  1. Unfortunately, I believe there is a certain amount of privacy and respect a person should have and especially this site where there are so much uncertainty of the readers and writers.
I did not believable the claim that numerous members of the purse forum are actually paid by the plastic surgery hospitals to discredit each other or to booster their own cause. But when I was Gangnam and spoke to many patients and some of the hospital employees, I have come to conclusion that the rumour is true and unfortunately alot of the members are being paid to push newcomers to their hospital. I would say about 50% are true patients of PS, and the reminders are just people making a living marketing the ps hospitals.

  2. Did my rhinoplasty and alarplasty at GNG, experience was good. I am asian male and had similar hump and bulbous tip. Very pleased with results after 8 months. I did extensive research on most of the Korea clinics before choosing GNG. From my survey, literally all are good from a male point of view.... the two clinics that impressed most was Banobagi and GNG. Either one will give you want you want. If you managed to get Dr. Lee at Banobagi.... suggest you go with him, if not, then head to GNG for surgery.

  3. From my past experiences in South Korea and comments to his forum, decision is easier than you think.
As an asia male compared to female, all the doctors in the more popular clinics will do a good job. Criteria is more on having a natural looking nose (not bulbous and flat) rather than having a beautiful nose like those female kpop stars.
Because I wanted a natural look, i opted for implants rather than silicone. Implants gives a more natural look, while silicones will make you like Hong Kong movie stars, like a young Andy Lau or Chow Yun-Fat.
1 month after surgery, because it was so natural, friends kept asking me if i lose a considerable amount of weight because my face look so slim..... I did not say anything... they all wanted the diet secret!!!.... lol.
My looks did improved considerable after 3 months, and it keeps getting better as the swelling goes down.

  4. my name is petercc and Asian-American, male. I did the exact same procedures - rhinoplasty and alar reduction in South Korea in early August (3 months ago).
I did the same exact detail, exhausting research that you are discussing and in my past comments on this forum, all the populars clinics are very good. I spent almost 4 months researching hospitals and ended up spending 20 days in Korea with almost the first week just going from one clinic to another before choosing one.
I ended up shortlist two clinics, Banobagi or GNG hospital, in the end choosing the latter and very satisfied with the results.
why GNG? although I was truly impressed with Banobagi and they are very popular with the locals. GNG had more foreigners and their reputation for rhinoplasty is very good.
While I was recuperating from post surgery, I hated sleeping or laying in bed, so I prowl the corridors, floors, reception areas for two days and encountered three guys , all asian foreigners coming in for rhinoplasty operations.
one guy (vietnamese-canadian) came for a consultation and decided to do the operation the same day because he had to go back to Canada 7 days later. Another guy (asian-american), i think he came from Colorado, US, and had his schedule surgery, another guy , maybe from Singapore, he did his also at GNG.
Overall, i think they were very pleased with results, the guy form Colorado said he felt good about surgery, also the Singapore guy. Did not get chance to talk to Vietnamese guy as he maybe more bedridden because of pain.
For recommendation, I think as a male, the decision is easier than a female. the name mention (Nana, Uvom, View, Hanabi, and Premier.) are all good by reputation, ... beside the two mention above, I went to Nana, View and Hanabi.
There were all impressive, but I choose between Banobagi and GNG because I really wanted a natural looking nose after surgery, nothing drastic and, in my opinion, those two clinics look capable of giving me what I wanted.
At GNG, if by luck you get Dr. Seong, would seriously consider. Also, Dr. Hong, who did my rhinoplasty. Dr Seong is the head surgeon and he does the more difficult ones (revisions- clients who got their surgery messed up by other clinics), while Dr.Hong does the majority of the first timers.

  5. So far, ... all you comments is just trying to say I am wrong.... so how much did you pay for your surgery? as a foreigner or whatever friends told you that they paid? You haven't respond to my past request. (do not quote from other past comments from other people in this forum... I want to know "YOUR" direct experience as I am quoting from "My" experience while I was in Gangnam, Korea)
So, unless you quote direct cost on this forum, I assume you are either are one of those so called "marketing specialist" for clinics that thinks all foreigners are fools and gullible, or just a person who likes to stir controversy and see honest, hardworking people waste their money and left with hardship later for revision surgery. Which one are you?
fyi... it is Mr. Drama Queen!!!!... show some respect!!!
As for "lawyer" statement, I am have certificates/degrees in law and engineering, as an engineer, I am direct and straightforward in my statements, I give information that is relevant and logical... so when I read your comments, it makes me wonder if I am communicating with an adult or a 12 years child who cannot answer difficult questions and instead resort to childish statements on the precipice of throwing mental tantrums.
But, will do you a favor... you can respond to this, but I will not respond again. There are alot of good hardworking people who just want to better their lives by improving their looks, and looking for straightforward, honest opinions from real time experiences.... not from people who only "talk the talk" and never "walk the walk"

  6. Check out my other comments on this site, you will understand why not to use online estimates as a benchmark.
As indicate , all cost are just estimates, the real cost is given after to face to face.
As I comment in other blog, you will pay an average of between $5000 rhinoplasty , give or take a few $$hundreds.
As I indicated, the majority of clinics will charge around that price, additional amounts will depend on extra like rib cartilage or ear cartilage .

  7. Firstly, nobody is saying poor workmanship will occur if the price is lower. All I was saying was that cost of rhinoplasty averages around $4,500 and $5,000 us , in most “good” clinics.
Your link on “average” cost confirms that the cost ranges between $4,000 and $5,000 us and you never denied or say my numbers are wrong , did you?
I am wondering why would you reference that link, are you trying to redirect readers on a certain clinic or something? Hmmm!!
Why don’t you reply and tell readers which clinic you had the surgery and which ones do you recommended.
On the subject of “cashcows”..... isn’t all foreigners visiting Korea viewed as cash cows ...... if we are not!!!.... then why Foreigners are charged a lot more?
    Hmmmm.... food for thought.
It can’t be that a foreigner’s surgery will take longer or the medicine cost more.... or the nurses and surgeon charges more.... same doctors, same nurses, same bed, same medicine.
Will be waiting a reply .... immmm69..... let see what sales pitch you reply with.... or you will try to insult me..... please do.... as a lawyer.... I cherish the challenge.

  8. Agree, you can bargain, but how low are we talking, another $500 off. If they come close to $4000, take it with your eyes close, but insure you check with doctor's history......
Keep asking yourself, why would a clinic offer a discount so low:
    1. Is it because they want your business, so you can advertise ?.... they don't need it and your feedback will not boost local clients.
    2. Is it because you sound like a nice person and they feel sorry for you?.... out of the question
    3. Is it because business is slow and most patients prefer the safe way and go with more reputable clinics..... very logical
    4. Is it that have gotten a bad review within the local network?...... quite possible
    5. Is it they are offering a deal to keep operating expense running, waiting for business to pick back up? .... remote possibility.

In summary, if few answers of the above points are correct.... then why take the risk, not saying the more reputable ones cannot screw up, but the risk is lower.

  9. I (male) recently perform my surgery at GNG and quite happy with results. All the clinics you listed above will give you the results you are looking for.
One word of advice, absolutely do not use any quotations that was sent to you via online consultation. Those numbers are just to give you an idea of the range $$ for each type of surgery.
The real cost is after face to face consultation, and you will realized after these visits, that the prices do not fluctuate very greatly.
As a foreigner, you can expect to a pay a minimum of US$5000 for any rhinoplasty.... from that price it get higher for any additional requirements (rib cartilage, harmony package, etc)
Anyone Korea clinic that list a price below $5k for a foreigner, I would be very cautious.... like the old chinese proverb (good thing, no cheap,......... cheap thing, no good)
In summary, if your budget is lower than $5k for surgery in Korea, don't waste your effort..... maybe head to Bangkok which might match your budget and give ok results.

  10. I had the same rhinoplasty perform at GNG in August and after 1 month, have the same reaction from people. hehehe
My nose had looked so natural, everyone couldn't figure out why I look so different, believe it or not, but because my nose is slender, it made my face look more chiseled and everyone keeps asking me if i lost weight. lol.
Because of the complements, I went on a diet (no coffee, soft drinks, minimum bread intake) for a few weeks and lost almost 15 lbs to date, which made my body look more slender to match my face.
Because of the radical changes, I am getting more attention at work with respect to managing my sub-ordinates and co workers.
Sorry to make this statement, but it is a reality ..... but , has anyone if saw a CEO or a President of a company not attractive or good looking. Many years ago, a top manager and friend once told me , the success of career is 50% knowledge and skill and 50% marketability of oneself..... I am seeing the evidence of investing in yourself first before you invest into other ventures. I will always pay off at the end.
Forget the criticism and remarks from everyone about facial surgery, think of it as investing in yourself, beside trying to overcome emotional hiccups of how people view you,

  11. On choices of clinic, in my past comments, it really does not matter which clinic you choose as long it is the more popular ones like GNG, Banobagi, Dream, etc.
During my research in Gangnam before i choose GNG and surgery, I did alot of face to face discussions in Gangnam (not online), I found out the top surgeons in clinics listed above, perform almost three rhinoplasty surgeries a day, you would think they would become very good and they are!!

  12. I did rhinoplasty/alarplasty at GNG last month (August, 2019) and was very satisfied with results.
During online consultation, GNG consultants indicated that rib and ear cartilage will be required and quote accordingly (+US$9000)
But during face to face examination with Dr. Hong, opted for donated cartilage for natural implants. Cost educed by US$2000 . But he still may have required septal and ear cartilage (+$$) for implants.
After surgery, to my surprised, he had use only my septal cartilage (nose) with implants, for both rhino and septal surgery
In summary, my decision to use donated cartilage reduce the cost and it is safe to use. Secondly, I believe he avoided the use of ear cartilage indicates his skills and expertise in these surgeries.
Finally, I review so many comments on South Korean clinics (gangnam) trying to recommended unnecessary surgery for maximize profits. In the case of the popular clinics like GNG and banobagi, i really don't believe that is the case as top surgeons like Dr. Hong only perform rib cartilage if they have to.

  13. I bought an air most humidifier with me from US ( Walmart or Amazon choice) to Korea as a past recommendation comment from someone. They were right, the air mist humidifier is a savior, for the first three days after surgery, you nose complete block with gauze and bandages and breathing thru mouth dry out your mouth and throat, which prevented from sleeping and although the remaining 4 to 5 days your nose will be partial block, this air mist over you mouth can be such a relief . caution: take the hotel face towel and cover your nose and eyes while sleeping as the humidifier will discharge too many droplets over your nose which will result in wetting in the nose area and not recommended by hospital.

  14. Lastly , I asked GNG rep about comments of offering discounts for posting reviews about them, their explanation seems logical, they don’t make you write a comment whether good or bad.
I read some past comments where during consultation , they wanted someone to write good comments to review sites to get a discount before they actual had the operation. That is somewhat illogical in my opinion, firstly, all these Korean hospitals do not give any big discount to foreigners, you can forget that and the locals only get a 20% to 30% discount which is considerable, but the majority of Koreans cost of living is far below that of foreigners, so their reduction in pricing is logical. Secondly, why would GNG make this crazy offer , when they know you can write another comment after the surgery telling the actual truth , whether good or extremely bad. Again , GNG cannot stop you from writing anything once you leave the hospital.

  15. My second choice would have been Banobagi hospital, I was impressed with their facilities and their doctors look very good. But notice how they rushed everyone thru consultation as I read in past forums , it feels like medical factory more than a personal experience. They appeared to be very popular with locals, but had me wondering if because of their pricing and reputation or combination of both.
All can recommended is if you are considering rhinoplasty , GNG and Banobagi looks like best ones to give a excellent results.

  16. I reviewed all the hospitals and read so many comments on this forum , but I have come to the conclusion that all the hospital I considered are all good in one form and another from my personal experience.
It is so logical that these Korean doctors in popular hospitals perform at least three surgeries a day, how can they not be good or excellent at their job, which they are.

  17. I came out from rhinoplasty surgery yesterday and now recuperating in hospital. I had finally decided on GNG after visiting both Banobagi, Grand, ID hospital and Dream.
Dr, Hong perform the rhinoplasty (using donated cartilage) - Bridge augmentation, tip-plasty and alar reduction and he was great. For some reason , I have no swelling or black or blue effect so far.
