Hello, I am really interested in Korea as a foreigner from the US to have a rhinoplasty done to correct the bulbous tip of my nose. I am mixed race, Polish and Filipino/Chinese. I have a low bridge and a short nose with a bulbous tip: I would like to fix the tip, but I am fine with how my nose looks from the profile. I have attached some pictures and would love to hear from anyone who has had a similar procedure done!

I do not want any foreign material in my nose (no silicone, no mesh that could lead to complications later). I am fine with cartilage or rib. I am looking for a reputable clinic with strict safety measures, follow up care, and senior doctors who know how to achieve a harmonious, beautiful all-natural nose- particularly when it comes to bulbous noses. I want to avoid the upturned "pig nose" that is common when operating on already-short noses. I would also like to avoid the "11" look - or straight line from brow to tip that occur where the nostril creases are when bulbous reduction is done poorly (does not fix the bulb just makes the bulb smaller.)

I want my nose to better fit my face. While I love the dramatic look of the "barbie line" nose, I would also be content with slimming it down to a more petite appearance. I have a "baby" face, and would like it to look more elegant.

Please let me know if you have any leads, or good experiences with a certain doctor at a certain clinic/hospital. I am also considering using a service like doc finder Korea as it will be my first time traveling to Korea and I do not speak the language.

two more things that aren't as important, but I have been considering:
Under eye Eyebag removal (I have very puffy eye bags that do not go away), though I am worried about possible complications. Has anyone had success here? What about with thin skin?
Hair transplant for women (FUE). I would like to lower my hairline a bit, it is very sparse and high-set. I would prefer a clinic who does women's transplants and also knows how to use nape-hair and set the hair to look like the most natural edges.

Am about to do a Rhinoplasty at JK Ps. The doctor will not put in any foreign implant and refine only my tip. Will see how it goes. I chose him because he is very experienced and was the only one who did not insist on a silicone implant. Follow up also very good.

There's also a limitation to how much of the structural integrity (skin muscle soft tissue etc) can be augmented and narrowed before it starts to look odd. Someone with the right tissue structure can achieve those beautiful defined and sharp noses we see on advertisements (assuming thats the beauty ideal for you that is) but someone with bulbous nose needs to be more realistic of what to expect. Clinics will usually say "yes we can make it like that or close to it as possible" but I don't like that statement cos its so vague and can be easily misinterpreted to give the wrong subjective expectation. I think its much better to show your surgeon that you are realistic so he can give you a realistic response. Unfortunately alot of surgeons just tend to over promise. It doesnt mean they are a bad surgeon but that just causes problems for both parties in the long run

Also, you should be aware of the thai and filipino surgeons. Many use L silicone and even the ones who don't tend to end up having deviated noses because they don't know how to place the implant at the periostiem. So you should really discuss these factors first with the doctor

JK - quoted me 13.5 million won for FC, which is the exact same price as docfinder quoted me. They also told me that prescriptions would be around 160,000 won, and if i wanted airport pickup/dropoff it would be 100,000won both ways.

View - much more friendly and answered all my questions. he even said the photoshopped picture i sent looks very realistic and they will probably be able to achieve a very similar result! i asked about sagging since my skin isnt super tight to begin with, but he said that not everybody experiences sagging after FC and that i shouldnt have sagging since I'm only 21, but if im worried about it i can get thread lifting done for 3.5 million won for 50 threads. The price he quoted me for FC was 12 million won, which is 1million won less than docfinder quoted me. For some reason i thought docfinder quoted me 12million for view as well, so i told him i would contact docfinder to book an appointment with them for me. he called me right away and said its better to book directly because the price will be cheaper, and that we can negotiate a cheaper price if i decide to go to them directly rather than through docfinder. he said they usually give higher prices online because theres a lot of unknown factors and its better to tell them a higher price up front and lower the price after xrays are done. he also told me prescriptions should only be about $50.

I ultimately decided to go with View directly and not through docfinder. I'm also considering doing fat graft as well, because i originally planned on doing filler for my forehead and nasal labial fold/cheek but he said fat graft would be better. (btw, he said fat graft would be 3.5 million won which is why im still thinking about it lol. i'll probably only get it if i can negotiate a lower price.)

Thank you all for the valuable insights. This is my first post.

I'm firm going to Dream without planning to consult with other hospitals. Reasons being:
1. I know what needed to be done - smas mid facelift, neck lift and DES revision. Won't consider other procedures as it's already too much at one go.
2. Online consult with other hospitals basically concurs on these procedures.
3. I haven't read many negative reviews on Dream tho not too much info on Dr Yoo (who's going to perform all the surgeries) can be found on the web as well.
4. I don't have the luxury of time to do a pre-consult.

I've been asked to place a deposit of 10% to secure the surgery slots. My question is if a substantial amount of deposit is already being placed, why would the clinic want to negotiate with me?

Can those who have surgeries done by Dr Yoo share your experience?

There are good reviews on Dr Park. Closed surgery on nose is rare and recovery is faster. It depends on what you want. His double eyelid surgery is very good too I read. If you want something more dramatic you can always tell the doctor. Also the outcome also depends on the thickness of your nose skin and how close your eyes are. If skin is thick like mine it’s hard to make nose slim and sharp, very risky. If your eyes are close together, a high bridge will make it worse. Just consult and see how...

Dr Park is not an option they are giving me. Mine will be open so he will not handle it. Am wondering if anyone else at Dream is highly rated? For a bulbous wide nose.

IF you are going to Dream. Dr. Park is really good with nose and none incisional eyelids surgery. I got both done with Dr. park at Dream. Super happy. Especially the healing is very fast. Have to do with his skills.

A lot of girls I’ve talked to on Kakao have gone to View for revision rhinoplasty and have liked their results. The Dr known for dramatic noses is Dr. Lee Dong Chan. I just did my primary with him and am waiting for my results.

Definitely not a promoter. I paid for these surgeries with my own money and have been very active on several KakaoTalk chat groups in the months leading up to my surgeries. I have extensive research, chats with girls I met up with and pics of my bandaged face to prove it.

Results vary person to person based on their anatomy, health and expectations. f2f consults make all the difference. I was set on View before I went to UVOM.

Am in the same position. I think you just have to read a lot and ask. When to decide depends on how comfortable you are with the doctor. I still can’t decide whether to put down a deposit or go see them first. Even though I am almost set on one for various reasons.

I agree. I have walked away from many Thai PS offices. Didn’t like their methods or service.

Has anyone heard about Dr Hong Jin Myung of Dream. I wanted Dr Park but was told he doesn’t do my kind of open surgery and they recommended Dr Hong. He seems young and new but I like Deam’s natural finish.
