Augmentative Rhinoplasty using 3D printed cartilage.

Recommended Posts

Hello there everyone!
I've been reading about the new developments in 3d bioprinting and I've read a couple of articles on how Pohang university in South Korea successfully transplanted 3d printed cartilage implant in mice. https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/2041731418824797

The next step is human trials I guess. Other clinics are already using 3d printed joints and ears so I guess printing noses should be possible. I've actually read about another SK university hospital who successfully reconstricted a seprum using printed cartilage.
So my question is, is there any clinic that uses this technique today? I feel like this is the only way I can guarantee that I will get 80-90% of my orginal nose back. I'm so afraid of another faild revision.

I think if they are only just now using it on mice even if there was a clinic who could do it you would probably be one of the first people to be operated on (meaning probably not a very good result).
