  1. 8 month post op update:

    Hello everyone -
I recently visited Dr. Lee at his clinic Mulbangwool for an eight month check up.

He examined my breasts and incisions site and let me know that everything has healed very well and the breasts feel very natural. He took photos of my breasts from several angles and provided me pre and post op photos.

As for my left breast that had pain from before, that has disappeared. It has also settled very nicely.

I asked Dr. Lee about size differences between my new breasts and he told me that they are within the normal range and that my nipples are now more or less in line. Before one of my nipples was higher than the other so I'm glad they are now in line!!

I'm very happy with my results and they seriously feel SO NATURAL AND SOFT!! I'm so glad I got my breasts done and I'm so glad I picked Dr Lee and MBW. Even when I was in Canada and had questions the clinic and doctor always responded to my questions asap and welcomed me to visit the clinic for check ups. Over all I had multiple follow up visits with Dr Lee since my surgery in January and he provided me answers to all my recovery questions.

I'm very happy and really want to thank Dr Lee and the clinic staff .... Very wonderful experience from start to finish. If I could change one thing... I would ask for even bigger implants haha but I should not be greedy for bigger breasts haha... Overall I think the breasts suit my height and body frame very nicely.

Also as for those of you who have messaged me about implants types, I highly recommend sebbin micro textured implants. So soft and natural!!

  2. Than
Thank you for your kind words. My mom is recovering and it have been almost two weeks since her procedure. The large dent is still there to be honest, and she has been experiencing significant nerve pain on one side. We mentioned to the Dr she had pain but he dismissed her questions. Anyway, we will never go back to that clinic considering how bad their after care services are and lack of client service and support.

  3. Thanks so much for your kind words. Yes I agree, the procedure was a complete rip off. My mom paid close to 6 million Krw only to have the doctor oddly admit he didn't think the threads have any good value to them. This just shows the clinic was only interested in making money and not actually providing real results or recommendations to the client that will correct sagging. I was quite disappointed .. They didn't even properly sanitize her face with iodine like other clinics, they just wiped her face with a swab. So unhygienic.

I agree with you that many SK clinics price gouge foreigners and charge more than many US clinics and hospitals despite having much lower insurance and labour costs than the US. It's such a shame... I don't think I'd recommend thread lifting for older individuals and definitely not silhouette soft threads.

  4. The dents haven't improved much even after he filled them with Ellanse. He admitted that he didn't think the threads were a good price for their value during the treatment .. Which is odd and we felt he should have been honest about that prior to starting the procedure.

Overall I felt he didn't take his job seriously enough. During the thread lifting he kept chatting to me and debating issues he finds with foreigners going to Korea for beauty treatments (I rolled my eyes so hard during the convo, maybe he just has no social skills?). At one point he ranted about the current S Korean President and how disastrous he feels about his social policies.. He was talking about all this while inserting the threads into my mom's face. He was totally unprofessional and wasn't even concerned about the threadlift procedures. It was only after our followup session with him did he pay attention to any of the dents and only then did he try to readjust the threads... If he was less if a chatterbox complaining about foreigners, GPs, President Moon... I think then he might have noticed the issues with the threads earlier and readjusted them during the first session rather than waiting until the second follow up days later.

  5. We were so happy with Dr Lee's consultation which was why we paid for the services there. However they did a bait and switch after we paid, and we got assigned Dr Hong instead. He is just such a bizarre man. The whole procedure he kept bragging about himself, his family, where he vacations, etc. So weird. Definitely poorly mannered. My mom paid close to 6 mil for their services and didn't receive any after care either. Which is a huge difference between other dermatology clinics we have been to before. Anyway, I asked a korean friend to research the clinic and he said Dr Hong didn't even graduate from a decent medical school whereas all the other doctors did. I definitely think Dr Lee is the best choice out of the two there at apgujeong.

  6. Hi All -
I always avoid bad mouthing clinics but I had the worst experience at Hushu Dermatology Clinic in Apgujeong. I accompanied my mother for her consults as a translator and we first had a great experience with Dr. Lee there but after we paid for the threadlifts, they told us he was not available. They recommended the other doctor, Dr. HONG, to do the threadlift.

My mom returned for her procedures with Dr Hong and it was the first time we met him. He began lecturing us about cheap clinics like Toxnfill saying how can we as foreign tourists go to such low grade clinics, don't we understand the difference between dermatologists and GPS? On and on. He kept lecturing and was so condescending.

My mom returned for her follow up visit and there was a massive dent from her threads and he recommended to fill it up. Which was FINE we were happy to return for fillers, but when we did return he mentioned we weren't following his recommendations and that he wanted to do more fillers on both sides of the cheek. My mom only wanted to fill the right side of the face since that's where the dent was. But he got so upset and was raising his voice and refusing to let any of us ask a question. He was so rude my mom, in her sixties and a strong woman, began to cry. I was shocked and was speechless with how he was speaking to us. FINALLY the clinic manager came in to watch, and the doctor realized he had an audience. He quickly changed his demeanor and began to say we misunderstood him, it was a miscommunication etc. Lol. Excuses. His attitude was rude, he was yelling, waving his arms around and just completely unprofessional.

The clinic manager tried to smooth things over which I appreciated but the damage is done. Plus this clinics prices are extremely high for the value patients get. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Dr Hong at Hushu. So insane! I told him and his manager I've been coming to korean for three years and have never experienced such treatment by plastic surgeons, GPs, dermatologists, etc. First time in my life!

  7. Given the concerns about hidden brokerage fees, kick backs from clinics to translators, etc...I'm going to post information about the Gangnam Medical Tourism Centre - a government run agency. You can contact them for more information on getting a medical translator (meaning they are licensed to provide translations for medical procedures) to accompany you on your consultations.

Rates and Contact information in the screenshots attached.

  8. I've received a reply from the clinic and they say they cannot provide an answer for why my left breast is more painful and experiencing the squeaky/rubbing sounds. The left breast continues to be painful, but there is some mild improvement from a few days ago when it was so painful I could not even sleep.

The right breast is nice and round, but I noticed the left breast looks square and boxy and the implant sits more laterally to my side so the nipple points out to the left more. I'm quite dissatisfied with the shape of my left breast, but I'm trying to remain patient until my post-op check up with the clinic in four weeks.

  9. 6 Weeks Post-Op Update:

My breasts are nicely settling and have become very soft to the touch.

My right breast has healed very well. The incision is still red but not raised at all and I'm continuing to apply the silicone scar tape.

My left breast is still sore to the touch and painful when squeezed. When I move, walk quickly, or use my arms suddenly, I do notice a watery or rubbing sound. It's almost like a squeaking sound. I've kakao messaged the hospital and I'm waiting for the reply. I've told Dr. Lee before about the sounds and he said it is normal up to two months. I'm going to wait another two weeks to see what happens.

I started light exercising at week 5, and light yoga exercises as well.

Overall, the aesthetics of my breasts are very nice, perky, round and natural. I will update more when I hear back from the hospital about my left breast!

  10. I consulted with them at the end of January. I think it's cause I mentioned I know one of the girls who modeled with them in the past (also a user here on PF) as the one who first introduced me to the clinic when I arrived for my consultation. Cause before that they quoted me a totally reasonable price..

  11. I did not end up getting BA with him but noticed his clinic was full with pre-op and post-op patients while I was there. He recommended sub-fascia implant which isn't something I wanted. Other than that, he is a good surgeon!

  12. I visited Dr Park and Park Jin Seok's Breast clinic. I had a very positive experience with his clinic and the clinic manager is so sweet and kind.

Dr. Park also seems to be knowledgeable and fairly honest about what type of implants are best for the patient versus others that might push a certain brand. He speaks good English too which is a bonus!

  13. Oh man! It really bugs me when someone gets a successful surgery from a clinic and just won't share the name! It really shows they don't want others to have similar good results :S

I heard Nano is great for revesional nose surgery plus a more natural, straight bridge and rounded tip.

  14. There is light therapy (the heat wave you mentioned) provided but in my years of ps experience, I can say the best deswelling treatment is light walking. Walking helps your circulation and helps your body clear the built up lymphatic fluids from the surgery.

  15. Yes it is provided!

  16. I went for my Day 17th check up at the hospital.

Dr. Lee took progress photos and checked my breasts carefully with his hands, asking questions about pain, numbness, etc. Areas with bruising he checked carefully and asked if there is pain.

I was given extra silicone scar tape and atobarrier cream. Yay!

Overall, my breasts have softened considerably. My left is more sensitive than the right and when I move or use my arms a lot it feels more painful than the right. Dr. Lee says it's common and not to worry. I also notice fluid and air in the pocket which he also said is normal for the first two months. These are things which would all be absorbed by the body.
