I was advised against using a non-board-certified plastic surgeon for plastic surgery, so I did not go with Dr. Jin.
Not to mention he is very arrogant and unorganized. We agreed via email on a date for in person consultation, a month prior to the actual date, I reconfirmed with him, and he literally was questioning who I was, after reminding him he briefly recalled. When I showed up the morning of consultation, no one spoke any English and my consultation was never in his schedule. Arrogant by him stating his rhinoplasty is $9,000 USD (saying bc he can) I brought a picture printed from home in the U.S. with a nose I wanted, this man drew and wrote all over my picture with ink pen. Very rude and disrespectful person.

Thanks. Sounds like the clinic put no thought into naming the place. It puzzles me why certain reviewers on here will not disclose the clinic name, make us guess clinic names, or requests to private messages in order to reveal the name of clinic, it defeats the purpose of writing the review if the person omits the clinic names.

After much reasoning with the clinic, I got a text in the late evening. I was asked to pay for the medication and a dwelling shot. I was surprised. Why do i have to pay additional? I was given a "complimentary" deswell shot during the operation which I was not aware of as I was under anesthesia. Was told about this when I was about to step out of operation room.

When I asked why I have to pay again (on top of the 3mil KRW agreed $ + 0.3 mil (which I paid for the purpose of VAT but it ended up into the clinic's account), the reason given by the consultant was:
1) Because I paid in cash (3.3mil). Hence I get to enjoy more (extra) services. And so they did not charge me for medicines and the deswell shot (which I did not request prior to or during the surgery).
However, if I wish to claim tax, I have to absorb the payment for the above 2 services.
A new receipt will be given with a tax claim form.
So I now have to pay 3.42 mil KRW (inclusive 10% Vat). I would be able to claim 7-8%. That means, I end up paying about 3.18mil KRW. Would not this be almost the same as the INITIAL quote of 3.2mil KRW (exclude 10%) which she says I am allowed to claim VAT but NOT the 2nd quote which I paid cash.

I consulted my friends by showing them the text messages and they too don't understand why an agreement of 3mil ended up with 3.3mil. The consultant says that's the whole point of cash discount. But if the agreed discounted price is 3mil, why you took 3.3mil from me, yet didn't tell me the 0.3mil does not go to the government?
Is she playing with the prices/numbers which will allow clinic to earn 3.2mil at least, whichever quote she charges me?

The weird part is now, I got to pay again before she let me get the tax claim.

What should i do now? I have yet to go for my 1st aftercare deswell treatment which she says is added (free) service.

The clinic I went was Wan***e.

I had my primary double eyelid surgery with epicanthoplasty in the United States. I would definitely say it was a botched job, even though I went to one of the best plastic surgeons in the states. My eyelids came out uneven but the worst part was the epicanthoplasty results. They were cut way too deep and they were uneven. On top of that, I was left with really deep scars. I was extremely sad and depressed for so long and regretted my decision to get the surgery. I remember e-mailing so many plastic surgeons and clinics in Korea about my situation. To my dismay, most of the plastic surgeons said they did NOT perform epicanthoplasty reversal or revision. I was SO depressed and I lost ALL hope. Then I found one clinic who did them but he gave me an estimate of $10,000 USD. That was impossible for me. As desperate as I was to have this problem fixed as soon as possible, I was SO afraid of making another mistake that I just waited year after year until I found a doctor or anyone on the internet who was going through the same thing I was.

Fortunately, I found someone on the internet who went through the exact same thing and already did her revision surgery on her inner corners!!! I was SO happy because she was extremely helpful. After YEARS of research, I narrowed my consultations down to 2 doctors/clinics.

SHINSEUNG - Dr. Shin
His administrative/secretarial staff was SO NICE & KIND! I felt extremely comfortable because I had such high anxiety going to my appointment. The consultation was about 30 mins. Dr. Shin told me that he would make my eyes very pretty and not to worry. That's it. He also stated that I needed botox on my forehead because it's best not to move my eyebrows/forehead for 3 months post operation. He also told me that he doesn't believe all the measurements were important because he believes in just producing beautiful eyes. The consultant then took me to a room and showed me before/after photos and told me the price.

EVE - Dr. Chung
His administrative/secretarial staff was nice also and very pretty/cute. Dr. Chung is much more quiet and calm. I really found my consultation with him EXTREMELY helpful because he was all into measurements. I knew he was the right doctor for me because that is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a certain distance and I really needed one corner to be closed up more than the other, etc. He measured everything and was very detail oriented. No botox necessary. I chose Dr. Chung for my revision

It's so interesting because BEFORE the consultations, I was pretty sure I was going to choose Dr. Shin because of the good reviews I found online. But what I learned is that you have to choose the right doctor for YOU. It's important that you and the surgeon share the same vision. Another thing I learned is that you should NOT EXPECT PERFECT results.

I honestly thought that I would be stuck with my eyes forever and that there was no way of getting my old corners back. I really don't know how Dr. Chung did it but I'm forever grateful and appreciative.

Now there are plenty of doctors and clinics that do epicanthoplasty revision (MUCH more than when I was initially doing my research) so meet the doctors and go with your heart!!!

I plan to go back to Korea to fix my double eyelids.
(I did not do it with my epicanthoplasty revision because I wanted to solely focus on fixing my inner corners first.)
