  1. If I remember what I read elsewhere on this forum her result was actually good and she was the kind of pt who shouldn't get these types of surgeries bc she will never be happy

But I do have to agree 3 weeks post op is way too early for a revision but I am absolutely casting doubt on that because no doctor in their right mind would perform a revision any time less than 6 months so I personally think she's lying, unless we get proof otherwise I don't believe it.

Some people will never be happy and set out to slander clinics, like the case with Barry Eppley and Lucille, Lucille was very mentally ill and various other surgeons stated Eppley did the surgery well and her issues wouldn't arise from a facelift

  2. He actually advised against Vline and zygoma for me because of my concern with sagging, even though I'm in my 20s sagging will eventually get here related to FC lol

  3. I haven't consulted EU dental because I prefer an English speaking Doctor, but I am going to Dr. Lee for functional double jaw and genio. I am going to him because he has done maxillomandibular advancement cases and usually in Korea they set jaws back and I felt like most surgeons wouldn't do double advancement but he has done airway related cases before. As far as vline and zygoma, while I am interested he advised be about the risk for sagging and I appreciate his honesty.

I haven't heard of any botched from either and both are held in high regard here. I can't speak on behalf of EU because I feel they'd be harder for me to communicate with, I preferred being in contact with the doctor rather than consultants

  4. Forgot to add, you can also try v line.

I think Doctor Lee is careful in a good way, some people have too much removed and it leads to sagging or impairment of function

  5. Hi there, I am interested in going to Korea for functional and aesthetic double jaw surgery. I have a slight overbite and class II malocclusion and my airway is half of what it should be. I don't have sleep apnea and I'm 18 BMI, but with my jaws it's likely to come in the future and this is the best age for me to get 2 jaw.

I'm planning on going to TFD for it, I've had previous Ortho that tipped my teeth to camoflauge my overbite, but I was told my teeth didn't leave their bony house so I should be good. I'm mostly concerned about my airway, chin, and low smile line. What I need is advancement of both my jaws by 5mm to open my airway and maxilla lengthening is needed but I want to avoid protrusion. My jaws will probably have some degree of rotation. I'm not getting preop Ortho or extractions

I've been in contact with Dr. Lee and he's been so patient. I sent him a cephalogram I got taken by an oral surgeon here and he actually drew over it what his plan would be and I'm stoked about it. But I of course have some worries and want to ask those who have had 2 jaw some questions.

    1. We're your results accurate if you had preop preop imaging? I only have the cephalogram edit he did but I'm scared I'm gonna go in and get 2jaw and then look waaaaay different and be unhappy with it. It's a painful and expensive surgery and probably irreversible. A cosmetic surgeon here expressed concern because I have good forward growth on my maxilla and he is scared I'm gonna be deformed

    2. Do you have any permanent numbness if you've had BSSO? I was told based on my age I have maybe a 1 percent chance but I know surgeons over here pretty much guarantee it.

    3. How long did you have the gum screws in? I was told based on how I'm doing I can get them out at 4 weeks. I want them taken out in SK because there's such a stigma against medical tourism here in the US, but I can't afford orthognathic surgery here and they are less concerned about cosmetics. I'm concerned about cosmetics and function.

    4. How long did it take you to eat a regular diet? I want to go in early May and in August my boyfriend is graduating nursing school and I'm hoping to be able to eat normally by then lol

    5. If you ever got rhino after, how long did you have to wait? I was told 3 and 6 months by different docs

I'll post any more questions I have, thanks for anyone who answers I am super nervous and unsure about 2 jaw but I really trust Doctor Lee and he seems really honest

  6. How long would you recommend putting our surgeries off for? I was planning on going mid April, but I am not sure because we don't know how things are going to play out.

I have a friend in the US military who flew out Sunday and he said they're being sent back home within the week due to the virus. Whether it is SK sending them back or the US I am not sure. We also have no idea what travel bans may come in the future. Trump said he won't put a ban I'm yet, but he may.

US also got first confirmed case on someone who wasn't in contact with a known infected individual or recently abroad, so it's here too now.

  7. It depends on the direction of jaw movements. Many clinics in Korea like to move the jaws back which actually causes sagging and can cause airway problems. VLINE can cause sagging because you're losing volume. It's pretty much guaranteed to have some sagging iirc with any sort of shaving procedure

As a nurse and someone with sleep apnea, this was a major concern for me and I'm getting both of my jaws advanced at TFD because they're the reason I have apnea. If you are worried about sagging, get them advanced.

Swelling also is going to be a thing for 6mo to a year from what I've been told, but most of it should be gone within a few months
