  1. @J Cn -

To my understanding he used the whole cartilage, as I had asked him if there were any implants or foreign materials being used within my nose and he said only my own cartilage and no implants, silicone or fillers etc

I was told for a male (because there is more muscle) that it would hurt more than female, for the first day the rib pain hurt a fair bit and it was a bit of a struggle to get up out of bed, from the 2nd day after surgery and onward, it got alot better fast - it was mainly the first day where it hurt for me.

I am still recovering a little bit now, but there is not anything I wont be able to do and was told it doesn't stop me doing anything long term.

As I am 10th day out of surgery now, my rib still hurts a little bit depending which side I am laying down on and I get small muscle cramps here and there as I am recovering, but this was told to me and so is the expected full recovery time line.

From my understanding there will be a scar (but not too big).

    Hope that helps.

  2. As I have received some more questions about this, I'll give a bit more of a run down...

My overall Revision Rhinoplasty (Using Rib) Surgery had the general ops done:
    - Osteotomy
    - Septorhinoplasty
    - Radix Augmentation
    - Bridge Augmentation
    - Bulbous Tip correction / Tip plasty

    - I stayed in Korea 8 days in total
    - I stayed at Hotel Tirol, which was close to his clinic and was adequate for a good price compared to some other expensive alternatives in the area (walking distance to his clinic).

On my first day I visited Dr Jin to do medical testing etc and then I had my operation the day after. After surgery the medication I was provided with pain killers and antibiotics and other assorted pills and cream.

Personally it was the first day only where my rib was in pain and it was a bit painful getting up to go toilet etc, but recovery was very fast after that.

Every 2nd to 3rd day he would do a check up, from memory on the first check up the day after surgery they provide several bags on a drip including antibiotics, nutrients and pain killer etc.

I had used pumpkin juice and some arnica cream for the bruising and swelling which helped a little, but am still recovering, I also took alot of pumpkin juice back to Sydney lol.

On my 7th day after surgery, I had got the stitches removed from my nose and from my rib, from the clinic I had gone straight to the airport to catch my return flight (first leg was 6 hours to Malaysia and then another leg was 8 hours to Sydney).

On my last day at the clinic I was told I would be best using Dermatix as the Scar Cream gel, that I could either get it on my way out of Korea or back in Sydney, I bought the "Dermatix Ultra - Advanced Silicone Scar Gel" from local chemist in Sydney and have been using it.

Feel free to message me if you have any more questions.

  3. Hey Guys,

I had Rhinoplasty done with Dr. Jin's Premium Nose Clinic using Rib Cartilage.

I had previously had a broken nose from a sports accident (bent nose) and had a turbinoplasty done in Sydney Australia, yet surgery only addressed some of the breathing issues and did not address the bent nose and some of the breathing.

As I already had surgery done on my nose for medical reasons, I technically needed a revision case done and after doing MONTHS of research between surgeons, I had decided to go with Dr. Jin.

My request was to do Septoplasty to improve my breathing (and straighten nose) and to undertake general open rhinoplasty using rib cartilage for aesthetic purposes on the overall nose, the look I had requested was a straight masculine nose that suited my face and ethnic background (I am from Australia).

Just over 1 week post op from the surgery now, my breathing is great and my nose looks so much better (and straight) and less bulbous, I am happy and feel like I made the right decision.

I have not put up B&A (I will in due time) as I still have black eyes and am swollen and recovering, but the difference for me I could tell was instant from when I got the cast off.

In my opinion, I could not have had a better result than I did.

He was very honest with everything from the beginning and the outcomes that could be achieved, his staff were very friendly and helpful, even as I emailed him earlier today about some after care topics, he responded to all my questions promptly.

I would definitely recommend him, especially for overseas patients as his English is great and no need for translators.
