madambutterfly89 Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 hi guys As you know I had an unfortunate cheekbone reduction. I have consulted various surgeons and got diff opinions. Some say the Zygoma reconstruction with bone graft using the mouth and eyelid incision is fine. Another surgeon mentioned a coronal incision( which is cutting across the head and peeling the face forward) the only way? Our Zygoma should have a curve like his ( ) however mine is like this I I There needs to be a bone graft placed in the gap area in order to elevate the zygoma outward to create this ( ) shape back. I don’t want to make another huge mistake. I’ve already Wasted so much Money, Time and been dealing with depression, anxiety, and panic attacks for last few years. I don’t know which route is the way to go. I’m on purse forum hoping to get sound advice bc seeing a surgeon sometimes is a conflict of interest. Because let’s face it, surgeons need to make a living and feed their family’s. Unfortunately, sometimes patients get into trouble and get improper advice Or recommendation due to this bottom line. I just want to feel normal and has my life back.
cythr Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 To be honest for complicated matters like this I think its much better to contact the clinics because at the end of the day they are obviously going to know a lot more than us (I'm assuming there aren't any members who are trained in maxillofacial reconstruction).
madambutterfly89 Posted July 16, 2019 Author Posted July 16, 2019 To be honest with you, I’ve consulted with many and all they all said zygoma reduction comes with a lot issues. however each surgeon has their own opinion. Some say use a bone graft with transonjuctival and oral technique, some say I need a coronal incision, and some think using a bone graft is unpredictable and will reasorbed. I wouldn’t be in this nightmare to begin with if I went to a surgeon who understood hat zygoma reduction look horrible in real life and cause many complication rather then giving me misinformation. I blame myself too for not doing enough research and being so brainwashed. These medical doctors think they know everything but in reality how in the world do they not understand that cheekbone reduction causes premature aging?! I only found this out after going through it and speaking to several REAL patient not promoters that this is a horrible surgery ever invented. These doctors are either not honest or just plain ignorant and stupid and only care about their bottom line rather then the safety and interests of their patients
cythr Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 They all know that bone contouring can cause sagging and reputable clinics will tell you before that you might experience sagging. I'm guessing that if your doctor never mentioned any of the side effects that must have been one of the shadier clinics.
madambutterfly89 Posted July 17, 2019 Author Posted July 17, 2019 Not once. Apparently bc I’m Young my skin will snap back but that was a lie. Loss of volume = premature aging, flatness, and. Heaviness to the face. Money over patients life. He gets to continue living his life while I’m dealing with this nightmare.
