Hey everyone, Danbam here, you might've seen me looking around but this is my first thread!

Hope 2019 has been treating y'all well, I wanted to lay out a type of journal-esque thread pre and post Korea surgery that I will be having in Mid June. After several months of consultations and looking around on Kakao chats, I have narrowed my list down to a couple clinics, and trust me, it has changed quite a bit! (and I will also share my thought process for not choosing to go to some as well!) Oh, almost forgot, I wanted to get rhinoplasty with epi as I felt like my nose could be enhanced, and my eyes too to help accommodate the changes in my nose hehe.

The clinics I chose originally: (for your convenience, I listed them in order of preference with first being a hard pass and last being my preferred choices!)

Banobagi- One of the first clinics I consulted online with, I saw mixed reviews around PS, but a try to reach out wouldn't hurt. They took relatively long to communicate to, and when I asked them some questions on my rhino (like what kind of materials), they just left me on read LOL. They quoted me around 6 mil won for rhino, and I think 3 mil for epi and lateral cantho (some clinics recommended lateral cantho which was interesting.) Since they left me on read and didn't seem too interested in replying, I quickly dropped them from my list. But the prices they gave seemed to set the average base for surgery costs!

April31- Another clinic I heard that did rhinoplasty well, I reached out to their kakao hoping to talk to Brian, but I got someone else who ended up creating a whole new groupchat with other workers I guess who could help me out better? But no one really answered so the guy I talked to asked me some questions and asked me to post a pic of a celebrity who I wanted to look like. (While I did post Key from Shinee lol, it did trouble me that the clinic told me that they would be able to make me look like him!) They ended up quoting me 7 mil for rhino and 2 mil for epi, and then adding 10% tax, entire total would be around 10 mil won which was a tad bit on the higher side for me. I also just wasn't too sure with their guarantee regarding me becoming Key 2.0 so I quickly dropped lol.

MVP P.S- Quickly consulted with a recommendation from MissOrange, I thought MVP was probably the sweetest consult I had. I voiced my concerns with my nose and eyes, and I was wondering if I needed extra procedures but the consultant was really sweet and told me I didn't need most of them. The honestly really got me and we were super close to getting a consulting price, but low and behold, I actually got disqualified from being able to get surgery as I was under their age requirement for getting surgery!!!!! I was devastated at the moment but turns out they actually had a problem with a patient that was super horrific, so I'm pretty sure I experienced a warm silver lining at the end.

View P.S- Actually spent a super long time consulting with this clinic and I was actually in the process of setting my deposit here... BUT I DIDN'T! View appeared to me to be a really established clinic with no accidents and a sense of pride on their multistory building and services. My consultant was Stacy and she was sweet and when I told her about Rhino and epi, she told me I didn't need any other surgery saying that I didn't need canthoplasty (I kind of stumbled and told her maybe a lip reduction will do too). She made me laugh when she said my lips were sexy which took me back but a compliment is still a compliment LOL. They quoted me 8.5 mil for my rhino and epicantho, and she told me that if I set a deposit I could take advantage of their VIP rooms for 6 days, and "if necessary, will provide the discounted price of 50,000 KRW per night for an extension." Later though, she threw in an extra day of the VIP hotel which really intrigued me, and I really felt that she cared. The cost that they listed though was their base price and was subjected to change since they needed me to come in and see what the true face to face consult would appear like! I would actually go and send the deposit for my surgery a week later but my deposit actually got bounced back since I sent it in the wrong currency! During that time of stress though, I took some look around at other clinics, and I decided that I didn't want to set my deposit quite yet since I wanted to see if I could find cheaper surgery costs that might yield better results.

I also consulted with Namu and UVOM, but that is to be continued... let me know if you guys/gals have any questions and please let me know of any advice for getting surgery in Korea! (OH, and if anyone knows of good clothing shops for both guys and girls, please let me know, I'm looking around for some Korean streetwear to refresh my current wardrobe!)

They told me that their age min. requirement was 21, otherwise, it was a while since I talked to them but either you had to be 21 or a parent had to be there with you.

Weird. I sent them my info to get a booking for consultation for DES but they never mentioned an age limit. I'm 20 btw.

Yeah that's interesting, at the time I asked I was worried since I wasn't legally an adult yet so I was kind of worried about which clinics would allow me to get surgery. View PS just gave me a form to have my parents fill and MVP either said they couldn't or that I had to have parent/guardian accompany me! There was also just a lot of confusion bc you're a year older in Korea so technically you'd be 21 in Korea I guess?

OKAY day number 2 and feeling rejuvenated, I'll be talking about Namu and Uvom consultations.

For Namu, I heard of this clinic as it had a surge of popularity a couple months back. I heard a lot about Claire in my group chats so I decided to send her a message. A couple hours later Claire replied and she was pretty direct in asking me what I wanted. She could be kind of blunt where it could kind of seem a little rude but all is good lol. I told her I wanted rhino and some kind of procedure for my eyes and she agreed. She actually told me that my eyes were a little wide LOL which stunned me but I ended up just laughing it off, To be honest, I kind of forgot which amount they quoted me but I believe it was 6 mil for rhino and 3 for epicantho and cantho. Totaling to around 9 mil. While she was direct in her answers though, I did have some awkward moments where I sent her messages and she would read it, but she wouldn't answer me, leading me to send an extra little emoji or something to remind her I was still there lol. Overall, Namu was an interesting choice, my friend decided to go there while I was making my decision and while they did her rhino well, I believe she was not satisfied with how they handled post-op as well as dealing with her concerns. ( I don't know too much though since she didn't say much about it, but take this as a grain of salt!)

UVOM- Wheewww the last clinic! I saw Uvom appearing here and there on purse forum and I was pleasantly surprised with their before and afters which looked amazing. I sent them a consult and my consultant was Choi. She was really prompt with answering my messages and her vibe was a mix between the rather funny and flirtatious Stacy from View and the directness from Namu. They quoted me 6.5 mil for rhinoplasty and an additional 1.5 mil for alar reduction. For epicantho they previously told me the price was 1 mil krw, but the actual was 2 mil. Thankfully though, they said it was an error but they will offer it at that rate anyway which was sweet. Overall, there is not much I could note about the consultation other than that it was pleasant and quick, Choi answered pretty quick as well and didn't get mad at me when I asked so many questions.

So that's all the clinics I communicated with! I will be going to Korea next month to get my surgery done so I am praying and hoping for the best! I hope to take pics and maybe a compilation of short snapchat stories to document my trip there! Again let me know if you guys have any advice or questions about anything and let me know where the best place to go shopping for clothes are!!!!!

Probably because DES is only 5 minutes of twilight anesthesia + localized anesthesia, where rhino requires extended anesthesia (not sure if MVP uses twilight or general), and their accident was caused by an unforeseen reaction to anesthesia by a 19-year old.
