eyelids. I look tired a lot of the time. My desired look is happy, cute, and doll-like. Not creepily big though lol!! If you have any recommendations as to what procedures I might look into, feel free to tell me!)

If you need any more information, I would be happy to give it to you! I have not yet decided on a date (I do not live in South Korea currently) at which i will fly over, but by the time I save up enough (looking at some price quotes have given me an idea of how much time it will be until I go lol) I will most likely be in college there. I also will (most likely) speak almost-fluent Korean.
Thank you for your time!! I sincerely wish you the best in your own PS journey, and if you have any advice, I’m a newbie desperate for tips and tricks!! I will upload photos later, as I am writing this at an inconvenient time to take photos. Once again, thank you in advance!!

    ~Rose
