They replied super fast and they used emojis so I thought that was a nice friendly touch. They straightaway recommended a silicone implant and asked why I preferred not to use a silicone implant.

First to reply was GnG who was actually more thorough on KakaoTalk, in WhatsApp they literally only gave their quoted prices and didn't ask for any further details or pictures however it's not really worrying for me because they proceeded to ask for it in my KakaoTalk message. So definitely contact them through KakaoTalk.
On WhatsApp and KakaoTalk they quoted me:
Rhinoplasty (non-implant): 5,500,000 KRW + 10% V.A.T.
Alar reduction: 1,000,000 KRW + 10% V.A.T.
Osteotomy 1,000,000 KRW + 10% VAT
Fat graft: 900,000 KRW + 10% V.A.T. for each desired areas
Non-incision eyelid surgery: 1,400,000 KRW + 10% V.A.T.
(As I see it these prices are pre-negotiation but so far I think regarding you can get a tax refund it’s quite affordable no? But it’s my first time having surgery so I don’t know what is considered cheap or expensive haha)
After looking at my pictures and my dream pictures, they suggested an Osteotomy on top of everything. Haha, seems like my nose has a lot of problems? I gotta say when I first read the message I thought, ohhh geez they're trying to scam me for unnecessary procedures however NANA also suggested an Osteotomy after so it’s fine.

VIEW:
They only quoted for a rhinoplasty because they recommended I should only get rhinoplasty, which I appreciated the transparency of not trying to upsell me. They reluctantly gave me pricing for alar reduction but said I didn’t need it. They said I can consider further procedures after my initial rhinoplasty which if I'm honest doesnt really work for me because I'd rather do the areas I am most concerned about in one trip rather than constantly going back and forth. The prices they were initially quoting are also on the higher range and from what I read VIEW doesn't really do a discount so I don't expect these prices to budge much.

Since my nose was the most important aspect of my procedures to get right, I only got the prices for rhinoplasty. I do think overall the prices are negotiable and since I'll be on the lookout for their promotions, it will be overall cheaper.

April31:
April31 is the first clinic (so far) to point out that it seems I have a bulbous nose from looking at my pictures and thus would, therefore, need an overall reduction. They also went into great detail about how they would theoretically approach the surgery to achieve my dream nose.

Since they quoted my different prices depending on the doctor, I feel like I'd need to do more research on which doctors did which rhinoplasty to see which doctor I prefer, without research, I'd obviously think the more expensive surgeon could give me the nose I wanted. Again, since nose surgery is the most complicated part of what I want overall, they only quoted me for rhinoplasty prices. I think I would definitely book a face2face consultation with April31 with my chosen doctor since they sound like they know what they're doing.

UVOM:
They said my nose is slightly bulbous (again haha, never have I ever thought this but now that two clinics have said it, I guess it could be) and has a slight hump (also never thought or knew this) and for my dream nose they would need to remove unnecessary cartilage, then bring my nose together for overall smaller appearance and extend my columella. Since my eyelids a super uneven and it super annoying to do eyeliner, I wanted eyelid surgery. UVOM suggested that they will replicate the kind of fold my right I was (parallel double eyelid crease) except cut it a little higher for a more bigger and brighter look, which I cannot agree more. They also told me that because I have thin skin on my eyelids I could choose either incision or non-incision (ooh the choices) I asked which type was the kind where when you close your eyes you can still see the crease, they honestly said it was the incision type so I told them I' d rather do the non-incision method.
they quoted:
5,000,000 KRW for rhinoplasty with bulbous correction
1,000,000 KRW extra to remove the hump
1,000,000 KRW to extend the columella

2,000,000 KRW for non-incision eyelid surgery

Overall they were extremely informative and frank about everything explained to detail at how I could achieve the nose I wanted that I felt at ease! I am definitely adding UVOM to my finalised list of who I would be booking f2f consultation with nearer to my preferred surgery date, they really sound like they know what they're doing and they seem pretty upfront that they're open to negotiating.

On my definite Face2Face consultation list are GnG, April31, NANA and UVOM

Hyundai Aesthetics:

They reassured me that they usually use a silicone implant and that I could still achieve a natural result by removing my slight hump (again with the hump TT_TT), to make a gentle curve (I like the sound of a gentle curve). Haha, they also said my septum is sliiiiiiightly deviated (another first) and would need straightening out and this would even out my nostrils (my nostrils are uneven?) with would overall also make my nose more projected. Overall since my nose tip would be more reduced they would do an alar reduction also which will overall come to:
5,000,000 KRW for Rhinoplasty
I haven't shown them my dream pictures yet so before agreeing with what they suggested, I sent them the pictures asking if the procedures suggested would achieve the nose I want.

After consideration, my chosen surgery is rhinoplasty with alar reduction, double eyelid surgery and fat graft to target nasolabial area and undereye.

My profile is pretty flat because I have a very low nose bridge but my general nose projection is actually pretty nice, I would like my overall front view of my nose to be less wide but instead of going for a pointy nose (which I do not not not want) I want a more rounded soft-looking nose. For reference, I used Angela Baby's nose as what I would like my nose to look like.

My preferred face2face consultation and surgery date are around 11 months away but I'm the quite the person that excessively plans and researches. As I am writing this I am in the process of talking with various clinics about their pricing and the realistic prospect of what and how I would like to achieve with surgery.

This is going to be quite detailed and lengthy like my title stated, almost to the point when I should probably be writing a blog about it haha.

So far I have contacted: GnG, DocFinderKorea, Marble, View, Faceline, UVOM, Hyundai Aesthetics, NANA, April31, DREAM, GoWoonSaeng, NAMU.

I have considered HANABI but since they only do rhinoplasty and specialise in it as much as that appeals to me I am looking to do more than just rhinoplasty so that doesn't really work for me . I do like how they refuse to do more than a certain amount of surgeries per day though. If you're looking to do only rhinoplasty from a renowned clinic known for their rhinoplasty I suggest having a look at HANABI.

DocFinderKorea:
In my defence, I only contact DocFinderKorea because they popped up on my search feed quite a few times but honestly how I see it most clinics will have their own interpreter in their service and so going with DocFinder career wouldn't offer anything extra than just going to the clinic directly would offer. Also as I've seen and read DocFinderKorea I think only have a few clinics under their recommendation anyway. So after I received their email about further information, I stopped replying since I am not that interested to pursue things with them.

I am here to share my experience of Chin Implant in Bangkok, Thailand with Dr.Chakarin Suchakaro.
It was awhile of me deciding to fix my chin at the very beginning. I had realized that I have got short face because of short and sliding back chin which had made my face did not look proportionate at all. In December 2018, I decided to go ahead with my chin surgery with Dr.Chakarin. I did some of the research and look over on the before and after photos review. At that moment, I knew he is the one to be called as my surgeon.

It took me only a week to book and schedule my appointment, I did reach the clinic through email and got a very responsive email back and forth for over weeks, they did go through everything with me starting from let me sent the photos of my face for initial evaluation, my questions were all well answered and described, then I did transferred the deposit to reserve my surgery spot. Everything was well planned and perfect. Once I arrived the clinic on the day of my surgery, I did meet Dr.Chakarin and all the staffs who had been helping me through all the process. They started from taking photos of my face in the studio for the medical record, and then took me to the design room where I got to meet the surgeon once again, he did mark and design on my face then he went through all the complications with me in person which I was really satisfied and pleased of what they had done since all those advice and reminders had helped me a lot for self-care post operation tricks. I do love Dr.Chakarin that he listens and then discusses, he made me feel so comfortable in every way and because of his supportive mind, this thing had made me realized why this doctor is so popular in Bangkok.

My surgery took about 2 hours with local anesthesia, it was not painful much, let's just say endurable. Everything went perfectly just fine. I was referred to the recovery room for about 2 hours and then got back to the hotel right on the same day. For my first couple days, I had to say I had no swelling at all , only the bandage put on my chin area. A little bit hard time on chewing, but the pain won't stop me from eating lol.

I remove the stitches inside my mouth on day 7. The result is just beyond my expectation. No scar at all from outside since they did the inside suture technique. I am happy that I chose . Every angle looks just right and now I finally got long face!!

I have got a very good feedback from my family and friends,

now I am on the next journey of doing nose, I'll try to keep update it you.

It doesn’t have no risk however, so if you have enough cartilage, I would recommend you use that! Otherwise, Goretex is another option

I decided to create an account for the sole purpose of writing a thread for all y'all considering plastic surgery in Korea because I just could not handle seeing many of you being close to making wrong and regretful decisions for such important procedures.
Now, the only procedure that I've ever gotten is rhinoplasty last year at Dream Medical in apgujeong exit 4. I am 100% Korean and live in Korea as well as have gotten many helpful tips from surrounding people. I've only lived in Korea for about 3 months now but I've been visiting in and out for several years now. I know that my knowledge is probably not as extensive as those of who have lived their whole lives in Korea, however I figured that something is better than nothing especially coming from someone whose ethnicity and nationality is Korean.

Moving on to the topic of Plastic Surgery. There is no doubt that Korea is one of the leading countries in the world when it comes to beauty and cosmetic surgery. This explains the HUNDREDS maybe even thousands of plastic surgery clinics in Korea. This should be a red flag for ALL of you simply because of the hundreds of plastic surgery clinics out there. It is impossible to know which clinic is trustworthy and ethical (aka does not perform unethical procedures for example switching doctors, using unhygienic material, having less than mediocre surgical skills, etc) and which is not. Here I am going to list the most important and crucial tips for choosing the right clinic:
1. Do not have any procedures done at clincics outside of the Gangnam Area. Preferably outside of the apgujeong area. - Apgujeong is basically known as the district of Plastic Surgery. You go out and you'll see clinics literally EVERYWHERE. Even up to 3-5 clinics in the same building. There is a reason for this. In Korea, they say that if a clinic is in the apgujeong area, they are most likely going to be reliable and authorized/official. Meaning that they are most likely going to be licensed and legit. Now this doesn't mean that ALL of them are going to be legit and it also doesn't mean that clinics outside of the apgujeong area are all going to be crap clinics. There are some good clinics in the Gangnam area outside of apgujeong, but if it is a clinic completely outside of the Gangnam area I would not recommend. What I am basically trying to tell you, is that I would stick to clinics in the apgujeong area to be safe.
2. PLEASE do your extensive research about every clinic that you are planning to attend. -
Many clinics in Korea are blacklisted. The most famous blacklisted clinic is Grand Plastic Surgery. No Korean ever dares to go near there LOL. There is a list in the Korean community going around that has listed many of the Plastic surgery clinics that have either performed unethical surgeries or have had deaths/bad results. If you search it up on google, it should come up. Also, Korea plastic surgery clinics are very good about controlling what goes up on the web about their clinic, and what doesn't. Sometimes Koreans will post up their bad experiences with the clinics and the clinics will find a way to put it down. So if you know someone who has first hand experience with the clinic itself, then that is your best source of info!
3. Do not trust everything you read online.
One of the first things I want to point out is that in the Korean Surgery community, there is such thing called a "broker". "Brokers" are people specifically hired by the clinic to post up fake reviews online "boosting" their clinics and praising their name. However, this does tend to mostly occur in Korean community sites/cafes so for those of you who find most of your information in blogs like this or in the english language, you should be fine.
4. KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO HAVE DONE BEFORE YOU TAKE UP A CONSULTATION AND DO NOT BE FOOLED BY WHAT THE CLINICS TELL YOU:
CONSULTANTS. Don't be fooled guys. Whether they are completely rude or sweet talk you, do not be fooled by what they say. Their job is to sell you as many procedures as they can and to bring in the most income to the clinic so they get their profit. Sometimes they will recommend you procedures that you most definitely don't need and will manipulate you into thinking that they are right and that you need to fix some part of your face that you don't actually need to "fix". Therefore knowing what you want before you walk in for a consultation will not only save you from needless burdens and pain but will also save your wallet ALOT of money
5. Do try to negotiate/ bargain with the price-
Im gonna be straight up real with you guys. Foreigners get priced a higher price. Alot higher. Why? I don't know. Possibly even twice as much. However there is not much you can do but play with the price a bit. They will not bring down the price to what they quote Korean residents and natives. They'll probably deny quoting foreigners a higher price for all I know but yes it is true that foreigners get quoted a much higher price. The only other tip I can give you is to approach them in Korean language IF you are Korean and know decent korean. Otherwise, only thing you can do is bargain.
6. Do not go with medical tourisms such as SeoulTU or DocFK. It hurts my heart and head when I see people using these medical tourism guides to get a much simpler than it seems journey. Not only do they quote you a EVEN higher price for the procedure, but they're choices of clinic recommendations are very limited. Most of the times, they will have their 5-6 go to clinics that give them the highest profit for brining customers in. They will always reassure you that going with them will be give you the best price you could get and etc but not true. Save yourself thousands of dollars by not going with a medical tourism group PLEASE! For less than $5 you can take the subway to wherever your destination is (also subways are extremely easy to use). Book your own airbnb in advance for a much cheaper place to stay at, and approach the clinic yourself because most likely they will have translators! IT might seem intimidating but I assure you that it is much easier than it seems.

Clinics I want to talk about:
Before I start this off, I want to say that ALL clinics whether they be reputable and famous or not, ALL have their ups and downs meaning that not every clinic will perform perfect procedures every time. Just like doctors and surgeons, they can't be successful every time. So this is something you need to understand and risk.

Dream Medical group: This is one of the most famous plastic surgery clinics in Korea located in the apgujeong area. I had my procedure done after seeing successful results of my sister's procedures here as well. I personally had a very successful experience there for my rhinoplasty with Dr. Kim Young Joon. He's the head and I believe the only doctor who performs facial contouring. However he performs almost all kinds of procedures including, eyes, nose, lifting, etc. It is a little bit on the pricier side so if you're looking to not spending too much then I wouldn't recommend this place however it is a good and reputable clinic.

Shimmian: Oh man. Where do I start off. I've absolutely NEVER heard of this clinic before until I read english reviews?? I've seen many many reviews both good and TERRIBLE. Let me just say that I would never go to this clinic. never in my life LOL. This clinic in Korea is basically nonexistent. No Korean ever goes to this clinic simply because they don't even know about it. I don't even know if this place is still open. I've looked them uo before and their before and after pics are not impressive at all, so there goes red flag 1. I have no idea where they are located red flag #2. Reviews on this clinic, red flag #3. Enough said.

April 31: I have noticed that this clinic is very famous amongst you guys here on purseforum. I've personally never heard of this place before. It could be because it is a clinic that targets a foreign audience. However it is not famous in Korea nor do Koreans know about it. However, I did do some research and I've found people say that they have HEARD that this clinic is good at rhinoplasty but that they have never seen solid proof. They also say that this Clinic is way too expensive and that even if they were good they would never pay the price that the clinic quotes. So there you go. April 31 is just too expensive. You can find other more reputable clinics for much cheaper.

I will stop here because I do not know much more about any other clinic. I just wanted to discuss these three particular clinics because they seem to be famous and talked alot about within this forum. Whether you choose to follow my tips or not is your choice, but I wanted to just give a little heads up for those of you lost in the thousands of ps clinics in Korea. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer them! (: Also, please keep in mind that these tips do not apply to EVERY SINGLE ps clinic Korea. It is just a rough generalization.

I’m practically sold on Dream PS now, I managed to find their kakaoid to add and in front page for celebs that had procedure done there, AHA I was quite surprised to see a well known Thai celeb representing them. I always liked her surgery except she never admitted she had surgery, so funny.

I’m still shopping round doing online consultations: so far I have contacted; NANA, GNG, UVOM, April31 and DocfinderKorea (I honestly have no idea why but I’m not going with DocfinderKorea lol)

So far I’ve had a reply from all with most asking for photos and more info before quoting a price which I fine very professional.

GNG quoted me:
(I initially contacted them on WhatsApp but realized I could probably get quicker replies from clinics if I used KakaoTalk duhh)

On WhatsApp and KakaoTalk they quoted me:
Rhinoplasty (non-implant): 5,500,000 KRW + 10% V.A.T.
Alar reduction: 1,000,000 KRW + 10% V.A.T.
Fat graft: 900,000 KRW + 10% V.A.T. for each desired areas
Non-incision eyelid surgery: 1,400,000 KRW + 10% V.A.T.

On WhatsApp they didn’t ask for any further info or pictures so it was worrying but on KakaoTalk they asked for more info and pictures.
These prices are pre-negotiation but so far I think regarding you can get a tax refund it’s quite affordable no? But it’s my first time having surgery so I don’t know what is considered cheap or expensive haha.

NANA: they wanted me to provide images with more information but they said:
If I have alar reduction with rhinoplasty it’s 1,000,000 KRW extra

Please feel free to educate me if you think these prices are good or not, I plan to get an idea on prices they offer save up that much as a goal then book Korea and f2f with clinics and negotiate a lower price using the online quotes as a baseline.

Just a lil info about myself, I may be one of the youngest ppl on this forum to get plastic surgery, I just turned 18 in the United States and I decided I was going to bite the bullet and get my surgeries this summer. The only surgeries I have undergone was tonsil and wisdom tooth surgeries (hardly anything cosmetic) but I did have a sense of general anesthesia so that was a plus. I am Asian, and unfortunately I wasn’t born with a high nose bridge like my sisters in the family (sigh). It’s alright though! All can be improved When coming to Korea, I consulted primarily online with clinics over getting Osteotomy, wide alar reduction, bulbous nose correction, and epicanthoplasty. (There were some more procedures added later however!)

But I had a general sense of clinics to go to, which were primarily View and Uvom given the sheer amount of chatting and planning that was taking place.

Landing in Korea— So I left the United States on June 15th and headed towards S Korea! Me and my friend left near 11 pm so we would actually be landing in the country 2 days later, on Monday June 17th. Going through the airport was a breeze, but it took me a lot more money than I originally thought. For anyone getting a SIM card, I would actually recommend buying one online beforehand that includes talk and text! I would recommend Trazy where you can pick up your SIM card at the airport, I didn’t do that and instead went to the SKT counter where I got my SIM card but it was more expensive (71,000 krw for a month) and it only had data.

We arrived in the country super early in the morning, at 3:30 AM, and commuting to Gangnam was about an hour so we ended up arriving at UVOM at 5 in the morning. No one was open at that time though, so we just stayed at this small restaurant called Juju for 4 hours (not recommended!) We probably should’ve stayed at the airport longer and looked around. Once UVOM opened, I went in and the clinic was really cozy looking. I actually barged in 30 minutes before they actually opened, and Eunice (the consultant) told me that I arrived really early.

I waited for an hour or so, and I filled out some medical questions and took some angler shots of my face. After waiting, I went into the consulting room with Eunice and my translator Stephanie (the absolute sweetest girl) and we discussed what kind of procedures to get. Referring to my angled pics, Eunice actually pointed out a lot of things that I didn’t realize I even had that could be changed (like that I had a hump nose and a slight unevenness in my nostrils, go figure.) At the end, Eunice answered my questions diligently and we decided on adding Rhinoplasy-bridge insertion where they would add ePTFE for my bridge to add some height. I really did want to use Autologous material like my cartilage, but Eunice told me that the change would only be 1 mm or so. She told me to try ePTFE, which she says she had herself and I was surprised because her nose didn’t seem at all unnatural.

Note: I didn’t know exactly what ePTFE was at the time, but looking it up (and correct me if I’m wrong Purseforumers) is that it’s just a fancy variation for Goretex. So if you guys wanted to compare/weigh the pros and cons of such for rhinoplasty, now you know

Note: During my consultation, because I was still only 18, I actually needed to contact my family for them to give consent for my surgery. Only having a data plan, it was incredibly difficult to reach my mother, but I was able to work with Eunice and Stephanie to reach my mother (who at the time hurriedly agreed since she was incredibly busy) and consented to my surgery. If you’re 18, please be sure to get some note or be prepared to call your Guardians, I didn’t think Uvom would need to, but alas they did.

After the consultation, Stephanie went with me to exchange my money at the bank (they had way better rates compared to the ones at the airport!) and get some medicine at the pharmacy. The process was kind of long, but I had a really nice chat with Stephanie where we talked about life and stuff, so that was a big plus. During the time this was happening, View contacted me about my f2f consult, but I went with my gut and just stuck with Uvom.

Surgery: Surgery was happening the same day for me, only two hours later so I had to take a lot of tests and pictures beforehand. I met with Dr.Lee and Dr.Kang who would be doing my nose and eyes respectively. Dr.Lee was a lot more conversational, asking me how I was feeling, and chuckling when I said I was nervous. He actually pointed out that my nose was asymmetrical, saying that my left side was flatter than my right which really surprised me. He did some careful line drawings on my nose, and then Dr.Kang came in to ask me how far I’d like my epicanthic cuts to be. Dr.Kang didn’t speak as much, but he was prompt in telling me what incision was possible.

I put on my gown, and did a couple last tests, and I finally laid in their bed awaiting for surgery. A couple minutes later, Stephanie took me out of the room, and Eunice came by and told me she would stay with me until I fell asleep. During the entire process, Stephanie explained what was happening, and Eunice held my hand and rubbed my feet which made me feel a lot better, and then I fell asleep. I woke up later in the clinics bed, and I was bombarded with Stephanie and my friend tapping me so I wouldn’t fall back asleep. My throat was the absolute worst, incredibly dry and I begged Stephanie for some water. She brought in a cup and told me to drink then spit all the water back out, but I kind of drank some of the water since my throat felt like the Sahara desert. I slept for about 2 hours in the bed, and I woke up again at 12 am. Stephanie was the only staff member there, and she helped us get our luggage and stuff back to our Airbnb.

Post op:

Day 1.) I actually wasn’t in pain too much on my first day. There were occasional nose bleeds, but it was relatively minor and I went about drinking Ensure (Pro tip, probs the most smartest decision I made this trip, but Ensure really pulled through with providing me essential vitamins and nutrients needed! I didn’t really have to take anything else since drinking 3 a day already reached my daily needed vitamins!) I put on some medication and took a couple naps. At night, I strolled around my street for a short 10 minutes before I went to the CU convenience store to buy some fruit juice and arrive home to sleep.

Day 2.) I woke up super early in the morning at 5 am haha, as I was anticipating my trip back to Uvom for my post appointment. (I wanted to go back on my first day, but Stephanie told me to come on day 2 unless there was something urgent.) At 11, I went to Uvom and I received my first deswelling treatment (light therapy, which is basically just rainbow colored lights beaming down on my face). After, I went and Dr.Lee came in to check on my nose. He asked me if it hurt, and I simply nodded and he chuckled. The doctors proceeded to take out my nose packings which surprisingly hurt a lot, I kinda cried lol and Dr.Lee put in new packing and replaced the bandages under my nose. Dr.Kang came in and observed my eyes and he made me look at him before he nodded with satisfaction and left.

Day 3 and 4 were sort of uneventful, I swelled a lot on those days after I took several naps and I requested Stephanie if I could get bromelain at the pharmacy. She agreed and I resumed taking walks, on day 4 I managed to walk a lot more and I deswelled quickly. The parks in Korea are so pretty!

Day 5, I returned to the clinic and Stephanie wasn’t there so it was difficult for me to understand the staff, so I had little to communicate. All I did was nod and say yes lol, I did some more light therapy and Dr.Lee came in to take off my cast! I thought I was home free after reading @lipstickarsenal’s review and seeing she had her cast taken off on day 5, but HE PUT THE CAST BACK ON. Sorry ahem, I guess I got a little ahead of myself haha, Dr.Lee kept the cast but the nurse was able to remove my nose stitches which was a great first step. Minimal pain and she was very efficient!

On day 6, I did some more walking and I even went to McDonalds heheh. For anyone curious, McDonalds actually has Pineapple cups! So if you wanted to get some natural bromelain for deswelling a pineapple cup wouldn’t hurt!

Day 7, My appointment was supposed to be that day, I was super excited but it got canceled, cries* It’s okay though, my appointment was moved to Day 8, and I went around Gangnam and ate at my very first restaurant

Day 8, I went to the clinic and once again got deswelling light therapy, Stephanie greeted me once again and I went to the back to get my cast and stitches taken out. Dr.Lee made some conversation and Stephanie was super pleasant and supportive to talk to, so it made me feel less nervous. Dr.Lee finally took off my nose cast and my eyes lit up when I saw the mirror version of myself. My nose went from flat and wide to skinny and more defined and I was super happy with the starting result. It was a bit fat somewhat, but Dr.Lee assured me that it would deswell over time. (Note: not sure if anyone experienced it, but the tip of my nose feels really weird and it felt like numb to any touch). After, Dr.Kang checked on my eyes quickly and asked me if I liked the change to which I agreed, it made my eyes bigger and my eyes weren’t so spaced apart. The nurse took over and removed my eye stitches (it hurt but not too badly) and I was sent on my way!

Day 14- I just went today, and I finally got my stitches taken out of my nose, it was pretty painful haha. I held Stephanie’s hand and we cracked some jokes with the nurse taking out my stitches which lightened the mood. I was worried about any potential infection since my nose bridge had some redness, and Dr.Lee reassured me of the redness but wrote me a prescription for antibiotics at my request since I just wanted to be safe. (Thanks Kino for the advice!)

Honestly, this whole trip to Korea has been so incredibly surreal for me. I have always loved Korean culture and to be able to experience the food, art, shopping, society, etc that I’ve only ever seen through the screen was so heartwarming. Coming for surgery made me feel somewhat apprehensive, and at times I often questioned whether I should just learn how to self love myself was important (which it is! But don’t let that notion stop you from getting surgery, if you want to enhance yourself to raise your self confidence and you’re doing it for yourself, then do it! Uvom is by no means a large clinic, I stayed 10 minutes to places like Grand PS and ID plastic surgery which had tower like buildings devoted to them, in comparison Uvom was on the fourth floor in a more subtle area. However, the staff is incredibly kind and courteous, Dr.Lee and Dr.Kang are super precise and dedicated to what they do, and big shout out to Stephanie for helping me navigate the area by helping me exchange money, calling me cabs, and giving me recommendations on where to visit in Korea. Big shout out to the Kakao 2019 Eyes and Nose group chat and 2019 Rhinoplasty only for giving me a wealth of knowledge and support along the way. Honestly, I’m nervous about how my face will look 10 years from now, but I’m super excited to go out and tackle on what life throws haha.

Hello everyone!

My surgery date for my FC and rhinoplasty will be tomorrow (July 9)! I haven’t seen many reviews for Opera PS clinic, so I’ll be making a review for my pre-op process, post-op and the results with before and after (I’m also planning on videotaping whatever I can/the whole thing, but that’ll be posted once I’m back in my home country and my face starts to take shape). I’ll keep you guys updated throughout the whole process.

Surgeon: Dr. Kwon Soon Beom (chief surgeon and board certified)
Procedures:
- Facial contouring (3)
- Rhinoplasty (alar + tip)

Consultation (pre-op):
I had my consultation last week. First impressions were that the clinic was mid-sized and was very clean. It was fairly busy. I saw mainly Koreans with a couple of foreigners. Which means the locals trust this place (this is how I intrepreted it).

I met with the English consultant, Mel. She was great! Spoke fluently, explained the whole processes well and more importantly, she was not pushy at all. Whenever I had any questions, she was prompt with answering them and helping to ease my fears face to face and through Whatsapp. The only downside was that they only have one English consultant (to my knowledge) so you may be waiting a bit because there may be other clients she has to tend to. They do have other interpreters who speak Russian, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.

We met with Dr. Kwon, who spoke English fluently in a such a nice, calm manner. He was very realistic about my expectations, which is completely appreciated. All of the areas I wanted to touch, he just knew just by looking at my face. I had some concerns about the risks of facial contouring and he placed me at ease right away! (I’ll add more to this later.)

I had consultations with other clinics, but ultimately decided to go with Opera due to the reputation of the surgeon and his whole demeanour. He didn’t try to rush the consultation at all and answered all the questions I had. Not to mention, the prices they quoted me were fantastic compared to the other clinics. As most of you may already know, most clinics charge crazy foreigner prices. For this clinic, I believe they are more upfront with their prices. Of course, there is room for negotiations face to face but I think they may also depend on what procedures you are looking at.

Note: if you guys wanted me to talk about the other consultations I had with other clinics, let me know! I can add them on here.
