Has anyone had experience doing fat transfer from abdomen/back/thighs to the hip area? I googled and saw a couple of clinics offering the procedure but not much reviews.

I did some research a while back and more or less decided that Korea is not a great place to get a Brazilian butt lift. More places are offering fat transfers these days, but implants are still more common, which I think speaks to the lack of confidence in the procedure. And the most famous buttock augmentation clinic specialises in using Sculptra. Plus, Korean butt aesthetics are not very close to what I'd consider my ideal. Half of the time, I was looking at the after-result photos thinking they were the before shots...

I also looked into Thailand. The level of confidence among surgeons seemed to be higher than in Korea; some were saying they had performed hundreds of BBLs. But most of the doctors I contacted were only willing to discuss the procedure in really broad terms without a consultation. (Which I understand, but I'm not going to fly to all the way Thailand for a consultation if I can't see patient results etc beforehand.)

I thought Dr. Yap in the Philippines has some really impressive BBL before/afters on his Instagram. But he also has some pretty scathing reviews on this forum, so I left it at that.

And there are some very positive reviews on RealSelf about Dr Gavin Chan in Melbourne (I live in Australia), but he's not a Board-certified plastic surgeon.

So, back to square one for me. If I lived in America, I'd most likely choose to do it there (or even Latin America), but there aren't many options in Australia unfortunately. I'd be interested in hearing about other people's experiences with the procedure too.

Thanks for the reply. I think the regards to the Korean b&a's is because a majority of koreans are very slim to begin with and there is always a limitation on how drastic the results can be with autologous fat transfer. Most of the ~amazing~ results I've seen online are of women who already have some shape to begin with, and BBL just further enhanced it. For example in this video:

I've accepted the fact that someone like me w/ a flat booty isn't gonna look like Kim K LOL. I'm planning a second trip to korea for facial contouring and was thinking of getting it done over there all in one trip just to save for all the hassle

What i heard is the fat does not last much except very limited area  and i also researched a lot about the procedures in korea but it seems like they are not that experienced in fat injection to hip

I can't give you any recommendations as I didn't have this done but when I was at my clinic (Hyundai Aesthetics) I saw a few advertisements for what I assume was fat transfers to the butt/hip area so I would assume that it is gaining popularity in Korea.

Yep! I went to Seoul in April for lipo/fat transfer to my buttocks and I’m actually going tomorrow again (lol) for a BBL top up (and rhinoplasty, looking for a suitable clinic...). As for my lipo/bbl I really didn’t do much research beforehand (I know...terrible...) and just looked for places that actually even would do BBL/“hip up” surgery (that’s what they essentially call a BBL in Korea). Rahae and Yumastem are lipo clinics that do BBLs (I found them on an app called BeautySocial) so I went in for f2f consultations and ended up with Rahae because they fit within my price range.

In short, yes Korea is not known for BBLs and the general body aesthetic people go for is thin in Korea. Considering my lack of preparation for the BBL part (I was much more fixated on losing my belly fat and focused on the lipo and at that time, just saw the BBL as an additional “bonus,” not really like a standalone dramatic procedure), Dr. Kim gave me 275 cc in each butt cheek which is minimal compared to clinics in the US that will put 400-500+ cc in each butt. I realize it depends on your frame, but as mentioned doctors in Korea aren’t coming in with patients with a slim figure wanting a Kim Kardashian butt. That said, it did give me some improvement but not that noticeable. My butt isn’t really “bigger” at all but just very, very slightly enhanced. Which l think by Korean standards is great (thin body with just subtle shape in the butt), but by American aesthetics (slim-thick, etc.) not that noticeable.

They stored my lipo fat from my stomach (I had about 1500 cc removed) and so I’m going back to the same clinic and putting the remaining fat into my butt and hips, with some additional lipo/fat transfer from my love handles. I’ve been communicating with the clinic on KKT with photos of my ideal body shape, etc. and hoping to get a bit more dramatic results now that I am showing my ideal shape and actually putting in some more research lol. :P

Hey! Great to see a fellow Melbournian on here.
I’m planning to travel to Cali to get a BBL at the end of this year /start of next year done by Dr Ron Hazani (board certified, Harvard graduate). I went with him because in all honesty, he was one of very few I had come across that produces natural (but still hourglass) figures and he does ‘skinny bbl’. He wasn’t my first choice though, Dr Sej was but he charges $30K usd.
The reason why dr Hazani wasn’t my first choice is because he gives a lot of his patients ‘laterals’ unless they specifically express they want hips and not laterals (too much laterals and you begin to take the shape of a wisdom tooth..think stassiebaby and Nikita dragun).
I’m surprised Gavin isn’t board certified.

I am looking at Korea only for face work when I when I eventually need it when I'm in my 50s. Currently, I am looking for clinics for anit-aging and rhinoplasty for my boyfriend. I have a spread sheet of clinics, procedures, and prices they quoted me I can post later if anyone is interested.

I just went to Medellin, Colombia for all my body work. Tummy tuck, lipo + BBL, breast lift and implant, renuvion j plasma. They (and Brazil) are the best in the world for it. Total cost was $13k usd and my doctor didn't charge me for the 50 units of botox for my face. My surgeon was Dr. John Fredy Orlas Blair. They call him "The Hands" in Colombia.

My results are amazing. Scars are pencil thin and white. I have always been an hour glass, but he made it more dramatic. Current measurements are 40-25-39 inches. Bra size is now 32H, but the implants don't look huge on me (595cc high profile Mentor Xtra round, smooth).

Hi, how was your result? Are you happy with the results? Do you recommend Rahae Clinic?

I do recommend Rahae  I had really good results and very happy with them. I did post my results on the app I mentioned, you can see if you download.

Thanks for sharing your journey so far! You've inspired me to now seriously consider Dr. John Fredy Orlas Blair for BBL (and possibly breast implants).

I've done some research on him and the overall results are impressive! Only been able to find butt implant results from him though. So I'm thrilled you're a BBL patient of his.
  • Are you willing to share your before/after pics?
  • Given your multi-surgery, how was the recovery process?
    • My understanding of BBL recovery is you can't lay on your back, etc. for a few weeks. And breast implant surgery also requires avoiding any additional weight on them too.. Did you lay on your sides for the entire recovery?
    • I would be traveling there solo so I'd likely get a private nurse, etc. - did you also get the additional "add-ons" massage, private nurse, etc?
  • How long did you stay in Medellin, Colombia post-op? (how long would you recommend?)
