alllyson6148 Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Hi everyone, I'm looking to get double jaw surgery + chin in Toronto. I can't afford to get it done in Korea, and here it would only cost me 13k in total. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am Asian and the surgeon I consulted with wanted to move my chin forward - which would look really bad on me imo. I'm looking into Asian maxillofacial surgeons but I haven't found any here so far.
arietta Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 I have a friend who did double jaw surgery and her surgery was covered by OHIP. You might want to check if yours will be covered too.
alllyson6148 Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 It is! However, I need to wear braces for about 16 months first, and I don't have orthodontic coverage or any of the pre-op surgery stuff covered. Without OHIP I'd be paying 30k for everything.
adamjm1 Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Hi Alllyson, I'm a UK citizen and had two jaw surgery done in Korea, on the 21st of December. I chose to have my surgery performed in Korea because they are able to perform the surgery without the need to fit braces. Although keep in mind that I had braces BEFORE the surgery when I was younger and my bite (occlusion) was very good. depending on your bite, parhaps surgery in Korea would be a good choice for you too, I had my work done with Misooda.com, if you speak with one of their agents they'll figure out what you need and answer any questions you have. Good luck
