  1. I'm sure he's a skilled doctor at Regen and what he does but going against his clients wishes and shaving off more than necessary, his bad accountability afterwards, is extremely poor. For me this is more than enough to not go see him.

How can you if you find yourself on the other side? I would never want anyone else to go through what some of the posters had to go through after a botched surgery. Avoid avoid avoid, for me at least.

  2. I think chin implants are a lot less risk than having it defined through bone shaving. You can take it out if you don't like it, or if any complications happen (reversible) compared to potentially being debilitated forever or sagging. That's my 2 cents

  3. **** these are the things that aren't mentioned about contouring . First of all I'm so sorry that you are going through this and by sharing your story many people will be informed about the true risks of this procedure. I can't believe how callously the clinic is treating you especially when they are in the wrong. I hope that the new surgeon who does the revision will be loads better and you get back a feeling of peace again.

  4. Thank you for being very brave and sharing your story. I appreciate your input, you are helping many make an informed decision about the pros and cons of proceeding with facial contouring.

I see, how long were you doing it? For Celestina, she says she's been doing it since 19 (think she is in her late 20s now) every 4- 6 months (and if you see her before pics, her face was much wider) and her jaw muscle has slimmed significantly over time

Yes its true the results don't last long, but I would not mind going for that upkeep, at least it is not like threadlifting and botox is less invasive and risky.

Let's say average cost of botox is $500 per session. I am 28 this year.

Botox 3x a year = $1500. 10 year cost = $15000. results are temporary and effective, does not cause muscle sagging and leaves the skull intact, however may be linked to brain changes, potential dementia change?

Face contouring - (got quoted $18000 at a wellknown clinic - now $14000 with discount)
On top of that, subsequent threadlifting sessions when I age where skin naturally lose their elasticity + possible lifelong complications by cutting into bone and muscle - $$$$

So when I turn 40 years old, there are these factors to consider from both ends.
They both come closely in cost... I am still considering many factors right now. But this is what has shown up during my research. Feel free to share anything else.

  5. Avoid threadlifting if you can. The hooks go into your tissues and you have sutures there and it doesn't last long. A plastic surgeon explains why around 21 minutes. Which is why facial contouring too is off the tables for me because you will need threadlifting to maintain the look down the line for the rest of your life if you don't want skin sagging.

Also fillers are off the table for me too. They can stay in your face far longer than previously thought and gives your face a bloated look over time because of all the accumulated fillers that don't absorb into your body. Remember your face is constantly moving so fillers will naturally go into other areas where it wasn't placed before. Look at Jaclyn Hill - her face is so bloated now from fillers and she doesn't even look the same like before.

This is why people who get lip fillers have a duck appearance because the mouth moves a lot and thus the filler migrates above the lips yet doesn't really get absorbed.
A doctor below discusses what he sees now with MRI scans to back it up.

  6. Very true. Even so you cannot trust a well publicized surgeon who has been on TV and YouTube. Dr. Oh of Regen seemed to have very good results a while back and was well renowned but has botched some people's facial contouring surgeries while having poor accountability afterwards.

There was another well known surgeon from another clinic that I was highly considering that had great reviews on real self but then I find a bad review on his FC and aftercare. This is very distressing to know that nothing is ever guaranteed.

Now, armed with this new knowledge, I think facial contouring is off the tables for me. Yes it may look good while you are young. But as you age, the upkeep when you age is no joke (sagging skin -> needing thread lifting constantly, damaging your muscles and tissue while cutting bone and them not reconnecting like before will lead to droopiness)

I'm considering rhinoplasty, eye surgery, chin implant (which can be removed if anything happens, plus give a defined chin), fat grafting, then botox (2x a year to slim face) moving forward.

Also, if you have a wide face (it could be due to muscle or soft tissue) do consider something where you can reduce it through other methods that won't destroy your face if something goes wrong, like buccal fat removal or botox to slim the wide muscles. Look at Celestina Tiew (on Instagram: celestinatiew) she used to have a wide face but got her face slimmer and into a vline look by botox alone, no contouring needed.

I would not go to ID hospital I heard bad things about them. Yes they are popular and heavily promoted but the bad stories are quite numerous and using shadow doctors to do your surgery and poor accountability afterwards.

  7. Thank you choukette!! Very helpful.

BTW I was thinking of face contouring but reading all the contouring gone wrong (skin sagging, muscles being cut and not reattaching properly, nerve damage, etc) and after effects doesn't seem to be worth it
In Korea its easy to go get thread lifting for the skin sagging after FC since it's everywhere, but I need to consider the upkeep when I'm back in USA, it's not as easy to just waltz into a clinic where they are not well versed in doing it, not to mention pricey here!

We don't know how the aging process will look with your skull shaved off later down the years, and the tissue placement. Plus, your bone loses density down the line.

I'm thinking of maybe getting a chin implant would be less risk to help balance my face and although my face is wide already, with fat grafting, eye and nose surgery will balance it better?

I was thinking of using Botox to slim my face instead. Less risk.
One of the Singaporean bloggers I've been following forever, Celestina Tiew says she's been using botox for years and its what helped slim her face down, no surgery needed.

If you are in Singapore you can quote her name for $100 off at Lloyd's Medical for Botox (but I'm in the states, so I will look for a clinic here) I've attached her before and after pics.

If anyone gets botox for face slimming, or had facial contouring would love to know how it's going for you. I would absolutely love to get facial contouring, but the risks are so real. I would love to hear insight and thoughts on this.

  9. Hello everyone! I want to hear how much it costed you for your facial contour surgery (at any clinic) to get a baseline. Have you experienced sagging or side effects as well afterwards?
Also, if any of you had experience with Dr. Oh at Banobagi, how was it? I am really considering Banobag due to their drastic, yet natural looking results.
Also if there is any surgery group for this year to Korea, I'll be interested to join! (Whatsapp. wechat, etc) Thank you.

  10. Hi everyone, I really want to get surgery done in September in Korea, double eyelid and nose job; possibly facial contouring and grafting.

However I know that when you go to clinics they will mark up the price. Do you guys know of anyone I can hire who is familiar with the plastic surgery world, knowing the good clinics where locals go and would advocate on my behalf?
I also want a fair price for the surgery, and would really appreciate this. Any leads or services?

Also looking to join a Whatsapp/wechat group for those who are also getting plastic surgery in 2020, please PM me thanks!
